Powering external devices from PDA - General Topics

Hi,
is there any possibility to power external devices from Wallaby/Himalaya? I need about 3.3V - 20mA. I didn't find suitable pins in the PDA's connectors. Have somebody any ideas?

external device

Hi
Does anyone try to connect an external device (like an portable hard disk or an flash memory stick) to diamond?
Hi.
This question has been answered a number of times...
The diamond does not provide any USB Host capability. Thus, it's not possible to attach external devices to its ExtUSB port.
Some attempts have been done using special 'home made' cables, but today to no avail.

It´s a Y cable, to add SD card.
This is used to to the Wlan calibration.
A SD i58 files is inserted, after booloader he loads diagnostic tools and after that you run a software that will config WLan calibration.
BTW, the software has more then a million config files, he will search the correct file for that keypad PCB.
HTC demands service centers to do this after changing the keyboard PCB.
this is USB cable For Diamond
To be exact, this is an USB Y-Cable with a card reader and a power supply attached. The Diamond bootloader can read from the SD Card (not only for calibration, you can also update roms from the attached storage). The power supply is needed because the Diamond itself cannot supply 5V to the card reader.
it's possible to repair diamond with this tool?

[Q] OTG cable with additional power

Hello, I got this OTG cable but it has additional power plug and it might be used with hard disks, because it support additional power for disk, otherwise it wont work.
Question is: if it utilizes external power from AC adapter (stock one from my tablet) does it drain my tablet's battery just like memory stick via regular OTG? Or it just consume power from external adapter?

How to connect an Android TV stick to a computer?

How do I connect my Android TV stick to my laptop? It has no reset or power on button. Just a microsd slot and two USB ports: a regular one and a mini usb one.
Hi can you tell us a little more about your device what make brand ect ect also some photos would really help
yes model number would help a lot.
usually it is going to be connected via the regular USB connector to the PC. Then you should see the internal and/or external SD cards as part of your computers resources.
Power on and off is by plugging in the power source, which sounds like it is micro-usb. Then remove to power off.
additional tips...
Some additional tips; I hope they can help...
In the OS settings, under "Device", subheading "USB", make certain that "connect to PC" is checked.
Also, if you use a microUSB-to-USB cable to connect the dongle to your PC, make certain you use a cable that you know has all four wires internally connected.
- I was going nuts one time, trying to figure out why I could not get the stick PC to connect over USB, and it turned out I was using a cheap microUSB-to-USB cable that was intended for power ONLY. (it had only the two power wires in the cable, and not the two data wires). Swapping the cable out solved that dilemma.
Cheers!
