Hi Guys, I got the old XDA 2 with a few of normal accessories, charger cradle USB and in car cradle for the NAVMAN sat nav with bluetooth antenna,
Are the connection the same so I don't need to spend out for newer cradles????
Is there any benifit in upgrading??? will either do anymore than the current XDA II??? have they improved the camera and speaker which are not what you would call good and state of the art.
My apollogies if these questions have been asked before, any help and being ponited in the right direction would be much appreciated.
BTW I have looked at he o2 web site and that really didn't tell me much.
I personally would not upgrade. These things are just too damned expensive to buy a new one every few months, unless there is some grand improvement.
If you really want to upgrade, wait for the WM2005 devices.
If you really MUST upgrade now, get the IIi, unless you need/want the 850 band.
Thanks for your comments, do you know any more or anywhere I can find out about WM2005 devices

Hello peeps!!!!!!
Anyone here knows if this is true??? Is XDA III exist??? where's the proofs? What is the estimated price? larger than 1000 US Dollar? is in it?
if not then it would prob not be on the frontpage of this site
http://forum.xda-developers.com/front_page.php
but people feel it's not big upgrade compared to xda2 since the only difference is that it have wifi and a keyboard
There are allready some pre-sales sampels out to some providers.
XDA III has definitely been confirmed and XDA IV has been rumoured
EXTRA EXTRA read all about it:
http://www.msmobiles.com/index.php/0,0,1.html
Just a few pictures of MDA III, I had it in hands, it is heavier but the battery is 1500 mAh, wlan on board etc.. [email protected]
Does it have Voice Dialing via a Bluetooth Headset? Handsfree Profile? That's the major reason I'd want to upgrade.
Wow, looks great, thanks for the pictures.
Any idea on a release date? :?:
I must say, this device is very well endowed with buttons. I see eight just in front, without being able to see any side buttons. This is without the keyboard.
Extra buttons... I would love those on my xda 2, so I could make it a more one-handed device.
Surur
Yeah one thing I dont realy like with my P800, no buttons on front, two on the side, Camera and internet(not opera! some no javascript browser!) The jog dial, which was great. But you can do anything with one hand!
So the XDA3 with keyboard and buttons is the reason why I am jumping boats from P800 to XDA LAND!
Can some body comfirm me that you can now buy this phone in Germany? I was in a T-Mobile shop today asking when it would come out and she said it was out in Germany stores but Austria is about 4months behind.
I dont think she is right, but just incase have anyone seen it there? or heard of some new info on the web, I can find anything new about it?
thanks
If my information source is correct I beleive the MDA III is coming out in Germany and the UK in September!
I have had my XDA2i for just over a year now, but had it replaced just before the contract was up under the warrenty. I have just got a new wizzard from o2 on another years contract, I now stuck on which one to sell and which one to keep.
The wizzard has a smaller screen & slower CPU but wm2005.
The XDA2i is bigger & is WM 2003SE but seems a lot faster.
is there much diffrence between 2003 & 2005.
Apart from that i can't see much else between them, can any post some suggestion on which they would keep & why ?
Cheers
Thanking you in advanced
Im using XDA 2i and felt sad about there's no WM5 upgrade and no extended rom unlocker yet. Hope will be available one day.
Yes Xda 2i working fast, I really felt it and I never had any problem even playing heavy games.
Hope someone expert about WM5/WM2003SE can explain more at here.
thanks
Hi guys,
After having my Uni for a good while now and the HTC Monet before that, I've gotten quite attached to the whole smartphone shebang. I've got some cash to spend on a new one though, and was hoping that some of you guys could give me advice on what to get. I've picked a few that appeal to me, and any other suggestions in the same price range would be great.
I wouldn't object to second hand phones but only if they're good quality (like Computer Exchange's A-grade) and almost as new.
Right now, I'm thinking:
HTC Dream - Not a beautiful thing, but I'd like to see whether I prefer Android or WinMo; what's the general consensus on this?
HTC S740 (Rose, I think)
HTC Diamond
HTC Raphael
If I could choose one of these phones to have right now, it would definitely be the Raphael as it has everything I want (touch screen, QWERTY, GPS) and more. But there's a pretty large price difference between this and the others, and I don't know if it's worth another £100+ more than a Diamond just for the QWERTY keyboard and an FM radio.
The Diamond is one of my favourites, but after having a Uni for so long I'm a bit scared of having to tap out texts with the touch screen only - is this easy?
That problem is solved with the S740, however I don't really want to have to use WMS and a smallish screen for everything.
One final question as I'm a still a slight n00b - the AGPS systems don't cost anything to run after you buy something like TomTom 7, right? I'm not on a great contract and 3G access would cost me, so I don't want to keep having to access Google Maps or something every time I want to find my way around.
Anyway, thanks for reading. Sorry if I accidentally aggravated you guys by posting in the wrong board.
I added a poll too because it might make answers easier and, well, it looks pretty.
I'd get HTC Rose.
The best keyboard imo. The only other phones with keyboards that beat the crap out of it are HTC Touch Pro2 and Nokie E90.
Thanks, but how much would I miss out on with WMS?
Get the latest & greatest: the Touch Pro 2! See the Rhodium forum section for details...
As much as i would love a shiny Touch Pro2, there's no way I can afford it, both on contract and alone.
Maybe I should wait and see if the original Touch Pro gets any cheaper once the 2 is out...

Forgot to mention the best keyboard ever: Universal one!
even with its 4 years old the size of the keys and its confortability and size make it the best to this date!

