Can someone please help me unlock an MDA compact. I recently upgraded from a BA to an MDA CompactII aka Magician sim locked to T-Mobile. In past I unlocked my BA no problems with the tools on the site.But have tried the the tools posted by 'ITSme and Machinagod' but to no avail. THe model I have is model number PM200 and it is running windows mobile 2005 OS 5.1.195 Tried lokiwiz but always get an error message whilst following the instructions precisely. Can this phone be unlocked or do I have to contact T-Mobile and pay them for an unlock code?

My mistake sorry Compact II is actually known as the CHARMER
Sorry I believe I made an error the Compact II is not otherwise known as the Magician but the CHARMER. My apologies.
No harm telling us what sort of error messages are displayed when you tried to unlock your phone.

Thanks to all I just noticed that there were new versions of lokiwiz out 3 & 3A. Managed to unlock using 3.0 but only after installing and executing the enablerapi.cab file on my device. Thanks again..JD76
Trying to unlock MDA compact II
Hello people.... I'm trying to download a software to unlock my PDA.... found a website http://www.ecompserv.co.uk/unlock-mda-compact.html that charged me £6 to download a software.
When I run the software from the device it give a message saying 'unknown deviece type PM 200 see xdadev_all_unlock.log file for details'.
Does anybody can give me some help to unlock this devide?

that tool doesnt support the PM200 (charmer/mda compact 2) and shame on them for charging for a program that is avaliable free on here!! to unlock use lokiwiz 3 thats on here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=265928

I have been researching many websites without any luck. I am new to Windows Mobile devices and looking for some assistance in Application Unlocking the C600/Tornado.
I have seen some posts about flashing it with the Imate ROM. The phone itself is sim unlocked however I am trying to install some third party applications and it is stating I don't have enough permissions.
I have tried various Registry editors but they won't install.
Can anyone help?

I have tried using the HTC Unlocker. It states unable to open regedit.exe. I have also tried SDA_Applicationunlock.exe I get the message "Phone is not unlockable".
This is driving me crazy, can anyone help.

Hey guys
I have followed the above steps to unlock my phone, and I'm still gettting an "Invalid Sim card" error.
I have tried just about every unlocking app or method there is, and still no luck. I have a new SPV C600 which I got on an Orange contract about a year ago. And it's security locked so I can't edit the registry, and I can't install any certificates either.
And though I tried the 1, 2, 3 step method above, and tho it told me it was successfull on all 3 steps, my O2 sim card still doesn't work.
Waahhaaaa....

Hi Guys,
I've been trying to unlock my SPV C600 following the instructions mentioned above. However, in order to complete these 3 steps, seems that I need an additional application to open the file extension .cpf found on steps 1 and 3.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with addtional download or instructions to solve to my issue pleaaaaase.
Also, should I put a different simcard, orange simcard or leave without simcard while I run the application on the phone?

GUYz MY PROBLEM IS HUGE. I AM STUCKED ON A THREE COLOUR SCREEN ON MY SPV C600 CEEL WHILE I WAS TRYING TO UPGRADE IT. THE ONLY ROM THAT SEEMS TO WORK , ONLY STOP AT 2% (WM5) DURING THE PROCESS. WAT SHLD I DO. I HAVE BEEN ON THIS FOR ABOUT 2WEEKS. PLZZZZZZ HEP [email protected] IS MA EMAIL
Seems like the same story over and over again... sigh.
You first must get access to the old OS again. As you have not succeeded in doing any upgrade yet, the old OS should still be there. Do a hard-reset:
1.) switch off
2.) press l+r softkey + keep pressed until a next step tells to release them
3.) switch on device
4.) wait for white screen with advice on hard-reset, release L+R softkeys
5.) press key for hard-reset (should be 0)
Device reboots to old OS.
When old OS is up you MUST(!) application unlock the device before you can do anything else. The Orange devices are especially resistant to allow this crucial first step. I have no such device, but key to success is that SDA Application unlock tells that your device is successfully unlocked.
Look for C600 Unlock to find dedicated instructions.
Mind that after the application Unlock you need also the CID Unlock and (if SIM locked) also the SIM Unlock. All is possible for free, so no need to spend money for that.

I checked this forum for mails how to update my MDA vario. I did some things like unlock CID. It was already SIM unlocked.
I was able to download a ROM upgrade (doesn't matter which one). After going thru the screens and let my MDA vario restarted. But after restarting it has still the Microsoft Windows Mobile version 5.0.
I have no idea what I have to do more.

Karhoe's guide is the bes,t always stick to it. If you like WM standard then you can try Gregory's mw6.5 it is quite stable and good(may be best). If you want to try on a Pro one then Kamikadze's mw6.1 Pro is very stable, fast and wonderful. I personally have good experience with both on my sp5m.
But never try to flash before SuperCID, never run format ALL. First you read all the risk associated, otherwise your phone will become a paperweight (expensive paperweight). Good luck

There are reports about an offline tooling for putting the SuperCID on the device. It seems to be designed for the Wizard originally but also reported working for other devices, including the Tornado.
Look up this forum and search for "lokiwiz02_173.zip".
I have not done this myself as my device is already SuperCID.
So you are doing this at your own risk.

* If you cannot use SPV-Developers SuperCID tools, download this tool and use the alternative method. Then do the following.
- Keep your Tornado connected to ActiveSync.
- Extract it with WinRAR etc.
- Open the Lokiwiz.exe
- When you opend the Lokiwiz.exe you will get a black DOS screen with 4 options:
U. Unlock
L. Lock
C. Cid Unlock (SuperCID)
Q. Quit
Press C and then Enter. A few seconds later your phone is SuperCID...!!!

I have a Orange SPV M500 and i have decided to flash it.
I've been trying to do it by myself, following the tutorials from this forum, but unfortunately my phone in the bootloader after i press next in the "you have this ... and it's gonna be uploaded to this ...." screen.
When I reboot it, I get this information

D 1.06.00 WEE
I've been using a Windows 7 and a Vista with the Windows Mobile Device Center to do this (since i don't have a XP, although I did tried to use one, from a friend of mine, only to get the 120 error)
i've tried a lot of different rom's and radio's only to get stuck at the bootloader.
can anyone help please? i would reaaaaly like to be able to do this...
go back to your frind's xp machine (recharge battery before)
extract rom somewhere (you need to se files os.nbf, radio_.nbf, ms_.nbf and some other files)
download this file and place it to same folder and execute it
and enjoy you magician
I finally got it working but now I'm having difficulty in unlocking the phone. Can someone help on that? I've followed every tutorial using the unlocker software. So does anyone has any tip on how to do it in the Orange SPV M500?
