XDA2 prepaid option not available - General Topics

Trying to setup a brand new xda2, it will not allow me to select prepay gprs, it will only allow post paid, any help appreciated.

I don't think O2 (it is O2 you're talking about right?) has that option for the UK customers. It would appear that their Mobile Internet GPRS network doesn't seem to support PAYG customers. If you are planning to use it PAYG, I think the only thing you can get is GPRS WAP but not 'true' internet. But even then, I have quite a lot of difficulty 'surfing' WAP pages via PIE; can do it better with EZWAP.
For some reason, I did note that I could select Ireland and then the prepay option will be 'enabled' on that particular screen.

O2 payg gprs full internet access now available.

Here is an sms I received yesterday.
O2: Using Mobile Internet via GPRS is FREE until June 10th 2004. For info on New Mobile Internet charges from 10th June call 2202 free from your mobile.
It seems it will be costing about £2.50 per megabyte for full gprs internet access.
Afraid Not,
I spoke to Technical Support about it yestersay, and they were Adamant that the PAYG service was still only WAP and MMS, and tests seem to confirm this!
Yes it is £2.50 a Mb, but will not allow full Internet access on the XDA,
Copy of EMail Response Below---
Hi there,
Thank you for your email,
You should be able to configure the device by choosing from the Active screen - My XDA, Connections, chose Pre-paid, GPRS, UK, Finish. This should then restart with the correct settings.
If this doesn't work, please provide your mobile number and we can check if you are provisioned for the correct services. Please note, that Pay and Go customers will be unable to use full web access, only GPRS WAP and MMS services will be available for you.

Paul

Pay as you go or contract what's the best??

Is it better to be on a pay as you go or contract if you intend to use your phone for surfing. I recently managed to get on the Internet using my phone (pay as you go Virgin on the back of tmobile) but it cost me over 1 pound 50 pence for what I don't believe was very long. I was only looking at google. Is this correct?? I am not sure how this only pay for downloads works. surely if you go to google you must download the pages you put in for a search? and then if you drill further down you must download more and more data. Someone told me you only pay if you download attachments etc?? What is true. Would appreciate any replies to get my thinking straight.
John
All data transferred to from your device is counted. An allowance is usually made for connect disconnect overhead. I found it extremely easy to run up a couple of megs
I manage to get 300 minutes free internet on O2 payg, just topup a tenner a month and you get the free internet using the settings on this board, gprs too, the gprs just saves time logging on, there is no speedgain when surfing. You get full access to internet, I use it to check my ebay sales and to access this board sometimes, its also great for winning pub bets as you have access to all the info. 8) You also get 300 free sms text messages or a mix of multimedia messages and sms free. The phone calls arent that cheap but you get your full tenners worth of calls along with the freebies. The sms freebie is worth 30 quid alone. You cannot rollover any free internet time or unused sms. There are many bolt ons available also.
I also use Tesco payg, you get 3 favorite numbers which give half price calls to any mobile or landline, that works out at 10p per minute, standard calls to any mobile or landline are 20p a minute. I am going to get a dual sim holder so I can use O2 for sms and internet and Tesco for calls.

