Please delete this thread if this is nothing new
I have made the update and the anoying errors i had are fixed
It is easy to install.
Hi messiah!
How's the update? Do I have to reinstall all my apps afterwards?
Cheers
fishbone
After upgrading the firmware you have to reinstall your software.
But afaik you can make a backup before upgrading and you can use this backup for reinstalling.
But I haven`t tried it.
The update itself is veeery easy. Just start the .exe file and don`t panic if it dures longer
i tried and i'm not sure if it is real....
...the included radio stacks offers two settings for band:
900 + 1900, in germany is 900 + 1800.....
but it works with 1800
Where did you get that link from? Thanks for the info...
I wonder when they're ready with ROM 1.11 as Vodafone already is. Is it that complicated to fill Extended_ROM with their b*ll*hit?

im sorry if this has been discussed before but I tried SEARCH button and Im having problem connecting to the database. I also browse on some thread and I didn't see an answer to my query.
So here it goes...
I got an IMate Jam from the US (Band 850/1800/1900).
1.) Is it possible to install non USA ROM like O2 Asia, Qtek or iMate WWE? Because when I tried to install the WWE version it says incompatible device (not the country error). Should I just follow the procedure from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=MagicianRomUpgrade and everything will be fine?
2.) If ever that procedure will solve the problem.. will the band be changed to 900/1800/1900? (or is this a hardware thingy?).
2.a If it will not change the band, how bad will the signal be on a country that uses 900/1800?
2.b If it will change the band, will the reception be better?
Thanks and will wait for ur replies

Im currently living abroad in Germany and have purchased a Kaiser via T-Mobile, branded as MDA Vario III. Well I love the device but my german sucks and the whole OS is in german. Is there anyway I can flash to ROM to get an english version of the OS? If I did this would it still work in Germany via T-Mobile or is there some kind of lock to the current ROM? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yep! Just HardSPL, and then select an English ROM (most are) and flash.
Read the Sticky in this forum for guide lines on how to flash, and common problems and thier solutions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1846653&postcount=800
Go there and READ and READ. (Read the Wiki first). You will find all your solution there. Everything you need explained over there.
I will describe the procedures you will need:
1. Back up your stuff
2. Charge up your phone to 100% and connect to your pc with usb make sure ActiveSyn can see your phone
3. CID or SIM unlock your phone first if it is necessary then.
4. HardSPL your phone (You can find the information in the Wiki)
- If you encounter White Screen Problem, check the HardSPL White Screen
Issue - Solved!
5. Find a Rom that you like
6. Find the radio rom that rom supports
7. Flash the rom
8. Do a HARD RESET when you see the "Tab the screen to setup windows mobile..."
9. Flash the radio rom
10. You are DONE!!!!!!!
As long as it's GSM band, then it should all work. You might have to manually setup the 3G network for Germany on your phone.
Thanks for the feedback! My main concern was not knowing if it would work with my carrier after I do the ROM.
However the 3G network is a BIG deal 3G is soooo much faster than GSM. Is it even possible to manually setup the network afterwards?
Thanks again, you have been great!
you can always setup your 3G network manually afterwards. It's just a different rom version. It's like you install English version of Winxp on your PC instead of the German version. You can still setup your wireless connection for your PC.
Sine you are in Europe, I would suggest you use Dutty's WM6.1 Rom (The bluetooth has a bit of issue - not able to receive file transfer, but he's working on the RTM version with the fix). Dutty's rom is cooked based on the Vodafone rom (He's in England), so I would suppose there should be pre-set 3G setting for Germany as well.
Hello All,
Firstly let me apologize if this has been answered already, but after hours and hours of reading I am still unclear on a few points.
I want to be able to take a complete backup of my Stellar before I update anything in case of any future problems, so that if need be I can revert it back to the same state as it is in now before sending it back to O2.
1 - Is this feasible / possible?
2 - I know I can unpack and repackage the OS ROM, but what about the radio / spash logo & SPL?
3 - Can all the CID, Security and SIM locks be replaced if required?
Can anyone recommend the best course of action for me to take, so that I can dump everything first, in a format that can be easily re-flashed, before I start to load HardSPL etc and then suddenly find I am S.O.L and cant return one component to the original version..
If anyone would like copies of the original Firmware / Logo / Radio etc after I manage to dump them.. I'll be more than willing to share - provided you dont mind giving me hand with dumping etc
FYI - Here are the Versions on my device:
Radio: 1.27.12.32
Protocol: 22.45.88.07H
ROM Version (from Bootscreen): 1.82.00.00
ROM Version (from Device Info): 1.82.206.1 WWE
ROM Date: 10/04/2007 (Not sure if thats 10 April or 4 Oct)
WM6 Pro. CE 5.2.1622 (Build 18128.0.4.4)
Model No.: Kaiser
Thanks in advance...
you could try searching, someone has probably done all the dirty work in dumping and reconstructing the o2 rom already

