motorola hs850 and xdall - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Accessories

I got this BT headset for a present to myself.....apparently i can barely be heard at the other end when using it, i can hear clearly at the headpeice so i done an experiment.....it seems that my voice is being picked up through the phone mouthpice rather than the BT mic......i know this because if i put the phone behind a door and talk i can not be heard at all !!!.....anyone else had this problem or am i doing something stupid ??

Which ROM are you using? I had the same problem on my XDAII after upgrading to 2003SE. Used Pocket Bluetooth Tools as a workaround.
Regards..............Gboye

hmmmm...i had already upgraded to 2003se prior to getting BT headset......so this blue tools will do the job ??

xda mini speaker problem

perhaps anyone else encountered the same issue - i don't know any further with this:
after flashing the o2 xda mini german with the bigstorage rom from: ftp.xda-developers.com/Magician/BigStorage_ROMs/DE_O2_1.12.01.zip
via sd/boot-method the speaker doesn't seem to work anymore correct.
it seems like the speaker on the back of the magician is only working when a call comes in, but not for alerts, sounds or a mp3player like mortplayer or wmplayer.
also the speaker and the mic at the front of the mini aren't working.
so i flashed the device again with the original rom, but it isn't working anymore, also not with all the other available roms.
so i tried to adjust the preamp with no success.
let's see if i wake up tomorrow without a bell
I believe you have a hardware problem and has nothing to do with the ROM. There are threads and a PDF file showing how to dismantle and fix the speaker contact.
hmm i don't think so - why should it play the ring sound when someone calls? i also checked if it is the speaker on the back side which is playing the ring sounds - and: yes - it's the one on the back side
No sounds after just 6 months of use on my O2 Xda II mini!
Hi lindsche:
I also have the same problem - no sound coming out of my O2 Xda II mini EXCEPT for the ringtone for incoming calls. I have not installed any new software on my device and I have only had and used this device for 6 months! The only way I can hear anything from the device (including phone conversations) is through the use of the audio ear phones. I have been in contact with O2 Technical Support from the Asia Pacific Region (where my device was purchased) who have been suggesting all kinds of different resets stuff to no avail thus far.
By the way, where is the speaker located on this device??
Any advice would be much appreciated.
yeah, i think its hardware too, i had the same experiance with my wallaby (siemens sx56). The problem was from the audio jack. There is a small switch inside the jack that stuck so the device thinks that you are using handsfree. i tried to plug and unplug it but it make the problem worst. if been looking for the jack parts everywhere but couldnt find one. so when i got my new magician, i always plug and unplug the handsfree very very very carefully.
to upcityhighroller and lindsche: i believe your problem is in your audio jack. if you able to hear the ringtone, but not able to hear phone conversation and other sound, that means your phone thinks you are using the handsfree. best think you can do is check inside the jack with flashlight , make sure its clean and nothing stuck inside.
as per someone else's advice found in this forum, i tapped the device against my palm and the sound came back! i'm very happy EXCEPT now my power button won't work!! my temporary solution is to unlock the buttons so that I can turn on the device using any of the other buttons but now I also have NO other way to shut the device down! (I'm force to wait for 2 minutes of inactivity before it shuts down.)
Any suggestions??
Many thanks!
Not able to pick a phone call using handsfree ear phone.
Hi !
Bought O2 XDA mini, a couple of weeks ago....
I am not able to pick any call when handsfree is connected to O2 mini. I can the hear the ringing tone and listen MP3 too using the handsfree....
I have tried the handsfree on another O2 mini phone and is working absolutely fine...
I called the O2 service center and they asked me to do hard reset....
If it still does not work, they have asked me to give it to service center for repair...
I was wondering if anyone had experienced the same problem... If so, what is the resolution.??
kindly share your views... thanks.
-Raj
hey i had a simialr problem.......even i hard resetted but the problem persisted.....but when i charged my battery it worked fine...i guess our phone doesnt accept calls if the battery is below 20%
I was desperatly searching the net for a solution and did what you guys were talking about and tried cleaning the headphone jack, i recommend using an air compressor and while u have music playin in media player just gently blow air into the jack, and if that doesn't work try a little more air, the air seemed to clean most of the dust and whatnot that had clogged it, i just had to give it some firm but gentle taps with my palm and and it works fine now. Releived, as i was just about to buy a second hand replacement
Have the same problem with my Mini.
Couldnt hear and be heard during calls, brought the phone to the service center,
they replaced the hardware yet in the end they couldnt figure out whats wrong.
Im using 1.12 right now do you think it would help if i upgrade or downgrade my ROM?
Need your inputs on this guys!
Thanks in advance.

