The question sounds to be silly, I know. Using my previous PDA - Qtek S100 - it was automatic. When I changed the Word's default 'Save to:' folder to 'Storage Card' the next new document was saved into the 'Storage Card\My Documents' folder.
But I switched to Artemis. I like it very much but simply can't make Word and Notes programs use the 'Storage Card\My Documents' folder. They do save the docs to the Card but always to the root directory. In case of Excel I found the right string in the registry and changed it, and it works! But I have no idea what to modify in case of Word or Notes.
Is it a WM5 speciality that the system does not recognize the 'Storage Card\My Documents' folder as an "official" one? (S100 runs 2003 SE, so I'got little experience with WM5 yet.)
Please help me if anyone knows a solution or workaround.
Thanks in advance,
ctibor
Nobody has any hint?
exactly what i m looking too! same like u, i found the key for excel but not for words and notes. i googled around but found nothing about it.
I am glad not being alone
It may encourage the more experienced mates of the forum, with in-deepth knowledge of WM5, to deal with the problem.
being full of hope
let me push the thread a little bit upper
Has anyone located these yet. I took a quick look the other day and couldn't find them.
Man these files are just missing.
Search for them using the search option in programs. If you are looking at changing the sounds copy files to your windows directory.
The ROM chef may have removed the WM6 Sounds. If that doesn't work, give a try to similar searches with the term WM6 sounds. I've seen a Hermes cab for this, which should also work on the Kaiser. Hope this helps!
welcome
I need something that it can add in the registry a startup sound
can you help me
help please
nobody to help??????????
Welcome to the forum!
I'm very interested! I would love to find out more.
Solution founded:
add in registry this lines
hkcu\controlpanel\sounds\systemstart\sound:\windows\htc_bootup.wav
hkcu\controlpanel\sounds\shutdown\sound:windows\htc_bootdown.wav
I have attached the sounds.
Unzip the two files in the windows file or here \windows
If you want anything else please email
Hello all,
I hope I used the search function correctly, I could not find an answer to this one. If You have a link to an answer, please be so kind to point me out in that direction.
Each time I do a flash of a new ROM I go through the process of installing the mayor things I need. Although I know that Shashimi (if I write it correctly) will solve this issue, I am trying to get to smoothing the job of some standard actions I do for each ROM.
I install my Resco Explorer 2008 and edit the registry.
I know all the specific entries I need, some are new, some are value changes.
There is a possibility in Resco to import .reg files. I tried to create my own by taking a .reg file I downloaded from here, but Resco complained it not being in the right format.
Can somebody inform how the file should look.
Is there a difference between value changes for an existing entry or new entries. Is there a certain Header which should be available.
I am sure these questions are answered somewhere, but the Wiki and Search did not let me find an answer.
And yes, I will go to Shashimi sometimes, but am not ready yet.
Thanks all in advance,
Ruud
I used TaskMgr to export some registry keys and it looks exactly like this:
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\BTRouter]
"BTBaudrate"=dword:003d0900
"BTPortName"="COM7:"
Hope this helps
Hi ZaxXx,
exactly this format is what I see around here. But trying to import this through Resco Explorer 2008 does not work. Also simply clicking on the (text)-file with this format does not result in the registry being updated to the contents of the file.
How would You re-import these registry entries, other than by hand?
Edit :
OK, I just tried to import a file which was exported by TaskManager, this actually works.
But my files, which look the same to me are rejected. Time to start looking real careful, what the difference is.
Regards,
Ruud
OK solved it.
Or at least to some extend.
I can import the file through TaskManager and the file is accepted without mistakes. The entries do appear in the registry after that.
BUT, Resco Explorer 2008 still judges the file corrupt and does not want to import.
It will save a lot of time like this, so I am happy.
Thank You,
Ruud
Some more solutions;
Howdy all,
Yesterday I pointed someone to UC Capable ROM you're going to love UC, for sure! ;

I'm using PHM Registry Editor it allows me to do the following tasks:
Explore the registry to find the operating system and applications configuration,
modify system and applications tweeks not available from the standard options screens,
export all or parts of the registry to .reg files,
backup and restore the complete registry and
perform search on the registry data
Export a key, look into it with notepad (ASCII) editor, then you'll know its format
Some more recent findings you might want to take a look into you need them anyway when you're getting into UC;

Use SK-Tools (not free, though partly functional) it exports registry and can create a cab! It has also a reg editor. Plus...

This Rollup is an excellent overall HTC FAQ IMHO. It'll give you a very good overall impression of how to flash a ROM.
When you too are in cooking ROM's then this thread 'll interest you!
When you PgDn you'll see Extendir Cabs a very nice CAB utility;

Hi
I use a WIZA100.
I have to install Mi_MediaSupportv2 (midi support).CAB to be able to use mid as ringtones >.> unfortunately that cab also disables pimg.exe as a side effect. I can't preview my camera pictures and I can't add pictures to my contacts
I want to explore the registry added by that cab, but it is compressed and everything appears scrambled. It is not stored as registry entries anyways
I need a cab editor or a program which lets me extract the registry keys from that file. I know there used to be something like that during the rom kitchens era.
Thanks!
Solutions found
I used the excellent program
CeCabMgr_Setup.exe by OCP software. It costs $100, so I will have to stop short after the trial.
I modified the cab so It didn't affect my pimg.exe It also uses up 1mb less from what the original file uses, still enabling my PDA to use MID and MIDI files as ringtones.
I will uploaded the modified file here.
I use a WIZA100 (htc 8125) with a customized rom (my spoon