From what I can tell, but I may be mistaken, this ROM is a different version to the Shipped / Reconstructed ones on the Kaiser Wiki...
Also, the splash logo on my Stellar, is definately different to the O2 splash logo that is available via download... Mine shows a 'wireframe landscape' while the other is the same bubbles splash that I had on my Wizard (O2 Xda Mini-S)...
I have a Stellar and would love a copy of the O2 ROM as I have flashed without backing up so if you manage it I'd be in the queue for a copy.
there is a rom available, but it doesnt restore the spl or the front splash screen. anyway these could be extracted?
hi
where is the rom located?
O2 Stellar ROM
seconded! I too now need the ROM, but have searched the site and the FTP to no avail, anyone have a dumped ROM that they can point me too please...
TIA

Getting ENergyROm running on INdian Touch Pro
Hi Francis,
I saw your signature and realised you might be able to help. I have a Touch pro too.
I flashed Energy ROM (the latest Sep 6 release).
After I did so, EDGE stopped working. I am in India too which means that the Touch Pro here has the 7201 processor and not the 7206 processor as is there in the rest of the world. 7201 doesn't support 3G. Max it can handle is EDGE.
In Energyrom, I saw the 3G option (on/off) in Communication Settings. Data connection (on/off) was also there. I could not turn data connection on at all.
I then went back to the HTC India official update that came in around Mar 09 on the HTC India site.
Before flashing Energy Rom I had this version anyway. In this version, the
3G option in comm. settings was never seen.
When I went back to HTC's rom, EDGE didn't work. I couldn't turn data connection on in this ROM. The funny thing is that the processor name had become 7206. I had read about this on another thread that flashing ROMs that are built for 7201 makes the processor name show up wrongly.
I updated rilphone for the 1.14.25.35 radio.
Even that did not help.
Then I again flashed using HTC India mar 09 ROM. This solved the problem.
You seem to have EnergyROM Sep 6 running?? How did you do it? Btw, am I missing any operator specific settings that I need to do. I have an Airtel Mumbai connection. It is now running on Mobile Office (EDGE).
Thanks!
Kunal

Solution to your Problem
Hey i am from India too
It took me a while to figure out but this is how it works
Energy ROM uses a different version of Connection Manager than other ROMS around here
So u need to set up manually. Its easy
Go to Start>Settings>Connections>Connection and go to the 2nd tab and delete the aircel settings listed there and then go to the first tab and Type the name of your Operator . For eg: "Vodafone" if u use Voadfone
Then switch off the 3G mode since our model doesnt support 3G
Thats it
Enjoy
Try to setup the manual connections first on EnergyROM. Dont delete the aircell though as deleting that causes some issues sometimes. Let us know if all this worked
I bought the Factory Unlocked HTC M8 from Amazon thinking it was the GSM version, but I was sent the Verizon version which is CDMA. This is a problem for me because I am in a GSM area of the world, see below;
Territory
Cayman Islands
GSM & CDMA Frequencies
900 MHz 1900 MHz
UMTS Frequencies
2100 MHz
LTE Frequencies
700 MHz (planned),1800 MHz (active)
The main problem this causes is that I can't access the Software Update section in the phone because this is only active on the CDMA network / SIM, is there any way around this?
I can deal with the bloatware as this can be removed (At least most of it), but if I can't update the phone I'll be pretty annoyed. Is there a way to convert a Verizon version to an international version or a way to update a verizon phone without the OTA updates from the carrier?
Sending the phone back is not really an option as it would end up costing a fortune in shipping fees etc. and I would be better of just getting rid of the phone and finding something else.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
once there are updates, i assume they will be posted on here and you can just download and install yourself.

Would that method wipe my data and settings from my phone? It would right?
not necessarily, OTA updates do not.
i do not know for a fact, only speculating on other phones with OTA files uploaded.

You need at least temp root be able to manually install the update, weaksauce works great for this. Once you have temp root you can download the OTA from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2722817 and then unzip and place the OTA.zip in /cache/fumo on your phone (I changed the permissions of the OTA.zip to allow read/write/execute as well). If you don't have a fumo folder in your cache create one and set the permissions to read/write/execute, for moving files and changing permissions I use root explorer.
Once you have the file in the correct location, flash the OTA through the stock recovery. That should be all, it worked for me...
Sent from my HTC One (M8).