If you are patient enough you can get a tp with a very low price, just wait till december when 2010 models go anounced and you´ll see!
consumism has a good side as all gets old very very fast...
by the way tp2 is out since a month or so!
if you need a keyboard the best option is tp from your list
Thanks Orb. Yeah, I have pretty much fallen in love with the keyboard on the Universal and it's the reason why I want a decent one on whatever I buy next. I sort of wish I didn't ask about the TP getting cheaper, because I want it now . Stupid impatience. Isn't Windows Mobile 7 supposed to be released in 2010? Maybe it would be worth waiting for that if it has multi-touch and things. I assumed that stuff won't work on most (if not all) existing handsets(?).
While we're talking, how much do you like your S621? I know a guy who got one when someone else upgraded, and he basically has no idea what it is nor how to use it. I was thinking of buying it cheap and messing with it a bit (I'm not considering it as a possible new phone).

If you wanna wait for wm7 then prepare to pay more for a device wich has it included!
I asume that it´s a matter of budget, so wm7 will not be cheap when its launched (I don´t think we see it before Sept 2010)
As for noble S621 I think a reasonable price (depending on the conditions) is around 100-150USD, it´s a great smartphone, but have a look on marketplace before you make your desicion, as you can find very good deals on used devices from trustable members.
Good luck then,
Oh, I definitely can't be bothered then
Someone will probably get something working on the popular devices anyway.
I think it's actually an Exaclibur (S620) but it has an AZERTY keyboard because it wasn't from the UK, and I could probably buy if from him for about £15 if I'm lucky. Although, it is a bit scratched.
I'll probably end up going for the original Touch Pro, maybe now or maybe when it's cheaper. Anyone got any cheap and good sites/shops? Except for things like eBay and Computer Exchange.
Yeah it´s the Excalibur S621 or S620 is almost the same.
If you can buy it for 15 pounds please let me know where!
I want one really!
Have you visited marketplace section on this forum?
I would go 1st than to go any other site as you can find good deals!
I just bought a Touch Pro @ good price.
let me know about the cheap excalibur please, I´m interested.
Cheers,
Okay, thanks for the tip.
I've asked about whether or not the Excalibur is up for grabs, but I think the keyboard is AZERTY rather than QWERTY (I don't know what they use in Mexico).
we use qwerty but I can get used to new layout...
still interested!
Cool, I'll tell you when I get a reply but it's possible that I won't be able to get my hands on it until September. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for your TP?
Ok
Let me know
PM sent with your question
Thanks. So I guess the general idea is just to save up for a Touch Pro. And hopefully AGPS is free

hey marwansaleem.im from karachi and yea i happen to have an x7510 lying around with me which i dont use much these days. the phone is in top shape except that there is a little bump on the backside. and the leather casing the plastic hooks are broken but i guess u can easily get those replaced. Else I have a personalized casing for it. please email me your offer or send me a message on this account
Alright, I recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100T and was immensely impressed. I had the option of getting a Galaxy S3, but it looked abit ugly in my opinion
What's happened now, is that I have a spare Acer Liquid Metal that I use as a door-stopper and paperweight. I was wondering, is there anything cool that I can do with it apart from selling it?
It doesn't have too high specs, after all, I did get it for $128 AUD. The basic specs are the following:
-800Mhz Single Core Scorpion
-Adreno 205 GPU
-800x480 screen
On top of that, it's rooted and has t&l metal 2.3.6 with TechnoLover's kernel running on top of that.
Comment on what you think I'd be able to do with it, thanks
i will be sell it and change other one or bue a new phone
you can give those who need a phone or you can deal with it as a second hand
You can use it as an android Touch.

Try a website like gazelle.com
Or recycle it at a Staples or Best Buy
There are also a lot of devs that can use old phones as test platforms when developing apps. I'd recommend finding some projects you'd like to support and ask the dev if they'd like to have your old phone for testing on.
Consider converting it into an mobile audio player
I loaded up an old smartphone with mp3 files, including music and audiobooks, and paired it with a motorola roadster portable speaker (around $50-$70). I then dropped my satellite radio subscription, so now, when I'm out and about, I'm able to listen to just the music I want to hear, with no commercials, come-ons, or monthly fees - including data overage fees resulting from streaming content from the internet. I originally stopped using the smartphone because it was a lousy phone. Makes a very good in-car audio player, though.
sure you l get a buyer ..not one....................... more guys are rushing for an android cell......:good::laugh:
use it as a universal remote for a media centre
sent from the thing I stab with my finger when I've got two minutes
Sell it, or donation it to a project you will could use it , you could install linux on it and get a full pocket computer! (See my project in sig) or use it as some form of controller if you have devices that can use it (many smart devices etc support this)
Sell it would be best unless you wan to save it for a spare! The price shld fetch you some accessories or something for your current phone!

you can give those who need a phone or sell in ebay
Root it, put an awesome rom on it, install all your apps and stuff you use regularly and keep it as a back up phone. You never know when yours will break or go missing, its ALWAYS a good idea to have a back up phone that already has all your stuff on it... Good rule of thumb would be to add any new apps and phone numbers to this phone once a month, just in case. You may need to run somewhere while flashing a new rom to your GSII, so you can just throw your sim in this phone and your good to go! So my vote says keep it as a backup.
I always keep a spare device or two, just in case something goes wrong in my primary device. Also, I can lent it to friends in need of a cellphone until they get a new.
i would sell it as well..
Old phone use

I have an old HTC Incredible with no phone service that I use in place of my iPod Touch and as a VoIP phone with Google Voice and Talkatone on WiFi.

Just keep it? You'll never know what kind of information people can recover from you phone storage.
