Hi
So, first i got an 512 MB A-Data MMC card to X-mas. I put it into my XDA, copied a few files onto it. Then i put it into a cardreader/write, copied some files onto it, put it back to XDA. I did the same a few more times, and...one time, about half day after i opened it, i was put it into my XDA, and it said "Card is not readable blahblah do you want to format it? :x Okay, formatted. Another few copy onto the card....same :x. Okay, tried to format into cardreader...copied few files, back to XDA...same. Then if i got out and put it back to my xda only once, it immediatelly cant read it, and wanted to format it. I've heard that T-mobile roms has problems with SD card, so i borrowed an Kingston SD, and i flashed an O2 rom into my XDA. Same results with the MMC card :x. SO i considered that the card is wrong and/or incompatible with XDA. Because the borrowed Kingston SD card was working w/o any problems, i replaced my mmc to an 512 MB Kingston SD. I've heard that Kingston SDs are slower than other SDs but because i knew that it'll work and i dont wanted to get a non-working memory card, i bought it. Well...it's not just slower that others...its S L O W. Copying with cardreader/writer on USB 1.1: 130 kb/s (with a-data mmc: ~330 kb/s). Installing 11 MB cab file from SD to SD: about 4 minutes! Creating backup on my XDA: i just couldn't wait to finish it....it was about 5 percent after 3-4 mins. I just wanted to share it, to avoid ppl buying this crap.
:x

I guess this is my specific problem as I didn't found any query regarding this.
I have recently purchased Sandisk 32GB MicroSDHC class 4. I have installed fresh SteelEpicBlue V4 ROM and everything i did regarding ext3 swap etc. But now when i try to copy my old data, images, movie clips, movies it does copy but it gets corrupted. If lets say i copy 20 images at a time 4-5 opens and are accessable left all gets corrupt.
I checked with few testings that till data card in not pushed back to phone and if i try to access data on card to various PC ( I have 5 different pc tp check ) it works and lets me copy information safely but as i put it back to phone it creates thumbnails and most of the files get corrupted.
I have fat32 format file system in the card.
Please help me with 3 question if anyone may:
1) Is it that i have got compatable SDcard - mine is Sandisk Class 4 32GB ?
2) Is it that we can make sum partition to help easy access & will it help?
3) Is there anything we can do to keep files in the SD card safe protecting it from corruption?
Please help me in this.
Thanks in advance.

Please let me know if there is anybody who tried 32gb MicroSDHC yet with XT720. And if it is working fine. Please let us know.
I use a 32gb card and it works fine. Most of the glitches have been self-inflicted. I had a Topram 16gb class 6 for a long time and used it on Nokia 5800 and then in xt720. I am a music hound so I upgraded to Topram 32gb class 10, although it runs more like a class 6. Capacity on the card is almost the full 32gb, so I was happy about that. Got both 16 and 32 from eBay, but made sure I got from same purveyor.
And always remember, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
For some reason when I go to flash a rom that I have downloaded on my 32gig micro SD, I am getting an error that is saying
e: cant open "followed by the directory and name of the zip" and then the word "(bad)".
I can copy the same ROM onto another SD card and it will install fine, also it appears to be at random which rom installs. Another bit if information is that if I cant install the rom, I cant back it up either....
Anyone else having these issues?
corrupt directory or perhaps incorrect path/permissions. worst case format micro sd in phone storage settings. also fix permissions in cwm recovery rom manager always messes up the g2x right now. dev needed to fix this a over month ago.
ps i found out i also had a fake 32 gb micro sd card bought off of ebay. caused LOTS of problems once it neared its actual capacity
what speeding rating is your card?
I'm running a Class 2 32GB Sandisk and I can flash ROMs with no problems.
If Im not mistaken its a 32 class 2. Its not all ROMS, just certain ones. Maybe it could be a fake from ebay, but it will download the files and have all of it there. But when I check the size when I format it, it says that its a 32gig

I bought a 32gb USB drive off of ebay that reported 32gb to windows and I could copy 32gb worth of files onto it. But anything over the first 4gb could not be accessed.
I followed directions from another website to root my Nook Tablet; they looked similar to the ones I used here to root my old Nook Color. What I had forgotten was that when I use an image formatter to format the boot image onto my SD Card, I used to have to download a size-specific image. That way, my 4GB SD Card would come with the (xxx MB) of data, and the rest of the free space would still be available.
Instead, I formatted my 4GB SD Card with a 2GB-capacity image. Is the other 2GB now lost? Windows Formatter only formats it back to 2GB (or 1.86, or whatever, but not the ~4GB), the image formatting software I used originally -might- do it, but it wants to know the size of clusters, # of clusters, etc. etc. When I tried to guestimate and lowball it (have it make a 3.5~ GB card, since I know I don't REALLY get all 4GB), it just says I'm being dumb and the card isn't big enough for that kind of format. =\ I'd rather not have to buy another memory card, but is that my only option at this point?

Recently went from SGS3 to i9505 as Samsung has left us not much space on the 16gb version I purchased a Samsung 64Gb class 10 SDHC card .... Welcome to my nightmare. ...
1. Could not restore via CWM recovery I would always get MD5 mismatch
2. Take a photo it would just dissappear after a couple of hours
3. Folder mount or LinktoSd would not work correctly
4. Media files would not play correctly become corrupt
The CWM not restoring was the worst its kinda like playing Russian Roulette .. So I dusted my 32 Gb card off cleaned it up .....No more problems.
I've noticed alot of people seemed to face the same issues with 64Gb cards . So I thought I would start this thread to see if we can find the common denominator with this issue
Please post your experiences with SD cards here. Should I just write that one off to experience and go buy another 64gb card ??
Which format is best SDHC or SDXC
Should we format exfat ext4 or fat32
Please post any information regarding SD Cards and what dramas you have had

GALAXY S4
Hello, i just have got a Samsung Class10 not (UHS1) micro SD Card 64GB. And i put it on my Galaxy S4.
All was ok, until I passed some archives from the Internal memory to SD and Recorded some videos, then it appeared a message Saying "Empty Memory Card or Incorrect File Format" and tells me to Format it. Even it says I need to Format when i connected the Micro SD on PC (I connect it Through a Printer SD port with SD Adapter).
Now Im afraid I will lose my recordings and files.
So Should i have Formated it before giving a use?
Well the other detail is that after formatting it, looks like it cant be readed, my printer gets stuck saying Loading Photos.*
So it isn't readable on PC after formatting it on my android device?
Then I tested it on my Canon camera and it reads.
Looks like its defective. Many files got corrupted or simply dissapeared. And if I try to read via card reader on pc it says that doesnt have format and ask me to format it. Anyways it cant be formatted, an error appears.
what should i do with this card?
I got a new phone today (ZTE ZMAX Pro) and I took the SD card from my old phone and put it in my new one. I formatted it, unmounted it, and removed it properly. Whenever I try to format it as internal on my new phone, it sticks on 20% and comes up with the following error message: "java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException:Thread Binder_6 gave up waiting for partitionPrivate after 180000ms." I also got another one, the only difference being "Thread Binder_B."
So, I restarted it, and wouldn't you know it - it recognized the card. So, I formatted it for photo swapping or whatever it is, and it worked. I then tried formatting as internal, and it did the same thing I mentioned earlier. So, the card will work as usual after some restarts and removals, but is it pretty much screwed for internal formatting?
The card is a 64 GB SanDisk, and it works just fine on my computer.
EDIT: I just tried with a 16gb card, and it worked fine. I guess the question now is: is the 64 gb card able to be saved?
