Has anyone tried the new 1.12 ROM by Qtek? Is the radio any better?

I have upgraded my 1.11 version S100 to 1.12 and everything seems fine and unless I am mistaken the device appears to work faster when booting, swapping between menu's and when using applications such as Copilot 5. There also appears to be an accuracy improvement when using the MS voice command software. There appears to be no improvement in the earpeice volume (but I have no complaints about it anyway) and it isnt any worse.
Just as a footnote, the upgrade went without any issue and was as easy to update as my i-mate SP3 and O2 XDA I had before.
Would there be any SMS problem in 1.12 Rom if restore programs and data by Sprite Backup?

Personally I wouldn't have a bloody clue, the only thing I can tell you for sure is that anything you dont save to another location OFF THE S100 will be lost when you upgrade to versionn 1.12
I would guess that anything you are able to back up to either a PC or an SD card can be restored.
I upgraded to 1.12 and no issues, but speaker volume/clarity seems to be better :?

The main drawback or how do you call it "missing" feature (or am i dumb enough not to be able to turn that option on?)
On 1.06 and then when i upgraded to 1.12 when i was in the dialer program.. i could start typing name of whoever i want to call. for example, if i wanted to dial a number of a friend called "jinkie" , i would have to press 5-4-6-5-4-3 and it would be automaticly selected to doubleclick it and voila, we dialed the correct number.
in 1.13 that feature is gone, and as far as i have found the only way to dial a number from phonebook is to open contacts and list 100's of numbers to the J letter and then to select it and call it.
the first method is much easier for me as i got used to it and is there a way to turn it on in 1.13 or do i need to reflash it to 1.12 again?

Yr talkin abt smart dialing.. Tat software usually comes in Ext. ROM.. try gettin tat frm Ext rom of O2 or any oter place...
Low signal
After upgrade to 1.13 my MDA shows very low network signal and sometimes lose connection (showing "No service")!
Is where a way to fix it?

Unless there was a specific reason as to why you upgraded to 1.13- I would revert back to a good working ROM.
I upgraded to 1.13 (to potentially solve problem with BT headset) myself and experienced problems of a different kind- went back to 1.12- eventually found a fix for my problem.
Have you upgraded your Radio ROM as well the CE to 1.13?
These two were only available separately from the FTP when I looked last.

i have updated to 1.13 and canceled the installation of things from ext rom but i can access it. i installed now intellidialer but it isnt it. or it doesnt work.
any suggestion?

I've upgraded Radio to 1.3 and CE to 1.12 BS..
Just got my MDA Compact back from HTC and they put back the Rom from last May.
Funny thing is, I haven't been able to find any advantages to justify me upgrading to 1.13. For a start, rebooting the thing is quicker on 1.12.
Can anyone advise if I am missing something important by not upgrading to 1.13?

Maybe it feels quicker because it is a fresh installation. I doubt there are any speed differences during boot time because the changes since 1.06 are very minor and mostly ExtROM related.

I think as part of the "No Bluetooth device found" fix, they added some time to booting. Not sure, can anyone confirm?
Could that be the reason my bluesoleil did NOT found the bluetooth device on the VPA Compact 1.12 rom, and it did find it when i had installed the 1.13 t-mobile rom.
Problem is, all that t-mobile **** is not really helping me out. THe Vodafone PUSH-EMAIL service is not auto connecting etc.
Could I get that bluetooth fixed even when having installed 1.12 in some way?
Rom 1.13 comes with newer battery dll, camera & album. & indeed a BT-fix. Using it for 5 months now & still satisfied with this rom.
@Riel, you can skip all TMO related ext-rom stuff by hard-resetting your device & just before customization (the little pop-up after the message 'now tap the screen
to start using your device') starts you soft-reset again.
Then load the required Orange cabs from your previous rom & you should be fine.

The Hang-up which I experience, could that be a 1.12 problem (when PAN with another s100 with Bluesoleil, it hangs when we start a MP game if pushmanager is installed).
Maybe 1.13 will fix it?
I just ran the get device data and uprade utility of radio rom tytn 1.16 (downloaded from this site/portal only) on my htc magician ( o2 mini with t mobile nl rom ).it shows all the previous rom, radio and ext rom versions plus and at the lower part the new radio version is 1.16 looks like it is upgradeable because BA 1.15 or other versions never went this far also . I just didn't try got little jittery . as it is day day time here in india and if it works or doesn't means loading programs all over again or getting it in the ok shape again with a possible hard reset and i have to go to work with phone and all the functionality . Somebody try and pm me

