I have the magician which I bought from Taiwan.
Unfortunatly, it is sim locked and its language is not English.
How can I unlock the device?
Also, how do I change the rom language? just flashing an English rom or should I do something special?

Flashing it with the English ROM will make it speak English.
Howevwer, that won't unlock it.
Ask the sellers from Taiwan to give you an Unlock code.
T-Mobile Netherlands sel the Locked MDA Compact. They give an unlock code for 110 Euros or thereabouts.
Isnt there any way to unlock it using some kind of an unlock tool like we did in the XDA II or in the old XDA?

The Magician is relatively new, I don't know who makes the unlock tools but it seems like they're either not working on making one or they haven't made it yet.
In that sense, it'd be smart to wait for one to be released. My preference would be t return/sell the Netherlands version, buy a German one and flash it to whatever language you prefer.

I read (I think on the Expansys forums) that the MDA Compact devices as sold in Germany (ie by nowicom) are SIM-lock free!

Then YOU have the Intellipad.cab and the Intellidialer.cab in English sitting in your ExtROM / Vdisk.

You get access to the ExtROM /VDisk by after a hard-reset and just before the customisation starts soft-resetting the device.

PocketMe: cprog.exe is a rom prog and thus cant be extracted from the device . . .
Its the rom filesystem that makes this impossible . . .

Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to uninstall Intellipad.
Once I installed it I could no longer get any input method to take place other than trhe keyboard. The options for Intellipad and Calligrapher and Block Recopgnizer were ther but it would not change to them when you clicked on them.
If it's not listed in Settings > System > Remove Programs, I'd guess you'd need to hard reset. :?:

I called to the T-Mobile Klant services today and they said they will send me the Dutch one.
I have no idea how it happens to the T-Mobile Netherlands.

hmm the Dutch one?? I don't think that's completely true. For instance, only a part of the menu is dutch, and there is so such thing as dutch T9 yet.
But... where does the unlock tool stay? 120 euro :shock: is to expensive

en easier to use it in english. Could someone help us to crack this simlock 8)
To be exact: There is no Dutch language PocketPC. All PocketPC's in the Netherlands are sold with an English operating system. So, the MDA Compact also comes with an Englsh Operating System.
Aside from that, I am not a developer or hacker, and I am not capable of cracking a simlock, sorry. I am also waiting for someone here to find the crack

I have a Dutch M600 (all the text is in Dutch) and it is quite, well, cumbersome. Is it possible to reflash it with some default (non-branded) let's say QTek S200 English ROM? I'm quite new to this and I do not know if the fact it was sold as custom-branded will make any problems.
If it is possible, give me some pointers (thread links, etc.) I searched but I didn't find this specific case to be touched. Thanks in advance.

From what I understand the M600 is just a HTC Prophet, so yes you can flash a standard Qtek s200 WWE like this (the last official Qtek release) ftp://xda:[email protected]_S200_2.20.7.34_2.47.21_2.20.7.114_WWE.zip
As you're going from dutch to english you need to use the novendor romupdate utility ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Prophet/Tools/ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.zip or another option is to CID unlock your M600 (for now only possible on G3 devices) It's all pretty simple, use search and read the forum and it will get you there.
In case of doubts, just ask, succes marl

Your answer is exactly what I was hoping for. Until now I'm using M500 and because it has WWE F/W i wasn't interested in all these technical terms. Could you tell me what does it mean CID, AKU, and the other abbreviations that one can see here on the forum? How can I discover whether my Prophet is G3 or G4?

CID= Country ID (basicly it's prrotection so you can't use other firmware then the one your provider supplied) G3 device can be CID unlocked easly, G4 devices not. Check the last digits your bootscreen, if you see x.xx.000 it's G3, if you see x.xx.001 it's G4)
AKU= Adaption Kit Upgrade= Upgrades to the OS, provides fixes and new features (Like pushmail for example). Check out this URL http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/articles/wm-aku-en.shtml

CID unlocked devices you can backup to SD using terminal software over USB, use search on the forum. CID locked devices are a different story, but the XDA ftp contains most orginal vendor firmware. Most of the time restoring is not really an issue. Keep in mind that you can not downgrade IPL/SPL once you upgrade. You can downgrade the Extrom, OS and Radio without touching the IPL/SPL so this is normaly no issue.

I am planning to get a Vodafone 1615 (HTC Kaiser) in Netherlands but my phone vendor says that it is available with him only in Dutch. I would like to change it to an English version but the forums here don't give me a conclusive answer, i.e. they talk about Kaiser, AT&T tilt, etc but not vodafone 1615.
Can someone help me with:
1. Where can I get an English ROM? preferably Vodafone 1615 English ROM or a English ROM upgrade that has worked on a vodafone 1615?
2. How do I go about upgrading the ROM? I have seen the instructions regarding HardSPL and just wanted to confirm if I can just go with tha.
Unfortunately, getting it from another vendor is not an option for me. And at this time, I am not too bothered about a SIM unlock.

2. HardSPL is the same as for the Verizon Ozone (CEDA100)
3. I don't think there are any Cedar ROMs in Italian. You may be stuck with english.
Be advised that using Verizon ROMs will mess with the keyboard layout. Once I get some free time, I'll look into cooking a Telus 6.5 ROM (if they don't release one).

I have a Telus S510 that I am now using on AT&T network. Is it ok to install the 3volution ROMS from this website...I assume they will change to the Ozone style keyboard, but will everything else be ok?

I had a 3Vo 6.5 rom installed. The keyboard did change to ozone layout (easy to fix through remapping), and I found the wifi to be kind of flaky compared to the stock telus rom.
Hi I recently acquired an HTC Oboe T9199 phone and it is natively in Chinese. I would like to learn how to flash this phone using an english rom to make the language english. Unfortunately I have no idea how to do this, also where to get the rom.
I appreciate all the help and look forward to any replies.
Also I will be using my Tmobile sim card with this phone.

this seemed impossible.because this phone is not hacked, the SPL is locked..you cannot use any rom but only the official rom, which has not been updated for a very long time.