free GPRS with 02 Uk? Have I understood this right? Can you tell me how, or point me towards these Magical settings?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12334&highlight=
* I recommend deleting any existing GPRS settings you have under the work connection settings before entering these to avoid confusion *
1. Go to Start -> Settings -> Connections Tab -> Connections.
2. You'll see 2 sets of option links. 'My ISP' and 'Work'. Under the work links, choose 'Add a new modem connection'.
3. Name for connection: o2 gprs. Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS). Tap Next.
4. Access Point Name: payandgo.o2.co.uk
5. Username: payandgo
6. Password: password
7. Tap Finish.
8. Back in the connections settings screen, tap 'Edit My Proxy Server'.
9. Tick 'This network connects to the Internet' and 'This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet'.
10. In the proxy server box enter: 193.113.200.195
11. Tap OK.
12. Back in the connections settings screen, tap the Advanced tab.
13. Tap 'Select Networks'
14. In both drop down boxes choose 'Work' as the connection. Tap OK.
15. Tap OK again.
16. You are now ready to surf o2 pay as you go gprs full internet.
thanks cruisin-thru...
Do those settings give you free GPRS access then? i.e. Is this some kinda 'back door' to 02 GPRS?
I'm on 02 contract with 250 mins a month which I don't normally use completely. From your other posts, do I understand that I can use those minutes when I want to surf the web? I have a GPRS connection and a WAP network GPRS connection available to me when I tap the Connectivity icon but I've do idea why... Is one of them normal cost-per-MB GPRS and one a cost-per-minute connection, perhaps, which I can use with My free contract minutes?
I am referring to payg only, I have no knowledge of contract costs and whether you can use the free minutes for internet over gprs.
Aaah. OK. Never mind - thanks though.
does this work on the 300free txt o2 sims?
I cant get it to work on my xda 2, ive checked the connection settings over and over
it connects but no pages load "The page you are looking for cannot be found"
Ryan, yes it works with that sim, have you double checked the settings, the proxy and the work settings?
well yes and no..
ive got the GPRS settings menu with the authentication types etc what should they be set at.
And for some reason i dont have "Work" tab mines been renamed somehow and if i try reaming it back it says work already exists ive checked the proxy settings etc.
Any way i can restore the settings back to orginal or use a pre setup settings fine?
Thanks
I delete all settings before inserting those listed. You dont have to name a new setting, "work" is chosen from the drop down menu.
o2 payg xda2
Yeah it does work fine.I've used internet for sometime with no charge as yet!!
The only thing is,email doesn't connect. Is there an answer to this anyone.I think it's because email needs an isp connection. Thanks to anyone.
There seem to be a number of conflicts of understanding showing in this topic, much due to O2's less than transparent pricing and information policies.
First though, the difference between GSM WAP/Web and GPRS. Any tariff which mentions Minutes refers to GSM (=dialup) only. Anything referring to Data volume relates to GPRS.
GPRS is a digital connection piggybacked onto the normal GSM signal, and is theoretically up to 6X faster than GSM, and is capable of being "Always On" like domestic broadband. Most times, the speed is only about 2-3 times faster due to network congestion.
The Free GPRS WAP was offered by O2 on some of its PAYG plans, and on some PostPay contracts. AFAIK this has now been discontinued, but some PAYG plans do give 1Mb free GPRS as long as you top up £10 in a month. Current WAP GPRS charge is £2.35 per Mb, and the billing is often up to 2 months behind so if you have an older PAYG SIM, and think your GPRS is free, make really sure before you go merrily surfing!
The ability to make settings changes to the XDA II Work Connection (which is actually the WAP APN) is due to the proliferation of more advanced phones like the Nokia 660 which allow enhanced WAP, by using a proxy setting to enable Web content over WAP. This was a great workaround earlier this year when all WAP GPRS was free. This APN does not and will not allow MSN and POP3 email, except for the O2.co.uk domain.
O2 are now starting to offer cheaper GPRS bundles as "Bolt-On's"- currently Data 36 giving 36Mb of GPRS for £17 per month, plus the old Data5 at £8 (?) per month.
As to the original question- what is better, PostPay or PAYG, at the moment, the GPRS charges are the same, for new customers. WAP or Web is £2.35 per Mb, but bolt-ons favour PostPay customers. PAYG remains an expensive way to make phone calls!
Thanks for explanation. So I might not be connecting gprs, and a bill in two months.Wow.

You will know you are connecting via GPRS cos the signal icon changes to show the 2 horizontal arrows.
And the 2 month GPRS charge delay is extreme- more commonly 2-3 weeks. That is on an online contract- can't give any definitive times for PAYG, but I can't see them being much different.
I have never been charged, there is free access bundled with the monthly topup.
Thanks to everyone for replying to this topic as it has made it a lot clearer, I will look at the option crusin-thru stated and those referenced by NeilM. Much appreciated..thanxs j

How old is your PAYG SIM card?
I think the T&C's changed about 3 months ago, so you anyone buying a PAYG SIM since then will only get the 1st 1Mb free, with £10 top-up
Thanks Neil I asm PAYasuG on virgin for over 2 years expensive I know but not being a large phone/text user then it is expensive. If I want to upgrade my phone I realise I can buy on ebay/private etc but it would probably be better biting the bullet and buying a contract to get the upgrade. Thanks john

Bye bye O2!