went till about 2% then incompatibility error . i had to flash my earlier rom radio again. earlier I had radio 1.13 radio on tmobile nl 1.13 rom . seemed it made phone warmer and and drain on the battery too. Now I'm going to go with the shipped radio 1.12 with the shipped uk rom .Any thoughts on radio 1.13 i think it was inconsistent . i mean the voice was sharper when there it was then skipped a beat a little after 10 -15 seconds which doesn't make difference in normal conversations on the phone . but it was more prounounced when it was streaming the pocket resco internet radio which breaks the connection and the buffer starts again which is kind on of annoying in my morning or evening jogs/walks and I don't play pre stored mp3 song from sd card as it wiped everything on the sd card after some song sessions . please share your experiences
I've been running 1.13 for a couple of months, and it seems fine. Bluetooth and phone seem pretty good/consistent.
I only ran 1.12 for a week or so, then I saw 1.13, so I can't really compare battery life of the two, but I know 1.13 is doing better then the original ROM, (I think it was 1.06 or 1.10.0)
Please share the experience and comparisions also . and if there is a experience regarding streaming internet radios between radio 1.12 and 1.13. I have already hard reset my phone and not loaded any much programs .Thre is a possibility of flashing again one more time then I'm going to settle for some time .I triead bluetooth A2dp bchs cab installs fine ,someone somewhere I guess modaco.com was that Stereo bluetooth works with only radio 1.13 . but in in shipped 1.122 it shows all the options .I don't stereo bluetooth headset .Going to buy one will somebody help me in giuiding and by answering these above questions

I have problem with my XDA 2 mini or the other called this the HTC Magician. I try to UPgrade my Radio 1.03 to 1.12. and when im applying the upgrade procedure the Upgrading stops and error. What happen now is my XDA 2 mini or HTC magician doesnt open now. only the word "SERIAL" and when i plug the USB, the word "USB" show on the screen................... Is there some one can help me pleasssse with my problem....

you try soft reset your device.
and if "bad radio" show up the screen, you can try update it again or redown new radio file if your file error. normal bootloader is serial/usb.

unfortunately I keep on losing some SMSs.
I have changed different ROM (from the NBD 4... up to the 8.2 that currently I have in use, XDA6 in all the releases...) but the problem persists.
sometimes... not frequently (unfortunately always from a person for me very important) I lose the SMSs: the telephone "revives", illuminates the display green and red buttons... but nothing.... SMS=0
(I have called the person that I imagined had written me and has confirmed me)
I have tried the whole radios: 2.69 (good audio...), 2.61...very fast but bad receipt, 2.47 (I thought the best), 2.37 (original of mine k-jam Italian), 2.25 of T-mob and finally the 2.19.. from all declared the best... but with a bad audio according to me.
Any idea?
with a downgrade to WM5 the problems seem to disappear....

i think its not bcuz of wm6 !
you RESET your phone without any reason ! if you RESET your phone , all incoming data will be lost !
so try shutting down your phone by pressing and holding the power botton and this problem probably will be gone

This is a confirmed problem with WM6, if you search around you'll find the T-Mobile Radio ROM and CIngular Radio ROM threads where people outline some of the issues they've been having and the fixes they've tried and gotten to either work or fail. I'd just reccomend either switching back to AKU 3.3 or just keep trying different radios.
That's a radio issue, the only ones that seem to work consistently is Farias version of 2.69 or 2.19. The non faria version of 2.69 still seems to have that problem, at least for me it did.

No problem. The easiest way to figure out if a radio is going to work for you is to hook your phone up to activesync and then call yourself or text yourself while it's connected. If the the send and end lights come on but you don't recieve the call or sms it's time to flash a different radio rom. Call yourself or text yourself a few times to make sure because you may just get lucky and it recieves the call or sms the first time or 2.
Windows Mobile 6 it's Freezing, I have a Tmobile Mda PRO and y flashed all the available wm 6 rom's and when someone give's me a short call and the pda it's in laptop mode in standby it freezes can anyone help me, when i flash wm5 no more problems ....
I don’t know about that but I never had that problem ever.

It is certainly a problem of ROM, change it. But before doing so clean well your DiskOnChip with mtty 1.42 and then use a ROM with Radio included .
I had that problem before. It's one of the programs or registry hacks you installed. It doesn't happen just after flashing a new ROM isn't it? It also doesn't freeze in PDA/portrait mode, isn't it?
Anyway, I isolated my problem to HTC Home (not HTC Homeplugin). Uninstalled it & I'm back to using this Uni (Vodafone V1640) mostly in laptop mode & in any of the new WM6 ROM releases!
Just sharing to give you a lead where to look into, our devices are all HTC Universals but it's been proven to behave differently from one another on different ROMs. For one this G3 device doesn't have the SD Card problems that others are having!
Besides, except for the Video call I don't see any reason at the moment to go back to WM5, WM6 is faster & as stable now as WM5!

Hi,
Can you try a new or another battery?
This solved my issues with frequent hangs.
I think these new WM6 roms are more "powerhungry".
