HI guys im wondering where can i find the best hdmi cords for my G2X phonw. I recently ordered one in amazon and arrived today but wasnt the same connection to my phone :/. Im pretty pissed off since was up for it, so now im posting this thread to see if any one can direct me to some good hmdi cords of the G2X? thank u for ure help.
i orderd an iogear cable from newegg it was like 12 buck free shipping. Works perfect. sorry cant post links yet
I got a 6' cable for $3 after shipping from Amazon. I should get mine in a couple days. It said it was for G2x; I hope it fits my phone!
whatever you do, stay away from the monoprice cables.. There are multiple posts about their cables frying the phone.
To input my two cents, don't buy a cable that reads gold plated or anything of the like. Off the top of my head I can think of Monster Cables. I don't know about MicroHDMI and Monster Cables.
Why? Well, digital cables only need to pass 1s and 0s (i.e. binary). Back in the day with analog cables, the wires used in cables really were effective. Nowadays, simple silver will get the job done the same as gold-plated / gold-tipped / dipped-in-gold cables.
I have a 3 part response to the post above.
1. Used to work at Circuit City, and we were, pretty much told to push cables, and that type of accessory. Why? Because the cost on say a 4" RCA Video cable was $7 when they would sell them to customers for $70. Yup. I purchase a $70 dollar Top of the Line Monster Cable Video only RCA cable back in the day for $7 bones. Cables are a big business.
2.Plenty of people, I know that work at electronic stores, say that when purchasing a HDMI cable, you don't need to spend anything more than $20 bux.
As long as its under 14'.
3.Silver is actually a better conductor of electricity than gold. I don't know how much better, it actually is. The reason they don't use Silver for plating cables and such, is becuase it oxidizes. Gold doesn't.

dude.. scroll up and look at my other post. There are MULTIPLE.. MANY.. people who have had their phone destroyed by cables from monoprice. Check out the threads in this forum. I'm tellin' ya.. stay away.

If you mean what type of hdmi cable ...g2x needs a microhdmi... dont get the mini cuz thats the mistake i did.... any microhdmi should do the job n i got mine for 3$ on amazon

Well apperently is not same micro usb r w.e u want to call it cord lol. I purchased one in amazon that said for evo n other devices, n when I received it. The micro usb didnt fit my pjone. That is why im saying the evo is not same as g2x cables.

In what way did it not fit? Micro HDMI is Micro HDMI there is not varying versions its all the same size. Now if you are saying the surrounding rubber wouldn't allow you to plug it into the socket I can understand but the actual socket is all the same.
I have a problem with all my usb cables. They all worked fine, then they started to become loose where I had to wiggle it to charge. I then brought another one, it wotked perfectly fine, very stable. Now after like a week or two it started to become a loose. I could wiggle it around easily. Now my other usb cables dont even charge. I tried it on two other phones and its the same thing. Any ideas?

A common problem with micro USBs from what I've experienced. I'm saying it based on both my wife's Vibrant and my G2x. I bought the replacement originals from each company but same results.

I buy all my cables (cat5, hdmi, usb, coax, etc) from Monoprice (add a .com to the end - I am still a newbie so can't post links) whenever possible. Great quality at very reasonable prices.

I have forgotten my charger at home and won't be back for a few days but I need my tablet for class. So I ask do I have any options? Or do any local stores carry the cable?

I would try the local Best Buy store.
I'm not 100% sure, but maybe nexus7 cable can work. And if that can be confirmed, you're more likely to find that at staples, best buy, etc.

Note that you still need the TF charger - with standard 5 volt USB, it may take more than 24 hours for a full charge.

I don't know for sure, but I don't think the N7 has the same charger, since I believe that uses a regular micro USB.
Why wouldn't you check caseen. They seem to have TF chargers in stock on their website.

Ahh, thanks for confirming.
I wasn't entirely sure and was basing it on the fact that n7 also built by Asus and that my zagg power supply will only charge my phone and not tablet.
Only after buying zagg power and trying to use it unsuccessfully for tablet, I saw it said online that it won't work with n7, but they didn't mention our tablets, so I thought same cables etc. Oh well, good to know. Now I've just realized I've never seen (irl) or played with a n7 yet, wow.

I haven't found any local stores that carry any accessories when my cat chewed up mine. Amazon has a few different brands. There is one that houses the wires in rubber instead of the normal plastic that I liked. Its also 6' long which is nice.

anyone find a local place in the US that sells these?

Keep in mind that those increase the thickness which may cause an issue with water resistance because of the bulge it causes. Even if it is minimal

Well as you all know when you bought the G3 there was an offer of 50% on select accessories for the G3. The promo said that only one accessory would have the discount. Apparently the reps at AT&T will give you the discount on all the accessories if you ask nicely and this applies even if you did not buy your phone in AT&T and you bought it at Best Buy or RadioShack for example, also you do not need to buy it exactly at the time you bought the phone cause you have 14 days from the day of activation to get the offer. I used this advantage to get the PMA Case, the G Watch and the LG Ultra Headphones also you can get the iPhone 4/4s powermat bundle for $10 bucks if you can find an AT&T store that has it in stock, the powermat base works fine on my G3 and i have not experienced disconnection issues at night or neither i have found that it loses a charge after it hits 100%, if the charger doesn't work try exchanging it or try exchanging the PMA case. One little detail is that the LG Ultra headphones in the manual says that it comes with a plug to the wall charger, this charger doesn't come with the device it only comes with a usb cable. I hope this thread helps whoever has doubt's on the offer.

i got my G3 more than 14 days ago and i checked the website but none of the prices show 50% off. so im thinking about stopping by after work to the retail store and "ask nicely" and see if i can get 50% that way. what do you think?

Well i would say try it and be like i didn't know that was an offer or something and maybe they might give it to you, asking nicely goes a looong way and remember that they are salesmen they need to get stuff sold even if it's by giving them at 50% off. Worse thing that might happen is they say no and best thing is they say yes.