With the recent completion of my 12 month contract wih O2, I decided to try to get a better data tariff for my Himalaya.
Best O2 could manage - 50mins talk, 200sms, 11Mb gprs for £24pm on a 12 month contract.
Vodafone - 200mins talk and 1000sms (or equivalent amount of mms / gprs) That's equivalent to 50Mb of gprs usage!!! And, it only has a 1 month cancellation period.
I sure hope I'm not missing something, because the SIM is already on its way!
Has vodaphone said that the smsi are equivalent to to GPRS? That's a really good package, 50mb of gprs. Is it all for £24 as well? ex vat?
V
The Vodafone rep specifically told me that 20sms = 1Megabyte data, and I was quite specific about the fact I wanted a good data tariff on my XDA2 for browsing, email, etc... and as the call was recorded.. it *should* work out OK.
This is great! Means I can use traffic update on Tomtom as much as I want. Might even buy a Backpack so I can email images from my Canon 300d. 8)
The guy was really very persistant though, I have to say. I'm sure these call centre guys must get some SAS training in interogation. Had its plus side though, he made a point of sifting through the available phone numbers until I got one I liked
Not sure about inc/exc VAT, but in my limted experience of mobile companies to date, quoted prices are inclusive.
I can't understand how an SMS would be 50KB. I was under the impression each SMS would be around 256 bytes - hence the 160 character limit.
I know, the sums were flying through my head faster than treacle up a shovel when I was on the phone to vodafone
But at the end of the day, 50Mb is 50Mb, and £25 is £25. So, as long as I can genuinely use 50Mb of gprs in any given month for £25 (plus, use 250 minutes of talk-time), then wayhey! Let's see if i can make Vodafone introduce a 'fair usage' policy!
Yeah O2 suck. I unlocked my Orange M2000 (Blue Angel) and they won't give me any GPRS Pay and Go settings that will work, I have tried everything. Orange are now offering the same tariff I am on with o2 with 300 free texts, 1mb free GPRS when you top up £10 a month. They also offer a free Sim Card if you apply before Wednesday and free calls to Orange customers for 5 years. Is anybody on this tariff with Orange? Would you recommend me trying it? Do you think I will be able to access GPRS even though I am on Pay as you go?
Many Thanks.

@ Waddington..Have you tried all this?
I take it you've been through all this??(below) I just got 2 free sims from O2, 100minutes free to any mobile, 1MB GPRS (on pay n go), 100 free texts or mix n match what you want.
O2 Xda IIs GPRS WAP Pay and Go settings:
Make sure that when entering 'O2' into the settings that the letter 'O' is selected and not a zero.
It is not possible to select the 'Prepaid' option within Tools > Connections in the O2 Active UI on the Xda IIs - 'Postpaid' is selected as default and cannot be changed.
To use the Xda IIs with an O2 Pay and Go SIM the WAP settings will need to be changed manually. Note that it will not be necessary to carry out a hard (full) reset in order to complete this.
Important: Once the WAP settings have been changed, if a hard reset is carried out at some future point, then the settings will automatically be re-configured back to Postpaid and they will need to be manually changed again.
Note: Only WAP services are possible with a Pay and Go SIM. For services that need a web connection (web browsing, POP3, MSN Messenger), a Pay Monthly SIM would be required.
1) Tap Start
2) Tap Settings
3) Tap the Connections tab
4) Tap the Connections icon

Hi, Yeah I have tried all of that. A number of times. I managed to get my PDA to say connecting but then it says disconnected. It’s a shame really because I really like O2 but not being able to access GPRS on this mobile especially because it’s a PDA is not good. I will defiantly keep my O2 Sim card just in case they give support for GPRS on the blue angel sometime. I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
There may still be hope..
@Waddington..There may still be hope. Register with www.simalert.com They email you the second they get any FREE SIMS deals, from VODA, ORANGE, O2, T-MOBILE etc. I just got 2x O2 Pay n Go Sims for free, 10pound topups , 100 free texts , 100free minutes to any mobile, 1MB free GPRS downloads, plus your 10pounds of calls. O2 should REALY treat there Pay n Go customers equaly as Contract customers
The O2 XDA 2's is a high end piece of kit, and a good sale for O2.
It's only fair that O2 should treat us with more respect and service.
Seeing how these new Pay n Go sims support GPRS, and O2 should be helping you out with your Sim. Is it an XDA issue or a Sim issue?
If its a SIM issue then they should send you a new one with your exiting number, it's no big deal to them, it's just a few keystrokes to them. And you pay them at least 10pounds every month plus Bolt-Ons.
A simcard must cost O2, 0.002p to mass produce. good luck!
Re: GPRS/MMS/ Settings etc
For anyone looking for automatic cab installs for your Mobile Carrier, please go to this link to download. They are sourced from I-Mate support website. Just copy the correct cab to your pda and tap to install.

