can any one temme wats goin wrong .......this neva happened before wen i got the sealed pack xda II ......after i upgraded to wm2003 se, my batt just keeeps goin low in as much as 2 or 3 hours stand by time......n the best part is the backup battery doesnt work where as twice in windows mobile 2003 (Default Version With Xda II) i used the backup battery n pda wudnt go off.....but now it just keeps goin off as soon as the batt is out..... ne recommendations ?
thanks in advnc.....
don't know if it's related but I'm also experiencing battery drainage :

Same here, I noticed today that my MDA was kinda warm at the back. When I tried to turn it on, it did a hard reset and when I checked the battery was at 10 %. I didn't use Bluetooth. Maybe a virus going around in PPC land ?
Also I had the battery out just the day before, cause I swapped my sim which I normally never do. I wonder if this could have something to do with it ?
The device does soft reset after flipping the red backup battery switch. I guess this is normal ?
if batt's go warm i'd say that it's hardware issue maybe the batt is die'ing or something virus are still very rare on ppc's and i would be very supprised if they could cause such a thing
changing the batt would if all goes well softreset if all does not go well hardreset
sooner or later li'ion batt's die first the start to have a shorter power span
and shorter and shorter.....
batts like all other eletronics have a MTTF (mean time to fail)
this is a statictial nr. which mean that thats the time most of them survive
some die long before some last longer
if the majority dont last as long as the MTTF there is something wrong with the manufactoring batch or the way the device is using the batt
also the batt % show programs (i would asume )also use statictis to show how long the batt will last so if the device is left alone it will start to think it would last longer then if you are playing a game for 12 hours in a row
since using a device of cause use tons more power then a turned off device only handling gsm stuff
and if the gsm signal often weaken more power is using searching for a new source
I have loaded WM6 on my 750. I typically leave in EDGE service to conserve battery. What I have noticed since I have loaded WM6 is that the battery is worse then ever. I used to be able to make close to 3 days w/o charging. I turn off the radio at night and some during the day. Now using this same usage(plus turning off the radio), I am lucky to make 1 and 1/2 days.
Has anyone else experienced this? Just curious. I hope Palme attempts to address this before general release.

word^^. yea with wm5 id last me a good full 2 days now lucky if i get 16hrs...
I'm using VFN WM6 ROM and battery life looks like to be great, no difference to wm5 ROM.
Another one using the Vodafone ROM with no change in battery life. As I have Exchange ActiveSync, I am lucky if I get through the day.
I'm using Voda WM6 to some calls and many smses, sometimes internet/email/im and I get 3-4 days. Just like Voda WM5

Battery Life with WM6
I flashed my Treo 750 last night and lost significant battery life today. Like the ROM except for the issue on caps with typing.
VF Upgrade to WM6 and the battery is better. Yesterday: all day Sync whit Exchange + a 2 Hrs sessión call. At end of the day 15% battery remain.
hi all,
i upgraded my magician to 2.03tx rom and now noticed that if my battery down to 25%, then i lost my phone function (receiving, making calls, send, receive sms, signal down, etc2)
im not 100% sure if i had this issue with 1.13rom, but anyone else having the same problem ? thanks alot
hi, i originally had the same problem, but mine was due to the old battery in my jam slowly dieing on me.. i bought a new battery and the problem went away..
I have this problem too when batery have about 75% when I want call phone turn off... I will try new battery...
i also have this problem. Mine turns off when i try to make a phone call under 24/20% battery. Guess i´ll have to buy a new one. However, i´m thinking about a Hard Reset once this battery is just 2 years old.
I have the same problem with WWE1.13 and 2.03tx roms (at 30% and 70% too). I'm waiting the new battery...
i have the same prblm mine dies at around 50% to 55%
reply
pls trying rom same this 2.01tx
Buy new battery.
I can confirm that with a new battery the problem disappears
Ziki is very right. I also had the same prob. Buying a new batter is the only and applied solution ...........
I updated my vox to WM 6.5 ver 3.1 stable though its very nice to use but it drains battery very quickly (for 1 day) then I tried its original ROM and battery stays on for couple of days.
Now I am going to replace its battery though its in good condition but just to check it up on 6.5 ver 3.1 stable.
Has any1 experienced somewhat similer to this.
yeah. i believe its not the battery problem. its w6.5 itself.. i tried before on my vox, and i believe even it was nice to have w6.5 on our vox, but it will drain your battery much especially when using wifi. so, im using w6.1 on my vox.
i dont know your condition, maybe should change radio version, or get the new battery..lol..
my advise is, try to use w6.5, after that, flash back to w6.1, and compare which is have long batery life.
hope it helps
Well thanks for coments but I tried 6.1 before it also has few problems with wifi but its official 6.0 is the best, I changed my home screen with Facade 2.1.1 perchased for just $ 8.95 and very happy to have it.
hello,
i have I5801 galaxy 3..
currently on kies Froyo firmware..
from since flashing to froyo ..
1) whenever i talk on phone (ie do voice call) battery drains out in even less then a hour when fully charged..
2) when kept for charging.. even if battery shows like 10% remaining .. within like a min or two.. battery indicator shows an 100% charged status.
and it drains out in like 10 mins if removed from charging
what i think is somehow froyo is assuming it's charged and is stopping the charging process.
i've rooted it, and tried calibration.. still no luck.. I've deleted batterystats.bin regularly, still a new file is created and no change in battery condition is seen
plz help.. too much frustrated
PS: i am not a pro.. so help plz

don't delete batterystats.bin do some full charge discharge then report.
tried that.. still no change
battery drained off in 30-40 mins..
does ATK make battery drain? somewhere along on some phone someone said that draining battery to nil and charging back cycle makes battery life even shorter.. dunno what to do..

