How can I increase the internal memory for the Jam. I have inserted a 1gb card but internal is too low?

I have a SanDisk 2GB Ultra II CF Card (that I purchased from a Staples) that I use in my PDA. I have a built in card-reader in my PC, and I use it to transfer files >> CF Card >> PDA. I formatted it in FAT32. I tried to transfer about 700MB of music that I own on my PC to the memory card...well, it worked, but it took 20 minutes just to transfer 700MB...when I should be seeing at least 3MB/sec. transfer speed...also today I transferred 17MB of map files for GPS use...and it too 35 seconds for 17MB of data. I haven't used an external USB Memory Card Reader...
But in ya'lls opinion, is something whack with my memory card? Or could it be the internal reader/writer? ...it never gets stuck during a transfer or anything like that. Transfers just fine, except it is slow as can be.

I have an older Asus a716 that has both a CF slot and an SD slot. What is the largest size memory card that will work in it? Is there a limit on WM2003 hardware/software that would limit it? I would like to put in a 16 gb CF card to hold a bunch of music for the car. Would this work? I assume a 16 gb SD card won't work since it would have to be High Capacity, which I don't think the SD slot is.
CF cards have memory management unit inside the card itself, so your device should recognize any of them.
I'm not sure about filesystem limitations, but I guess your device supports fat32.
I've just put my 4gb card into my LG Viewty and formated it. It has now somehow resized the card to 2gb so my X1 only see's a 2gb card.
I don't have a card reader on my PC so the only way to access it is via my Windows Mobile Phone.
How can I resize my memory card to 4gb using my phone?
For some reason, in the last week or two transfers to and from internal storage are super slow. Much slower than they've been in the past. There's plenty of space free, and transfers to the external SD card run at normal speed. Any suggestions?
Does this phone support adoptable storage? Anyone tried it with their phone?
I was thinking of buying a big MicroSD card with this phone. My XZ1 Compact has run out of internal space and force enabling adoptable storage breaks any app that is moved to the MicroSD card.