Cheers but..
Thanks Daz but I have been on the I-Mate site and could not register as I have an O2 XDA serial number etc.. Also I tried everyhting Waddington did and I can't connect either I'm sending O2 this thread, may they hang there heads in shame! Orange do a good new sim dont they? I've orderd one and it was FREE. To O2 : You know what you can do with O2.
Now on Vodafone
Update... received vodafone sim (day later than expected, but hey), but it wouldn't register on the network.
3 calls later to customer services (twice cut off) and it transpired that the phone number didn't match the sim. Fixed, but now with a phone number consisting of random digits (not the 'magic' number I had been promised).
Few days later, I receive sms messages for someone else. Another call to customer services reveals that someone at vodafone has inadvertently entered my sim number into this other person's account. So, had to collect a new sim from the local vodafone shop and call customer services to activate it. However, did get a months free line rental and free number change (now have a decent number).
Just as well I'm in a good mood this week!
Vodaphone, O2, Jokers!
OMG! they are all as bad as each other, employing staff fresh out of Burger King!!! No wonder they make so many mistakes.. I just got a FREE Voda Sim , do I dare try topping it up? I think not after reading that last post.
I have some of them new O2 GPRS enabled (or so called GPRS enabled) sims. I think I will email O2 again and see what kind of automated reply I get. with all these cards looks like I have a pack of JOKERS!! OK gang it's time to FLAME ON! i'm gonna email the crap out of O2 until I get some service! because of the NON SERVICE OF GPRS originaly offered to me and Waddington etc etc :: [email protected] - has anyone got the cutomercare email address for VODAPHONE? ORANGE? this would be helpful as I can't afford to phone them.
21-11-05 COMPLAINT TO O2 MANAGEMENT.
TO: [email protected] ("DIRECTOR" OF O2 CUSTOMER SERVICE)
Dear Sir/Madam, I am absolutly disgusted that your company can't figure out a way to make the O2-XDA-lls WAP work properly, so many other people with the same problem now get this pre-made message saying that "The O2 XDA 2s can't be WAP enabled to Pay as You Go sim", and thats after you put us through all the previouse setup instructions that takes ages knowing that it wont work anyay!. All that so you can offer us MMS messages which no one uses!. And the tarrif includes WAP access and or 1MB of WEB SURFING on my Newer Sims, and these wont work either! This is a flagrant breach of your terms and conditions. And trying to make it alright by offering us MMS messgaes? well I dont want MMS messages , AND THEY DONT WORK ANYWAY even if I did want them! and I DONT.
O2 should hang there heads in shame! at the total disrespect of Pay n Go Customers! treated like third class citizens after buying High End Flagship O2 XDA PDA phone..
I NEED WAP or GPRS ACCESS!. I suggest that your Management look at this thread:

