i don`t understand what reg key didi you mean ....for what?
i guess he meant this path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSStart\BKBitmapFile
and change it (path to picture which you want to have under menu) for example \Storage Card\Wallpapers\mypicture.jpg
i dont know if its usefull for u

Easiest way for you to learn, is to copy an existing theme
(it's a plain text) and see what line changes what...
That's the best way to discover, learrn & remember
now i know what did you mean but i don`t whant to do that,i whant to do a complet homescren with pictures in menu any many more but i do not know what soft to use because the ruttensoft homescreen designer 2007 can`t do that... maybe you know a soft...
have 1 question wich is the best an d the most complex homescreen maker for wm6/5 ?
dude there aint any good homescreen maker...a good one to change color scheme is homescreen designer...but to change startmenu and other default pictures ...use some reg editor like sktools or something...jjust search for the picture and change it....for ex...start menu in HTC S710 is by default named startmenu...search for it and change the path as u like...
this is very simple online .hme theme maker: http://theme-maker.bwap.org/bwap.or...artphone-pocket-pc-theme-constructor/hme.html
what?
Most complex editor is well known to every one, Its called "NotePad"
open ur home.xml file and start playing
I am too lazy to do this :/ actually I have modified alot of home screens (with custom plugins) this way
plugins are:
Sli Clock
Smart Monitor
RJHTML
RJTime
RJShortcut
LCDPlug
Battplug
commercial ones:
Facade and Fizz traveller
they come with some embedded elements like code which u paste in ur xml file, specify coordinates (from top left corner of screen as origin) and then finally size. Format state is actually for selectable plugins. Trust me, it jsut requires a bit of HTML knowledge and some hit and trial.
But I bet its alot complex.
If u want to edit homescreen real time on ur smartphone, I would recommend using Vieka's Free WordPad (totally compatible with any text document)
Hi,
I've been looking for an easy way to change the font on my TP.
I've tried someones cab file which works, but then I can only use the font supplied in the CAB.
Someone else suggested copying the new ttf over the existing one and renaming it..
eg, new font is red.ttf, rename to tahoma.ttf and copy over existing tahoma.ttf
but, in my windows/font folder I don't have tahoma!!
maybe this is a result of a theme I installed (the font in the font foler is nyama or something)
so, what is the quickest and easiet way to change system font?
thanks
Use this tool ,it works for me
but this app only has 3-4 fonts in it...I want to be able to add any font I like. is there a way to do that?
can I add fonts to this app and therefore make them selectable?

ok..I found out that if you add fonts to the windows font folder then they appear in the drop down as selectable with this app..
however...I can't change the system font (I say system font, but I mean the main one, that is displayed on the now page in SPB MS etc. it stays as tahoma...and what's even more interesting is that I can't find the tahoma font anywhere on the device!! (I was going to copy over this with my new font)
so...has anyone got any other ideas about how to change the font on the TP?
As you can see here I've changed my font for the entire device (you might not see that it's for the entire device but it is) the rest of what I know is in that post, cheers
I seem to recall that Tweaks 2K2.NET allowed you to change fonts as well (via the registry) but be prepared for disproportionate buttons and dialogs which may flow off the screen.
Did you want to change the fonts as a user pref thing or is it in order to increase their size and make them easier to read?
just a user preference thing. I find the tahoma font quite boring. Tweaks2k2 does allow you to change fonts but again, not the main one.
I can't quite understand it. you can change the one in the drop down menus, the dialogue boxes etc but the main one (for sms or emails for example) stays the same.
Pixel, I could've sworn that I did this on my wife's PPC.
Using Tweaks2K2.NET, you can change the system font and size.
The only caveat is that you have to have the font installed to your PPC's \Windows\Fonts folder first.
Wait a sec. Lemme g00gle this...