Bluetooth headset problems???

Hey guys,
I have this headset, not the fanciest of them, but still an effective headset. I just started using it with my 8125 (beats the wires!), and it's not working as good as I thought...
I used to have a nokia and a razr phone before getting the 8125 wizard. The headset worked amazing with both those phones. The main problem is the reception is not amazing, or should I say the communication between devices is not amazing and it drops connection sometimes.
Is there anything that has to be done??? I read somewhere that a2dp usually helps bluetooth devices connect, or was that my imagination???
Thanks,
Phil

Interference with bluetooth voice calls

I always use my bluetooth headset when talking to family and friends(due to the length of time, hate holding phone). Since, I switched from my nexus one people have griped about the interference/noise they hear when I'm on my bluetooth headset. It is not my BT headset as I've tried a few(motorola S305, and two smaller bluetooth earpieces), all of which exhibit the noise. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem ?
Running the Galaxy S I9000 ROM rooted.
Everyone complains about hearing me whenever I try to use a headset. Seems like the stack sucks or the radio is terrible.
Got the same problem. My bluetooth calls are loud and clear on my side, but everyone on the other side complains about static noice and I sound very distant.
I tried the original ATT rom (stock unrooted) and the most current 2.1 that is available for download. No difference.
Any ideas what to try to remedy this?
I haven't noticed anything like this on my Motorola S9-HD headset.
I have noticed sometimes it will cut the music every once in a while, whereas my iPhone never did.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
This is a known issue with the I9000 ROM... Bluetooth doesn't work well for some...
I'm running the stock rom... is that the I9000 rom?
None of my friends have mentioned such a problem when i've called them, although I've only made bluetooth calls a couple of times (including on the bus and at home).
Using after-market Nokia BH-503s.
I'm definately seeing the same problem on the stock rom. Not as bad as athe I9000 ROM but still bad enough for them to complain. Seems like it's made worse by the different roms/kernels we've been flashing but there's definately a problem.

I'm seeing similar symptoms, except my music cuts out every 30 seconds or so. My setup is a Kensington iPhone adapter connected through aux input in my car with an Anycom FIPO on the iPhone adapter (it converts the iPhone/iPod adapter into a bluetooth receiver). I then stream from my Captivate to the adapter and it works fine except that it cuts out every 30 seconds. Did you ever figure out how to fix it?
UPDATE: Just wanted to add that I figured out what was causing my problem: having Wifi turned on. Once I turned it off, my bluetooth streaming worked beautifully, with no hiccups.
Still have a problem with this. Stopped using my BT headset completely... sucks having this thing stuck to my head for calls.
I have encountered several problems:
Party can not hear me at all; though I can hear fine.
Party hears tinny sound to my voice.
Headset disconnects while playing music.
Using a Motorokr S9-HD. Works fine with Samsung A-737.
I too have the static problem. This phone sounds wonderful on my end, but everyone complains that that can't hear me! This is so far the only complaint I have.... I hope someone will have a fix, or come up with something.
I have this problem too !

Bluetooth background noise

I found this on phandroid to explain what I'm talking about, hopefully an update fixes this or I will have to send it back to Htc.http://androidforums.com/htc-sensation-4g/375199-white-noise-bluetooth-htc-sensation-4g.html
I have the issue as well.
This thread also describes a sort of similar or related problem.
Ok I see it's not just me.Hopefully it can be fixed with an update, hell I bought a new bluetooth because I thought it couldn't be the phone.