flame O2 DIRECTOR CUSTOMER SERVICE: [email protected]
This has been a terrible experience O2!
Dear Viveck (director O2 customer service), I awoke to find my "G" symbol stating that GPRS is now setup? so I tryed to connect and it said It was connected, great I thought. So I tried connect to a WAPSITE , nothing, I tryed to connect to several other WAP WEBSITES, nothing, AND I'm getting charged for it! I recieved a message form O2 to say TopUp or loose your allowance, so I topped up just earlier, and got nothing in return! my number is 07*********, I have just recieved another text message, its saying My TopUp is taking longer than expected??? and we are sorry for the inconvenience??? what is going on?? I have still not recieved my topup.
This is completely unacceptable, I would like some kind of compensation for the complete incompetance and run around i've had with O2's lack of service.
The reply from my last complaint from O2:
Currently you are subscribed to the free allowances of 300 text messages and 300 WAP minutes and you will be "charged" to access WAP via GPRS.
Please connect to WAP using the GSM network.
The only free WAP calls we offer are those made via the dial-up numbers of 915000 or +447712927927, otherwise your WAP connection will be chargeable as a cross network call.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can someone tell me how to connect using GSM?? As O2 have failed to tell me how. I seem to recognise the above +447712927927 I'm sure thats the one thats always been in my sim settings. any help would be appreciated. I have had no reply from Viveck Dev. good grief
This might work, but I'm not gaurunteeing anything..
From O2 : Re: No free WAP and or GPRS.
A) Your mobile number 07********* has a free allowance bundle of 300 text messages and 300 GSM WAP minutes. This is why you are charged for accessing GPRS WAP.
I request that you immediately call 2425 free or text 'ONMSG' to 21300 to change your free 300 GSM WAP minutes to 1 Mb GPRS WAP.
Your Anniversary date is the **nd of every month.
B) I cannot find any top-up attempt for your mobile number 07******** in the last 30 days. This is why your free allowance bundle has not been reactivated.
"ACTUALY I DID TOPUP AT 10.A.M. I RECIEVED MY TOPUP AT ABOUT 1PM"
Please let us know which top-up method was used. E-TOPUP WAS USED
I ASKED FOR SOME COMPENSATION:
C) You are eligible for a free Joining Treat AND an O2 Treat.
Please click the links given below for more details:

MR.****** ***** 07********* SCOLIOSIS SUFFERER WITH NO LANDLINE PHONE. THIS IS MY LIFE LINE.
Dear Sir / Madam, I topped up at approximatly 9.30 AM on the 22nd of November after getting a reminder text from O2 that very morning, PLEASE enable my text and WAP as I am being charged again I have done everything you said to the letter and still I'm getting charged, There was a delay from O2 adding my credit due to a problem with O2 not me. I recieved 3 text messages saying "we are sorry for the inCONvenience etc..."
YOU SAY:
>B) I cannot find any top-up attempt for your mobile number 07*********
>in the last 30 days. This is why your free allowance bundle has not been
>reactivated.
THIS IS BECAUSE THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH O2, NOT ME. I HAVE A RECEIPT TO PROOVE THAT I TOPPED UP ON THE MORNING OF THE 22nd NOV, IF YOU WANT A COPY PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I have also reluctantly made the GPRS changes from GSM WAP to GPRS at 1MB
that you have told me to do, I will wait another day and try it. I dont expect it to work, even though I've spent ages along with many other people trying to make our XDA phones to work at www.xda-developers.com ,
QUESTION: Can you tell me the correct "connection settings" for FREE 1-MB GPRS from an O2-XDA-2s-PDA-PHONE? as the last ones didn't work.
RE: XDA-DEVELOPERS Sorry for multiple posts BUT this may help some of you complain and get some kind of compensation.
o2 and net connection
OK team reading the thread I m not too sure what service is availiable through o2 .
I have an Alpine ( XDA 11i) and use a number of sims . I only use the P A U G sim for net access and limit my self to £10.00 per month , which at their rates of £ 2.35Mb is almost nothing , but it works .
In the past I have also been able to connect to the net on the 927 no but not at GPRS speed ( cellular line , not cellular line GPRS), at a real catapillar speed . Now this wont work at all and I get a no modem at this No dialoge box !!! . however , if you dial the No on a normal phone and listen there clearly is digital traffic ( ie a modem ) .
Any thoughts
Astro1
I still need correct settings , I CAN get GPRS to connect but NOTHING surfs up at all WAP and WWW. sites. I choose 50 minutes to any mobile, then they sent me a text saying I have the free minutes everymonth till 23 02 06 - I guess its better than nothing (FOR NOW!), BUT my problems havn't been resolved like you I still can't surf up anything, I wonder am I only supposed to Surf WAP sites via GPRS, all the sites I tried said The Page Is Unavialable, yeh right so Google Mobile is unavailable?? I think not. Plus I own a few domains and it can't find them either, I will see what I can find on latest settings emails..
THIS IS UNREAL CHECK THIS OUT: (BIG TYPE IS ME, IM NOT SHOUTING

SO WHAT WAS ALL THAT LAST INFO ABOUT??? ABSOLUTE JOKERS!
THEN SAYS THIS DIRECTLY AFTER??

