Sylicon Case?? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Accessories

Will Sylicon case make scratches on my xda II? specially the black sylicon case? i am just wondering if the color black will of the case will stick to xda II? and wodering cuz the sylicon case is just like a rubber and can make a scratches on it? anyone tried?

if you mean this one

then no it dont rub off on the xda2 leaving discolouring
and scratches ?
i really fail to see how something as soft as silicon or rubber for that matter should be able to scratch something as hard as the xda2

It looks same with member "flywhc" (here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=20484) but mine is capdase and to him is pdaden i think. will this be ok?

yeah i think it's the same one as i got
i had no problems with mine
apart from the fact that if you take your xda2 out of it too often
to sync i think it'll beging to break in the silicone
not a problem for me since i sync using bluetooth

How about heat? Can silicone absorb the heat? My XDA II gets hot whenever I use a wall charger compared to cradle or usb wire.

never had head issues dont really use it much anymore as being taken out to fit in the cradle kinda killed it in the long run
but my pda dont get hot when i charge it

[POLL] Did you remove the paint on your ear-piece?

It appears to be a very common problem that the black paint on the Captivate's ear-piece has a tendency to scratch off VERY easily.
I am curious as to know how many people actually got fed up with trying to repair this awful blemish; and decided to just scratch all the paint off to make it look better.
Personally I removed the black paint completely and kind of like the silver that remains.
What are your thoughts?
What? I've never heard anyone mention this. My paint is fine.
first I've heard of this, and mine is just fine as well.
The paint literally flaked off of mine just by rubbing my thumb on it.
No issues here, maybe you got a defective model?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
This is bizarre I've never heard of this happening lol
If my model is defective, I don't think they would ever replace it because it's physical damage.
no problem here either,,if they sound good your good to go
No issues for me, trim your ear hairs.............

I actually don't talk on the device very often, I'm more so a texter
Anyway, it was more from putting the phone in and out of my pocket:
Here is a picture I just took:

Mine is fine and i carry it in my pocket with no case. I would think that the piece would be annodized and not painted. Probably got one with a bad grille. If you complain enough they may replace it - hard to say.
In all honesty, it literally started as a small chip in the "paint"; I touched that up with a sharpie.
Next day I had another chip, I rubbed it with my thumb and more came off - at that moment I decided to just rub the rest off and it just flaked away into dust.
Never thought of it....My phone is a tool not a piece of jewelery. Scratches and blemishes don;t bother me. I don;t use a s case and carry it in my pocket with keys and crap. I do use a screen protector though. As far as paint goes...Meh..not worth worrying about of "fixing"

A hair dryer, a dremel and an hour, and some kydex

Of your time, Oh, and some kydex...
Made up this joby gorilla mount.
The locking piece for this joby was attached to my last camera when it got stolen, and it's been sitting around ever since...UNTIL NOW, DA DA DA
The phone is inside a case mate for now, and the friction locking mount is designed to fit over this, better fit.
It doesn't quite work as a landscape stand though, unless I take the case mate off. Oh well, next time make the prong a little longer...
Okay okay, here are some pics...

Here is one more showing it's just as capable in landscape mode too.

I think its great! how tightly is it in there? Will it withstand some shake?
Good work mate
It holds up very well actually, I thought I would have to drill out a notch to lock it but didn't need to so I'm happy with it.

SUCCESS!!!! Modding the Seidio Active Kickstand to Opposite Direction?

Hello everyone,
I have this awesome case, however, the one issue I have with it is that the kickstand on it makes standing the phone up while charging impossible, because the charging port faces down.
Has anyone ever modded this? Or anyone know how to get the kickstand off so I can reverse it without causing too much damage?
I've looked inside and out, but there's no screws or any mounting type of hardware.... wonder if it's welded or glued?
This drives me nuts too, but I doubt you're going to be able to modify it without cutting into the rubber. A bummer for sure.
Best feeling/looking case but that does kinda suck
Sent from my HTC One X
I sent Seidio an email, let's see if they reply with any helpful info.
Well, they weren't much help, but they were very nice.
But.......... SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!! I decided to go for it.

1. take a small screwdriver to the back and pry off the black coating, you can remove it. Yes, this breaks the seal (and voids your warranty), but now you can access the entire metal assembly of the kickstand.
2. Then you flip it.
3. Install the hardcase back onto the rubber case that's on the phone (you don't need to seal it back up, cos it fits perfectly, though, you definitely can affix something to the back if you really want), and VOILA! Kickstand phone is charging!
Awesome! Thanks for taking the risk for the rest of us Will definitely be doing this.
Nice.
Now my only complaint is that the stand makes phone sit funny.
Been living with by propping it up and can continue to do so, just a slight annoyance of a other wise good case.

DEFINATELY HELPFUL !!! the same reason i didn't buy this case .. now i might give it a go
This is the sweetest case around. I will be trying this mod, now......
Awesome thanks for this. Been wanting to do the same thing for a while now.

Back cover ( NOT cases )

Are there any metal like ones around? Something a little bit on the gentle side for signal. I would assume such things would be all over the place since so many want to tout / whine about the plastic back. However, I can't really find one that doesn't claim to be aluminum.

i think hes talking about a metal battery cover...
and i doubt that this will become a thing, btw. the reason it's removable is because it's plastic.

I'm a fan of using skins instead of cases. I usually order from SkinIt.com
However, they don't seem to have anything for the S4... YET.

[Q] Help with UAG Casing

Hey guys I recently bought a UAG casing for my S5 online, and I realized that it doesn't really fit? I'm not sure but it looks like the casing isn't wide enough for the phone or something. Alot of times it feels liek the phone is "popping out" in a bad way, and I can see the gold trim around the phone too.
Do you think I bought a fake one? Cos it's very tough to remove the phone from the casing too and I can hear the creaks and feels like the phone is gonna bend or something!

It depends on where u bought it online? I have a clear one and right now prefer it over a ballistic case and a spigen slim armor cs case. Fits perfectly, and the phone is secure in it. It can be a little tough removing the case, but I prefer it that way... :good:
Mine fits perfectly in my case. It is a little hard to get out, but that it because it fits so perfectly. You shouldn't see any gaps or even any part of the bezel. I have seen a lot of fake UAG cases where they are, for lack of a better term, "warped" and don't fit snuggly, leaving gaps around the bezel. I would be a little concerned that you got a fake one. Where did you buy it? Also, the pics posted aren't coming up on my end to look at it.
