I'm going to be getting the xda IIi in a few weeks and I was was wondering if anyone could recommend a good keyboard and bt headset. Is the stowaway worth the extra 10 - 30 on the o2 keyboard? Aren't they made by the same people? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Keyboard
I have one.. It does work but, you have to hook up the cable to your serial port in the XDAII, is not too accurate especially in well lit areas, has to be on a flat surface.
It is cool and it is worth it just for the ooooowwwwss and Awwwwwsssss.
i use my xda 2 as a mp3 player in the car but i need some help. the micro jack that connects the xda to the stereo system gets loose after driving for a while which greatly reduces the sound cooming out of the speakers. any suggestions? thanks in advance......
maybe another converter ?
nah. dont think so. adapters that small are very rare here in the phil. ive tried to look for it at different malls but they really are not available. im using the adapter provided by nokia when you buy a 5510 ( my old phone). im just looking for a way to prevent it from dislodging from the xda2. hmmm, duct tape may be a good idea at this moment......
Bluetac!
expansys have 3 adaptors
or you could make one yourself canabalising an old xda headset
bluetac? is that available in the philippines? i wouldnt even dream of "cannibalizing" my o2 headset. its much too expensive to buy a replacement if ever i "murder" the thing. :?

All,
Does anyone know where I can get hold of a BMW car adaptor for the inbuilt Bluetooth system (you know the one in the centre console)?
I have just received a 5 series and cannot find a suitable adaptor. They exist for iPhone and Blackberry but not for a Diamond or any other HTC device...
Can anyone help me?
All the best,
Sam.
also looking for this snap-in adapter
Hi, have you found a suitable BMW snap-in adapter for your HTC?
I have a htc diamond touch and also looking for an suitable adapter.
Please let me know if you found one
Best regards
Bart
I've just got a BMW and am also interested in a cradle for a HTC Diamond or Diamond HD.
In the last 12months since the above post has anyone came across a suitable cradle? I'm primarily interested in using it to boost the signal strength with the external antenna.
The closest thing I found was this DIY guide: http://forums.5series.net/index.php?showtopic=60462
I'm reccomending checking out http://www.brodit.com/
I've just used it to buy mount + holder (Molex version) for my BMW 3 and TouchPro2
It's working very nicely connecting to bluettoth sysetm, and what's more important just looks nice
I know what you mean. I am also looking for cradle adapter for HTC Desire Z to put in original eldow space in BMW5, but it looks it is not existing.

Hi,
I'm looking for a recommendation of a good bluetooth handsfree car kit that works well with WM HTC (specifically the Diamond).
Currently running a WM6.5 build with MSVC1.6 installed.
Would ideally prefer a handsfree visor mount car kit ideally but happy to take suggestions of BT headsets as well.
Any XDA'ers have any good/bad experiences they can furnish me with to help make my decision.
Thanks in advance.
Happy with my Blueant Supertooh Light. Works well with the Diamond.
- Voice dial works, i'm using MSVC
- Connects automatically once you're within range
- Bought it 3+ weeks ago, haven't had another battery recharge yet!
I'm using MOTOROKR™ T505 http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/t505/ it's visor mount as you want. Have it for four month and happy with it! Picked it up in local cell store for 35 euro!
Battery last long, good sound though the device, also can be used through car speakers! Great price, can use with all bluetooth devices, portable size.
Search for videos on youtube, people posted reviews there that helped me made my mind up!
Been looking all over the web for one, but all that seems to be available are the generic "one size fits all" type that cover the USB port when in Portrait.
Has anyone found one that allows The Desire S to be used in Portrait AND be connected by USB ?
Thanks
Yes, on ebay professional seller is rpas5404
mount car htc desire s
"support pour htc desire S" in french
Desire S can be used in portrait or landscape and be connected with usb cable.
the plate is compatible with the Herbert Richter mounting solutions
Herbert Richter currently does not manufacture the plate of the desire S
in France a seller is Cricel
For me, the best mounting solutions are made by Herbert Richter.
Excellent !!
Exactly what I was looking for - THANKS
Linky, for anyone else who needs one :
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Vent-Moun...Accessories&hash=item3a658adea0#ht_2177wt_905
if you compare, you can see that this car mount is a clone of herbert richter product.
in this page, you have support for plate, suction cup, mounting air vent, support bike, etc.. for me it's better.
http://www.cricel.com/215-systeme_fixation_voiture_hr.html
I had an entire car mount HR HTC TD2 and I still use my old attachment with the plate for the desire S.
here french page for your old htc Desire: http://www.cricel.com/accessoires/2...tule_sur_grille_aeration_pour_htc_desire.html
sorry for my english
cadkey, thanks for all the info - very helpful.
Also, your English is very good. - A LOT better than my French
Merci beaucoup - votre aide est appréciée
I have order this one !
Mini Arkon Slimgrip car holder mount for HTC Desire S
http://cgi.ebay.fr/Arkon-IPM514-Sli...4453?pt=UK_Holders_Mounts&hash=item35b20f9d55
You can plug the usb cable and it will be useable with other device as well.
If it can hep others.
it's a generic holder, not a special for Desire S.
Looks like a good find. Can you let me know how long delivery took, and what the quality was like when you get it?
Thanks a lot
Ive gone for the Arkon holder too but with the vent mount attachment. £12.95 in UK. As we have an iphone and desire s being used in the car this seems to fit both and also allow charging on both!.
Brodit do ones specific for the Desire S
http://www.dsldevelopments.com/brodit/holder/HTC+Desire S-Brodit-Holder.asp
Juste received the arkon .
shipping took 2 weeks but thé custom had opened the package.
It s working well with the desireS.
Very happy. Much better than the cricel one that i have for my hd mini.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
I got two holder for my DS, both can charge, and the second one is better.
because the first one can not allow a phone with a protect shell or cover.
and you can take the phone out from the holder easily with one hand.

i made one my self bought one those lase shells from brando, didnt like it much, so glued (and screwed) it to an older holder for a dell PPC where the holding shell was removed. so all holes are free, i can even use the camera as it has a proper hole for it and sticks to the windscreen
Try to find original HTC car holder with charger - CU S470. The best one you can buy! Sorry for not being able to provide link since this is my first post...
I have ordered the car upgrade kit CU S470 for Desire S from the official HTC website yesterday, and got it this morning. i think it's the best choice for your device. looks good and works fine
After 2 different holders and no good fit, I decided to tweak my old holder: it works!
car mount for HTC Desire S
what about one of these? It allows access to charging port through side grips.
There is one on HTC market...
http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190564591456 this one seems fine. tell ya when i get it
so got it and guess what: it's perfect holds the phone safe, all buttons and connectors are reachable, camera works fine too.
