WANTED: XDA IIs or BETTER??? - General Topics

I've been a loyal Siemens SX56 user for the last couple of years, but after accidentally driving over the unit last week, I need to get a new unit ASAP.
I've been considering the XDA IIs (or the PDA2K) but need to find a place to buy one immediately, in Canada!!! I've been watching eBay for days, and hope to avoid the whole cross-border or international shipping nonsense.
I'm in the Toronto area. ANY SUGGESTIONS??? Thank you!

Check out http://www.dweiniger.com -- he's in Toronto, and is very highly regarded over at Howard Forums.

Are you SURE he's in Toronto, Ontario? I looked all over the website you mentioned (http://www.dweiniger.com) and didn't find anything to indicate he is in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Based on some of the postings I read over at Howard Forums, I'd thought he was in Toronto -- however, it appears he's actually in New Jersey (or at least his domain is registered there).

Any o2 stores with XDA II in stock

I'm sick and tired of repeatedly ringing all my local o2 stores to see if they've got any in stock, so please post if you know of any that do - preferably in the Surrey/London area.
Also with out starting another thread on best price etc. O2 offering XDa II at £199 on £15p/m contract so therefore cost £379 over the year. I'm not going to use the contract at all just intererested in handset and this is cheaper than I can pick up a second hand one on ebay. However if anyone knows of a cheaper way to get hold of one please let me know. (in another thread someone said o2 selling it for £300 sim-free but to be honest not sure I believe that to be correct!).
I doubt you can find one by phoning the shop up. My local o2 shop has a list of customers waiting for a xda. Last time I looked it was two pages long and they're only getting 3 handsets a week from distrribution.

USA visit..

All, I'm visiting Florida shortly and I'm wondering how best to stay in touch - should I buy a prepaid SIM card if so any suggestions as to which at all please or any other suggestions.
NB I will probably be using the phone/phones to call local cell phones in Florida.
Thanks
Pete
There was quite a discussion on this a couple of weeks ago, as a search may have shown

[Q] Desktop Dock in Canada

Hello,
I have been looking everywhere for the Nexus One desktop dock in Canada, but have not yet found a supplier. Would anyone know where's the best place to get one? Ebay is overpriced... I am looking anywhere from 50-70 USD.
Thanks.
bump... anyone?
I think you can buy one through android.com if you have a developer account. You might also try to order through http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/, but I'm not sure if they ship to North America.
I'm worried about where I'm going to get a replacement battery down the road. I always assumed that Google would continue to sell accessories after discontinuing the phone, but I guess they decided to give us a big middle finger instead.

Looking everywhere...
I called Nexus one support ---> tried to help me find one, but no avail.
I called america HTC shop ---> cannot use canadian based creditcard or paypal, they only ship to america. (i was actually okay with this since I could have asked my friend to send it over to me once received)
I checked accessory shop at UK (non in canada) ---> they do ship to canada, but they are out of stock until september 5th. Plus shipping is expensive
I checked ebay ---> I'm not going to bother explaining this one
I checked Amazon ---> 120 (with shipping). too expensive.
I'm getting pissed off now. Way to go google. This is the first time I'm questioning google's marketing team.
I have a pretty much brand new one for sale if you like. Think I've used it twice all up since I got it with my N1 5 months ago from the US?
I am based in Australia but am happy to ship worldwide.
I have sent you a PM.
cheers

[Completed] Prepaid Data Plan USA

Hey XDA-lers,
I think it's an unusual question because it's not directly related to tech... But maybe it can be answered here (hope it's the right forum?).
My girlfriend and me want to travel to USA next month for 5 weeks. We want to rent a car and drive through california, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho - typical touristic thing everybody does .
Since we need internet (for navigation and everything else), we search for a data plan. We don't need SMS or phone - only data. 5gb would be perfect.
Does anybody know a cheap plan with good coverage in this region?
I found this one:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Tmobile-30-Wireless-Airtime-Card/15443357
But I think, you need to buy a phone at Walmart to get it?!
Something in this direction would be perfect!
Thank you very much!

Nobody an idea? No Americans here?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I can't find anything relating to your question on XDA, it would probably be best to ask here:
