I have a samsung saga with windows mobile 6.1 and voice command version 1.6.20961. my phone will alert me via voice of upcoming events, appointments, and incoming phone calls. is there any app that will notify me of incoming text messages? currently if i receive a call from my mother for example, i get a voice that says "incoming call from mother". how can i get this same thing for my text messaging? when i text comes in from my mother i would like it to alert me the same way as my incoming phone calls. example...."incoming message from *****". is there an app that does this?
thank you
Hi, I can't think of any, but there is rather silly but working idea is that you either record your voice via notes, or downloading a sound, and under sounds and notifications in the settings folder, navigate to the notifications tab and select Messaging: New text message, and select your sound file, which is either Recording for the recorded notes file or your respective sound file. For the sound file, place it in my documents. This solution is only for all text messages and not for respective text messages from your contacts.
Hope I Have Helped!
I am sorry if there is already a post with this question. I searched Google and XDA and didn't find any that were my question.
What I was wondering was if there was a way to have a different notification tone for email, voicemail, missed call and text messages. Right now, when I select my notification tone, it's the same tone for all.
Thanks in advance for your help.
I noticed today that if you set the main tone, then go to your sms inbox and click menu>settings>notification settings you can change the sms tone. Not sure about vm though, never tried.
Ha! You are awesome! That was totally it! I guess that the notification setting in Display and Sounds is the default for any message, but each application has a seperate setting that could be applied.
I did notice that when I set my notification tone in the messaging application, new messages set off both tones...the sms alert followed by default alert.
Thank you!

please Help: i don't receive notifications for incoming messages for the App "Signal"
Hi guys
Since 4 days I've been looking for this problem.
I do not receive notifications for messages from signal outside the app.
Working:
Incoming calls notifications
In app notifications
Not working:
Notifications for messages are not shown no vibrations either.
Already tried:
Restart, obviously
Reinstalling the app
Re-registration
Disconnected from Google accounts
Further information:
No battery or do not disturb Modi activation.
Since some weeks I did not receive notifications for incoming calls on my amazfit stratos
I don't know what to do.
Please help.
Edit:16.10.19
By accident I see that I do not receive notifications from the Outlook App either. Same settings as aforementioned. GMail does work. I cannot see notifications symbols in the status bar.
WhatsApp notifications work though.
Kind regards
So I set my defaut sms app not to be system messanger but google/android messanger app.
In sound settings, I have sms ringtone set to play specific tone and notification sound to play something else. But when I receive a message, my phone does not play sms ringtone but it plays notification sound tone.
What do I need to do to make sms notifications play sms tone instead of default notification sound tone?
Anyone?
Anyone going twice?
You're not using Oneplus sms app...and googles app is not system app... that's why your system thinks that its just another notification from normal app and not sms sound...