Calibrate your battery after doing a full charge. And use as "normal" for few normal cycles, just like you usually did.

Hi
Try using light version of g3mod kernel instead of oc based.
You can flash your phone with my Rom and test after full battery charge. note some apps are battery drainer like tweetcaster etc due to continuous sync.
Try to stop those services and test your phone thereafter..it will show improvement. .and dont delete any battery calibration seetting once done after you flash thats all.
Do let me know if it not happens.
Cheers.

i flashed g3mod-2.0-nonoc
still when i try to put it to charge..
say currently it shows like 40% charge.. but as soon as i put it on charging (via AC) .. it shoots up directly to 90-100 in two minutes.... this should be wrong, right?
darin rate is also bad
it showed 100% charged and a 3 min call .. made battery level goto 45%

Humm.. Strange..! U sure the other battery dsnt got any prob??
Ok try this .. convert all partition to rfs & flash any stock ROM with stock kernel.. Use Ur phone like that 2-3days.. See if any improvement..
Sent from my GT-I5800 using Tapatalk
err STOCK kernel means official right?
also how to convert parition to rfs.. is this about partitioning SDcard? coz if it is i've tried using without any card insert .. still same
i was thinking about G3mod 2.0 Beta2 kernel .. heard it uses very less battery..
but i've got a question ( and i can't ask in development forum as per post limitation) that does the 2.0 Beta2 uses less battery than the official samsung jp6 kernel? or should i try flashing that?
(now i may look like stupid asking these question)
first of all, sorry for bumping this after a month..
actually G3 wasnt with me from then, now it's back and problem persists
what i notice is that
1) phone when put to charge, shoots up to 100% in 5-10 mins, even when off
2) and same with the drain, it goes to 1% in 5-10mins
i checked out with battery, and it is fine they(samsung service center) say,..
plz help, i am at question as to what is the reason for this sudden rise and fall of battery level.
if u got a costum rom use battery calibration from the market its free it fix the drains happend whit me to

nope... i had used it before but now i am currently on I5801DDJP6 updated from 2.1 eclair via kies
its stock,unrooted, no modifications..
i'd calibrate battery, but the fact that it shoots up t0 100% in 10 mins
and what i guess is when phone detects 100% battery, it pretty much stops charging after that, thus battery starves ..
can something be done so that it actually gets accurate reading on battery status ?
Switch off your cell...let it full charge....
Then switch on the device and flash the cyanogen mod...
Its fast, stable and also increases the battery power...
had the exact same problem...did that and now works for almost two days...

cyanogenMod site doesnt show Galaxy 3 support...
btw u are saying ROM or kernel?? coz i like stock ROM of samsung as it's easy to use
@bscraze i contacted service center.. they say battery's good and doesn't need replacement...
hey i discharged until phone switched itself off couple of times
and charged it back to 100% while phone was off and then again when ON..
then, i increased brightness,turned on wifi,bluetooh,gps,etc and it dropped to 90% ..
as it is stock rom i think it was between 90-100% (coz with 1% mod)
but as soon as a call came, which was of 2:38 seconds, my phone battery dropped off to 3%
any guesses, why this is happening?

what i have been able to detect from last two days is,
that battery fall is severe only when on voice call,
i have been playing music, games without much battery drain
but a mere voice call with everything off (GPS,bluetooh, dataconntection) for not more than 10 mins, drains battery by 20-30%
any ideas about it's reason??

Check out which app uses more battery in battery - settings - usage. That particular process may use more battery than others.
I have a similar problem with my G3 - I'm running CM 6.2
While I checked the OS takes 76% of the battery. I found CM6.2 better in handling FC than 7.1..Or should i just go back to Cm 7.1??
Experts, please advice
Hello everyone. its long since i posted here and thats bcoz of only one reason .. battery problem with my phone. i really was getting pissed off by the issue that i stopped posting here .. cursing my bad old phone.. my battery was lasting near abt 6-10 hrs lately .. finally i decided to..
1. flash eclair (stock) JG6 which came along at the time of my purchase and had reasonable to good batt back up. flashed that and i was like 18-24hrs of batt backup. Used it for almost one week. and as i was surfing thru our threads.. saw some really encouraging post abt Kyrillos 9.3 and its battery backup. so..
2. I flashed kyrillos 9.3 for last 3 days .. and did the calibration on my very first charging after flashing 9.3.. yesterday got almost 36 hrs of batt backup .. right now m on 84%.. unplugged @ 8pm yesterday .. it 10:15am right now in india. so its around 14 hrs .. which i feel is quite good considering my past exp with my battery ..
I dont know what actually has done the trick or its illusion to me . but after flashing eclair my phone performance has gone up smartly.
Using 9.3 NON-OC. with a2sd enabled.
i hope it can help ppl abt our all confusing battery issue .. if not .. at least it can throw some light ...
Press the thanks button if u find it helpful. Hve a gr8 day.
