I'm new to this and would appreciate any help with the best way to unlock my at&t sx56 so I can use it with vodafone uk.
Rom version: A.20.17 ENG
Rom date: 15/5/03
Radio version A. 20. 10
Any help would be appreciated as i am a complete beginner.

You can only use SX56 on a 900 or 1900 network. If vodafone uses 900/1800 you should be able to use it. If it uses only 1800, then you can use the bandswitch tool by xda-developers or go into the bootloader to change the band to 900/1800. But I doubt if you will get good result.
easy way to remove a sim lock is to get the serial cable and use the xda unlock tool from this site

Yes Cu928 is the first edition of Harrier
Cu928 launched by Danxian Telecom. it likes Blue Angle with out wi-fi. you can flash Harrier rom on Cu928 same as MDAIII to OIIs. Sprint and Verizon start saling it as VX6600, VX6601....

i just moved back to the us from germany and brought back a vpa smart phone. i have t-mobile us service and am trying to get it working.... it says to put in a password.. it was on vodaphone service before.. is there any way to unlock the sim or anything to where i can use this phone ? any help would be great

Search for SuperCID in the "Upgrading" forum, but make sure it is compatible with your model before you try.
VPA Is VodaPhone I think..........?

i have vodafone 1615 UK and it is simlock free - my o2 card works with no problem but play mobile poland wouldnt let the device start at all freezes at red start screen. give it a try

If i made a HardSPL on it, to get a custom ROM, am i losing the GSM network ??

HardSPL doesnt have anything to do with GSM or CDMA network to my knowledge. You will have to phone unlocked to be used in other networks. Since you have done that, I think you are good to go.
the sprint model is unlocked for non-US GSM out of the box, and Hard-SPL wont remove any functionality and no ROMs should effect this either (i have the same model, ith hard-SPL and NRG's rom and it works with my german T mobile SIM)

Once you flash the CDMA HardSPL to the phone, you will be able to flash custom ROMs. However, you will still need to flash CDMA ROMs and radios, even though you are using the GSM radio. GSM TP2 ROMs will not boot if flashed to a CDMA device.
I wonder if the program RhodiumW Unlocker is the solution for my problem, I'm from Chile ... I need to occupy the GSM band please help.
