Hi, Unfortunately my Himalaya got drenched (as did i) in a thunderstorm.
I was in the middle of a call and when i swithed the device back on the screen came on upside down and then went out. I have dried it out but now it doesn't switch on at all, and on charging up the Red LED lights up constantly. I can't get any sense out of O2 so i wondered if any of you guys may be able to help with the following and i apologise if i am being a bit dumb here..but you never know someone else may have had the same experience!
1. Is my PDA now useless?
2. Does the RED LED signify anything in particular
3. Is there anything i can do to the device to re-activate it.
Thanks
mark
maybe
How long have you charged it?
When my acumulator totaly went dead the red led was flashing continously and the PDA was'nt do anything
I charged few minutes when boot up....
Have you tried a new battery, most times if a phone gets wet it kills the battery. Your main mistake was switching it on before drying it out.

Hi everyone i purchesed the o2 xda orbit 2 days ago and all has been well untill about 15 mins ago. I was brousing the net using IE with wirless connection to my router. Put the phone on the table and went away for 10 mins came back and it wouldnt connect back to the internet so i swithed off the phone by holding down the off buttom until it asks to switth on and selected ok, then i pressed the on button to turn back on, the blue screen came up with the bubble and the red numers and stuff, then just when black but the yellow light that blinks to tell you its got signal was still blinking. I tried removing the battery then restarted but still the same. Now i have noticed it will start up with the charger pluged in but as soon as i unplug screen goes black I plug it back in again and it comes back! the battery is currently 60% charged.
Any help would be much appriciated.
thanks
opps never mind solved it! silly me god know how this happened but the setting for energy saving for screen brighness was turned right down! silly me sorry for waist of time.

I can't even turn my Newish XDA Exec on!!!
I received it this morning and I just get the 02 flash screen to come on for a couple of seconds then it goes blank... it's doing this over and over.
The charging light comes on for a bit too (was ok for awhile - staying on all the time) now it goes amber then red while the splash screen comes on then everthing goes dark!
Pleeeease don't say it's broke
I've tried charging with the charger but the light is red so it's now plugged into my pc and going on and off...
I forgot to bring the CD with me - is that needed at this stage? ie: just turning the thing on? is there a site that I can download the software from rather than use the CD?
*sob* gonna cry soon...
it has small letters in the top left screen R G D with numbers next to them (what does that mean?)
Would really appreciate some help and advice please.
Thank you
(Happy New Year )
Welcome to the forum.
First don't cry
Second, check if the battery is connected tightly and correctly.
Then turn it off and connect it to a wall charger (not PC) and let it charge for at least 6 hours (unless there is a red light).
If there is still a red instead of orange charging light this means the battery is bad.
Since it is new it should still be under warranty.
As for the disk there you do not need it. To transfer files and synchronize outlook info to your PC you need MS ActiveSync which is free and available on MS site.
Hi
I've not started crying as yet but on a slippery slope to a good sulking!
Is it suppose to be flashing red? (I don't think it's amber!!) (do you think if I went into a shop and got them to test a battery to see if it works with a new one - but I wouldn't buy it from them - cheaper to buy online)
I would have thought I'd get something as it's been charging now for about 3 hours (on and off - I've been trying the usb cable every now and then which is when I get the flash screen to come up for a few secs - don't get anything when it's in the normal charger).
(I've brought this 2nd hand so no warranty! my mobile phone, which this XDA is suppose to be replacing is new but o2 said they wont fix it and it's only 7 months old!!)
thanks for your help
It's working!!
I did think that the flashing red colour was wrong.. was told it was suppose to be a solid colour.
Phew.. I was getting very worried!
it might need a new battery at some point - but at least I know it works
Thanks for your help
Hi I need help with trying to repair my sensation z710e.
I had to replace the digitizer today. I followed a couple of guides i found online. I was very careful and gentle throughout the procedure. Unfortunately I did break a cable which lights up the bottom row of buttons. It was glued solidly to the digitizer but even as i scraped at it as gently as I could it snapped. Okay , not the end of the world. I was warned about it in the guide but it was just glued to solidly.
Anyway put everything back together and got a boot loop when i turned on. I rebotted into the bootloader to see what would happen, that worked fine but when I selected recovery the thing just froze and rebooted and continued to boot loop.
I then tried to re-flash the radio file PG58IMG.img but wasn't allowed to as the phone reported that the batter was too low.
So i plugged it in and left it there for an hour or two switched off.
But the current situation now is that the phone won't turn on at all. When the charger is plugged in the orange LED is on but flashes to Off for a second every 10 seconds. Does anyone know if this is a code for something.
It looks to me that the battery died and didn't charge at all when I plugged it in earlier. Could that be due to bricked firmware? I have no way of telling if the battery is actually dead as I don't have the equipment to test. I have a feeling I can save this phone somehow. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

The orange blinks mean that your battery is drained to the fullest. So you need to recharge it. Plug the phone in a 'wall charger' not computer or ps3 whatever just straight from the wall charger keep im mind it could take an hour to recover but when it happened to me it took 30 mins to get enough juice to power on
EDIT:
Alternative if the charging doesnt work.

Thanks for looking into this thread. Really appreciate any comment and help.
Following would be the happening as brief as possible.
1. While using in pool, the flap got opened and water got in while the whole phone is submerged in water. I don't even have the chance to look at how it shut down.
2. Put into rice and silica gel in airtight container for 4 days
3. Tried to charge it, with red LED initially then orange.
4. Tried to boot it, below is the details of what's happening:
Long press the on/off button while charging (practically any trial of booting it, which can only happen while charging) → LED light goes off → red LED with 3 vibrations → continue to red LED for while before going off again, with nothing at all showing up on the screen → continue orange LED, which indicate that it's charging.
Here's the problem, it shows nothing on the screen, unlike others that have at least an image of charging battery. It charge without constant vibration (no boot loop I guess). Anyone has any idea about my phone? Helps are really appreciated. I really valued this phone. Thank you.
Hey guys,
a few days ago I accidentally dropped an HTC One E8 in water and obviously it doesn't work anymore. Before buying a new one I wanted to ask, if some of our "HTC experts" may have suggestions on what else I could try before giving up.
The situation: I dropped it in water, didn't turn it off (dumb, I know) and it worked for around 10 minutes until it powered off. I left it in rice for a day and it didn't turn on or charge. At this point I nearly gave up.
I left it for in rice (about 48 hours) and - the orange led was flashing while charging. Even the screen turned on and it showed a charging symbol first and after a few seconds it showed a red circle and a white exclamation mark. After some time I could power it on and the touchscreen worked and I could use it, but it still was around 1%/0%. The screen flickered, but it was usable. I wanted to plug it in my computer then to rescue some data, but 5 seconds after I took it off power (to switch from the wall charger to my PC) it died.
Now I tried it to power it on for like 2 days, but with no charger connected nothing happens and when I connect the charger, the orange led is on constantly. I tried power/volume- and power/volume+, but nothing happens. Not even the charging indicator comes up, the screen is completely dead.
Are there any steps to try before giving up? By the way I don't want to disassemble it
Thanks in advance
