Upgrading Singapore O2 Mini to iMate 106

Has anyone sucessfully upgraded a Singapore O2 Mini to the latest iMate 106 firmware? Will really appreciate the sharing of experiences.

Had to take my O2 back to the shop because ofthis. I live in hong kong and it says on the label for my o2 its from singapour.

What steps did you do to "brick" the O2?

Yep. I upgraded to the 1.06 earlier. Then i flashed again to the 1.11 ROM, and then again to the 1.11 ROM which 27MB unlocked extended ROM.
Everything's cool.

Which 1.06 and 1.11 firmware did you use?

I used the Qtek one. The latest (and current) one that I have uses the copy from Anansky (see thread in Forum\Magician).

Understand that O2 is releasing its updated firmware very soon (this quarter). Wondering if it is 1.06 or 1.11? Will the O2 Plus be included in the EXT-ROM?

After upgrading to 27MB ROM, some extROM files were missing.. e.g. O2_connect and T9 Phone pad... Do you need to back up the extROM beforehand and manually copy back after the upgrade?

Yep. I backup the 1.11 extended ROM before i re-flashed to the 1.11 w/ Big Storage (which doesn't come with any extended ROM). After the re-flash, install the programs you want from the extended ROM you backed up. You should have a copy from the original extended ROM that came with your Mini so you can install those telco specific settings (eg. Starhub, Singtel) etc.

Need Help with an Upgrade! Please

I bought my Magician on eBay and it is the best phone I have ever had. The phone is amazing. But of course 2 months have passed and I am dying to improve the phone. The Brand is a DOPOD 818, which is the HTC Magician or iMate JAM.
I see everyone here has the ROM 1.06, mine is 1.01.00WWE with a ROM Date of 10/21/04/ I am sure I should be upgrading my ROM for the enhancements but I am not sure how or where to go.
Everyone says to go to Club iMate but unfortunately my IMEI is registered through DOPOD and not iMate. The DOPOD site does not look like it has an updated ROM.
Can I use a generic ROM? Where can I get one? I am in the USA using T-Mobile, if that helps.
Please let me know what I should do.

you will need to do a lot of readings before upgrading... and if your device doesn't have any problems then don't upgrade... the latest version from imate is really bad.. i have tried it and went back the old one which 1.03.00 ... anyways go to this ftp ftp://xda:[email protected]/Magician/
and you will all the latest ROMs....

i-mate JAM "Bluetooth hardware not installed" prob

I have this problem with my JAM and I cannot resolve this since february.
It also does not work with ROM version 1.12 WWE.
Can everybody help me?

I don't remember I have "BT not found" problem after I update to 1.12 rom

Hi,
I had the same problem after installing the 1.12 WWE rom, but it fixed after a soft-reset....

I get the 'no bluetooth installed on this device blah blah' on the original rom on my MDA compact. It says it about every third time when switching on BT.

Upgrading to WM6

Since nobody has answered me on where I can download the CID unlocker for my G3 Dopod 818 pro as the link doesn't work, will it give me an error if I try to upgrade and will my Dopod still work if it fails as I am not sure if my Dopod is locked or not, it's from Singapore and I have installed V2 on with WM5 recently.

Please give me more details as to whether will be able to update my ROM as well as install the WM6.

Well, AFAIK k-jam and xda miniS are all versions of the Wizard. If you can upgrade your miniS, so you can k-jam too.