I'm sorry if this doesn't help. I might not be understanding what you are trying to do.
Take care!
thanks for your efforts. I had to hard reset my device last night after weeks of happy life. so I'm going to get round to changing the font with the methods as indicated as soon as I've finished all my other config work that is required.
Theres one thing I have to say before I begin: Make good skins!
Theres nothing wrong on reusing stuf from others (with due credits and permission, if needed) but dont go for the easy mix, make some good graphics with cool transparencies and plently of bling.
Please dont make ugly skins (like I did) for example, the M2D skin thread is huge, but only some are thrully nice and different.
Each person has its own taste, but lets all make an effort to raise the bar.
The skin change can be as simple as editing the 2 main images: The main tab and the minimized tabs, you can do much, much more, but those 2 images are the main change to the visual effect.
The minimized tab is very simple, its just a PNG inside the Windows folder named CHome_listback.png (its hidden, so use Resco Explorer if needed).
The main tab is a png inside a DLL with other icons, for that you need to edit the DLL with a special program.
To edit the DLL (containg the main graphics and icons):
----------------------------------------------------
- Download ans install the PE Explorer trial: http://www.heaventools.com/download.htm
- Copy bronzeres.dll from the Windows folder to your SD card then to your PC.
- Open the DLL in PE Explorer and click on View > Resources
- See all the files inside the RC Data folder and double-click the png number 3000 for portrait or 4000 for landscape.
- Import a new PNG into that new screen and save the dll when finished (backup yours first).
- Download, export an open MSigner and open your dll inside this software.
- Copy that dll into your SD Card and then into the Windows folder (use Resco explorer if it denies access).
- Reset and enjoy.
To change the layout of the plugin you need to edit the Titanium_*.cpr file on your Windows folder (like Titanium_240x320.cpr, or whatever your screen resolution is), its a "simple" XML inside, you can see it with Notepad.
See this link for a detailed explanation of it:

Great tutorial...
Many Thanks
Thanks, Iwas trying to look at the bronzeres.dll with reshacker and getting really confused. All I saw was a bunch of code. No images. I'll try this PE Explorer out. Anybody know if there is a chrome or grey theme already? Do we not need to sign the dll as in previous skinning like taskbar?
Hmmm... to be honest I dont remenber if I signed it, I dont think i did... :/
PNG Format
Hi TWolf,
thanks for the perfect instructions. Just tried myself. WAnt to change the 3000.png. But if I export it into Photoshop and create a new one with transparnency Titanium just shows background after having copied the new dll.
Do you know the specifications of the PNG?
Thanks
Januwar
there is also a tutorial for cpr files?
would be nice like the one for manila 2d, where people put lines and explanations...

The link on the first post of Titanium Walkthrough by drkfngthdragnlrd has some info on that.
when i replace the file and reboot it. I get a blank today screen and its set on windows default so i guess i'm doing something wrong. Same problem as januwar
Thats strange, could you test this?
Open your file on the signer and after its signed try to put it on the windows folder again...
I wasnt sure this step was really needed..
signed file works
thank you!!!
now just a question...how to add icons to "collapsed" tabs?
what i understood is that is possible to link to an external icon or use one in the bronzeres.dll...
...i'd like to know how
Thanks, added to the tutorial.
That depends of the plugin, if it uses icons that are inside this dll, then they can be changed too... If they use external pngs, thats even easier.
yes but only if the plugin already has the code to display an icon in the cpr right?
dont' know...it's the right place to ask for an example?
how to add an icon (not to change only) can you show the lines to add to the cpr for a generic tab? maybe it's possible to use the chome editor, i saw some registry entries related to icons in tabs editor...
something easy...newbie level please
its exacly the same procedure, just instead of being that icon number, its another one... :/
In some cases, if you edit the registry to a full path png file, it will use it.
no sorry maybe i didn't explain myself...
default plugins in titanium has only text when not selected, right?
now if i want (like i saw in some themes) to add an icon on the left to a non selected tab i think i have to edit the cpr and add some lines to create a link to a number in case of bronzeres or to an external png.
what i need is an example of these lines to add to cpr so i can replicate on my own for all my installed plugins.
i hope i've been more clear this time
ps :sorry for the dumb question as i told you i'm newbie, thank you for your help
Theres already a thread, as I said, to show ppl how tu use the cpr files... :/
You can see a example of what I did here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3788297&postcount=45
I added this to the condensed view of my resolution cpr:
Code:
<Image ID="[B]ICON[/B]" Left="0" Top="0" Width="36" Height="36" />
And this to the registry:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\CHome\system\CondensedPage]
"[B]ICON[/B]"="\\[I]My Documents\\Themes\\Titanium System Panel\\sd.png[/I]
thank you
i've read the walkthrought but i couldn't find these...maybe i have to search in the whole thread
These nice people copied the first post text and did even gave credit to xda:

OK...color me stupid, but I don't see CHome_listback.png on my device...I read and followed:
"The minimized tab is very simple, its just a PNG inside the Windows folder named CHome_listback.png (its hidden, so use Resco Explorer if needed)."
from the first post, but it is not there. it sharts with CHome_send..... and then a list of CHome_ Win..... images, but no CHome_listback.png!!
Any suggestions or ideas as to why?
Thanks
Strange, maybe it could be a different build, to be sure, copy my png from the UGLY SKIN to your Windows folder.