I also baught a new Bluetooth headset, a Plantronics M100 with dual mics!!, thinking it'll solve it. The noise is less, but is still there. My HD2 & Desire S when connected to the same Bluetooth headsets have no noise at all.
i have this very anoying same issue.
is there any way to fix it?
I'm using a Samsung and it works good with the sensation no background noise but if I move the phone or my head too fast I lose signal for a second
has anyone figured a fix for this , i too have the white noise when i use my bluetooth on my aftermarker stereo, i used to use this all the time with my vibrant and had no problems but ever since i got this sensation the caller on the other end complains that its horrible
bringing it back
I have this problem also. Still unresolved?
I have the exact same problem. Hoped an update to ICS would solve the problem, but it didn't.
My HD2 and DesireHD do not have this problem with my Volvo.
I thought it started after the first time I used my phone as MP3 player and putting the earplug in. That's the first time Beats Audio is activated I believe.
I'm guessing that's were the problem lies (but this was already back in November).
It might also be an app that I installed . . . can anyone trace something back to when it started being bad?

Bluetooth problems

I've been having bluetooth problems with this phone since day 1 & I'm wondering if it's just my phone or if anyone else is having the same experience. No matter what rom or headset I use, I get a craptastic connection. I don't have any problems pairing devices, but I can't get 10 feet away from the phone without it disconnecting and I can't even turn my head without the audio cutting out. It also randomly disconnects for no reason & sometimes won't reconnect until I reboot. This has happened with every rom I've tried & every headset too. I've bought & returned multiple headsets thinking it was just my Blueant, but it happens with every one.
Could I have a faulty unit or does the bluetooth on this phone really suck this bad? I listen to podcasts & music all day long at work so I need to have a decent connection. Opinions needed please.
I think it may be a bad phone.
I have and used the following bluetooth devices:
Plantronics 590A
Jawbone Icon and Era
BlueAnt S4 which I use in the car. And auto connects before I sit down to drive when I have it on.
Sony Ericsson MW600
And Jabra Pro 9470 (office phone setup that connects to my phone via bt)
All connects without a problem. Have you done a titanium backup and perform a factory reset? And after the reset use titanium backup to restore app and data only and leave the system settings alone. You can restore the wifi stuff if you like. From there that's like a fresh install. Hope that works for you.
Yeah I've done many, many wipes & fresh installs & nothing helps. I don't have any problems connecting, I just have problems STAYING connected & listening to audio. It cuts out constantly without me even touching the phone. I've never had such shoddy bluetooth on any other device.
*sigh* Looks like I may be doing an exchange...

Well before leaving the store...if you are going to a brick and mortar to do the exchange, bring the bt headset with you and try it out there and try to replicate the problem with a new phone.
I do not have range problems but I don't usually have my phone more than 5 ft way from me when talking on it via bt.
I have a replacement on the way for bluetooth problems, people complained of a horrid background noise and the range was maybe 8 feet before major static would kick in

My BT sounds like crap! People say it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel or they can't hear me that well, when they speak to me it cuts in and out.
This is when I connect to my Parrot BT in my truck. I know its not the Parrot system because my HD2 works fine with it.

I have a Dual car stereo & now that I think about it, everyone says they can't hear me even though I installed the mic on the side column & it's no more than a foot from my face at any time. Aargh this is so annoying. Freaking $600 phone & my damn $25 RAZR from Big Lots has better bluetooth.
If I bring it to the store, would they exchange it for me? I ordered it directly from T-Mobile, I didn't get it in a store.

No you will have to call T-Mobile and do a warranty exchange. I have no problems with BT on my phone at all.

I use this with my blueant s4 without an issue and experience no cutting in and out. However, I have been running MIUI and now running sense-o-maniac 3.5 and I have no issues.

horrid bluetooth sound quality
it seems a lot of people have been having issues with the bluetooth sound quality. i have mine paired with a motorola HF850 car kit, which has bluetooth v1.1, or something like that. i wonder if the problem is with backward compatibility, as people seem not to have as many issues with newer devices. would flashing a different radio potentiall help this problem? is it possible to downgrade the bluetooth version with a custom ROM? any other thoughts on ways to address this issue?