Hi again...
Is there any way to make the text on the TF3D today screen outlined?
Most wallpapers are pretty much useless, since you can't read the calendar appointments etc...
Unfortunately no, but lowering the contrast/brightness of the background picture with photoshop makes it easier to read.
I have seen screenshots of different GUI's on XDA, where people have had different fonts instead of the original ones...
Would it be possible to maybe make a work-a-round of some sort, and change the font all together?
Like for instance in different games, you can change the in-game-fonts by simply replacing the font files with other fonts, renamed to the same name as the original fonts used...
U can change the font Take a look here

Fantastic, exactly what I was looking for!
I'll just take a different outlined font, rename it HelveticaNeue LT 35 Thin.ttf and I should have outlined text on my homescreen...
- will try it right away
Thanks!
Hmmm...
It looked really nice, but when I switched to the Calendar tab - the phone froze up...
Any ideas?
Whilst a bolder font may make it easier to read, it's still difficult against high contrast/brightness backgrounds. Changing to a larger font also makes other text formatting in TF3D look bad due to wrap-around problems etc....

Well, I used a font with "more meat on it" than the Helvetica Neue one and it looked very very nice indeed!
Problem was, that it made my D2 freeze up all the time...
So if anyone have some input to, what could be the problem, I would appriciate it.
What I did was to take another ttf font, rename it as the original, and copied over the original with the new one and then restarted the device...
It looked good on the today-screen, but when I looked on other screens, it froze...
Find the ttf files in the windowsfolder.
Take the font you like.
open the both fonts in the fontcreator.
replace the letters in the original font.
Use total commander or resco explorer to replace the files in the windowsfolder. Works great !
ps: I changed all the fonts in the windowsfolder so the new font is alltrough windows.

So simply replacing the original wont do it...!?
- with a renamed ttf ofcourse...
Since I found the HTC Leo's Sense quite difficult to edit the bloody Manila files (in OMNIA was... totally simple project), I'm willing to give (via PayPal donate) some cash, to someone who can create what I need...
He (they") will give me the exact dimensions of the files and I PERSONALLY will create my own graphics and I'll give him (them?) the files and he (they?) will create me what I want...
I want:
1. Co0kie (my personal) clocks (flip/analog)...
2. Slider (my personal) icons...
...and a couple things more; I'll have to check.
Anyone interesting?
Try CHTtweaks. You can change many of the items of co0kie home tab including flip & analog clock, softbar, lockscreen & SMS & email widget using simple png files; also you can get lot of transparency and easily chage text fonts. All with a simple file explorer, forget about manila files.
Regarding the slidertab is a bit more complicated, but if you upload here your png files for sure some other user will kindly help you. To start with you should install in your PC m9editor and / or CFC_GUI; also Resco Explorer or Total Commander in your device; then do a search in your device's windows folder for *_manila; then copy all the founded files to your SD and from there to your PC.
In post #8 of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696214 I did update a zip with all the files included in the slider-tab. Unzip in a separate folder in your PC. The files have the manila names, but png format. You can edit each one with PS, just keep the names and the sizes. It will be easy to convert them back to manila format before put them in your device.
Do it slowly, and ask here what you need. And do not forget to enjoy!
poy any reason why you would copy manila files to sd card first then pc?
i would just open windows folder on pc then copy straight to the pc.
You are right, probably my PC is very slow so i transfer the files using the card reader and i also like to have a backup copy of manila in SD. Of course is not essential .... the most important is to put all manila files in PC -no matter how- and do the edition there.
lol your pc is slow?
I may have you beat. it takes my pc about an hour and a half to copy all manila files.
frustrating but still hella fun though.
@ OP upload your files.
my sig : windroid have everything u want =] If u need edit anything .PM me.
or U could use Poys CHT Tweak. its easy to use

Thxs all of you, for the interest.
But... I don't know the BLOODY DIMENSIONS of these graph files!
I'm pro designer and if you may check bellow the link, I made a "total-theme" for OMNIA - took some serious time, but was easy, after all.
In OMNIA's "Manila", the project was so "crystal"; just copied EVERY graph file from Windows folder (mobile) in my PC, edited them, re-copied back to mobile... Or even better (with M2DC), I was extracting the ENTIRE theme somewhere in my mobile, copied the theme in the PC, opened via WinRar, editing the files, re-placing back in the "rar" theme file... and back to mobile!
SIMPLE!
In Leo's Sense Manila, it's NOT THAT simple!
Anyways... Is it possible, someone, to give me the BASIC files for these graphics (for example, Sliders icon mask and icon itself, Slider tab's icons, Co0kie clocks seperated graphs, etc.), to edit them (make my own graps) and help me out?
HERE IS my first personal Co0kie wallpaper (wide) I made; maybe I'll make others too, but I like that (see bellow)...
So... I wonna make some serious modifications, with the... obvious theme!
hey op, if no ones done it before I put my pc on later I'll help you out with slider icon sizes and convert your finished png images to manila, I did a pretty cool effort for my phone......