UPDATE 28-11-2005 :: I have emailed the above details to them and a link to this thread, I hope O2 techies can resolve this problem soon.
God help us all.
Here we go again..
My Reply from, O2 DATA SUPPORT TEAM.. O2 XDA IIs / 2s
From looking at the settings you have below, they would seem generic
settings and not totally applicable to the XDA, I have placed both GPRS
WAP and GSM WAP over Pay and Go below which will get you connected to
the WAP services.
What I would mention is that over WAP we offer this is a WAP service,
but on the XDA you can add an extra port number so in theory you can use
web over wap, for this I have placed extra details below. (note this
isn't supported by us but we have found it to work).
The reason you won't have been able to go to a wap site is that the
settings you have below don't advise you where to enter the proxy
server, which is the part that directs you on to the internet.
To make the XDA choose a particular connection over another, you will
need to go into start, connections, connections, under My Work Network
tap manage existing connections. Within hear, if you have GPRS WAP and
GSM WAP, you can put a dot next to the connection you wish to use, and
this will prioritise itself over the other.
If you have any further queries regarding the devices, do not hesitate
to write again.

Paul

I'm not going to try this until O2 have paid me enough CASH in compensation as My FREE MINUTES, TEXT & CWAP awarded to me as Compensation for the last cockups they made have all been discontinued as from last night before I could even use them!! , so that I can go on Holiday and RECOVER!! and when I return, then, maybe then i'll try this, when I have calmed DOWN!!
I have been going to Anxiety Management for the last year due to a traumatic experience, O2 have put me back to square one!
and thats no joke.
I am now going to www.holymoly.co.uk/cc and posting to C#NTSCORNER!! regarding O2.. because they are without doubt the biggest bunch of C#NTS! I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH!! - British Telecom and BT are already in there I wonder why?

[slightly OT] UK PAYG GPRS data providers

I'm currently with o2 payg but o2 only provide wap and mms over gprs for payg customers. I would like to move providers to one that will allow full gprs web access on a payg basis (pay per MB or something)
A full contract is not an option at the moment.
Anyone have any suggestions ?
thanks,
malty
I'm currently with orange and TESCO (O2)
Both providers allow full GPRS facilities
orange is probably the best, in the long-term
I buy £10 and convert £4 into £16 (4MB) of GPRS
You then get a SMS when it is activated and another when it is used up
It is valid for 1 month
There is also one days unlimited GPRS for £1
Otherwise the standard rate applies at £4 per MB
TESCO uses the O2 network
Flat rate of £4 per MB
how do you go about converting the orange credit into gprs ?
Is it full web access ?
Do you need them to set it all up (enable) for you
To convert the calling credit for uswe with GPRS, convert £4 into "orange world"
Call 450 from your handset and follow the voice menu for "extras"
Would this allow me to use an Orange PAYG sim for full GPRS on my XDA1?
got an orange sim, set it up and its all working perfectly.
thanks for the recommendation !
malty
Yes animmo
The orange PAYG will work with most GPRS devices
However, you will be charged the normal rate per MB
The trick is to load your phone with sufficient credit and then convert this as and when required in bundles of £4 into "orange extras" (or £1 for a days unlimited access)
been on this a couple of weeks now and it works a treat. Ive gone for the free text top up tariff (1000 text messages free if you top up total £30 in a month) plus i've had 2 £4 gprs bundles and a load of free picture messages.
All in all works out very well
One very slight problem I dont know if this is device or provider related. If I connect to the internet then try to send/receive a MMS message, it wont connect to the orange mms server. Conversely if I send/receive a MMS message i cannot then connect to the internet. I have to soft reset the device to switch connections, almost as if a server cache isnt being emptied or the modem isnt being fully reset or something. Going into and out of flight mode doesnt cure it either, just a soft reset.
Any ideas with this fellas ?
thanks,
malty

Web and Walk on any 3g phone?

Hi,
Could someone tell me if I could simply put a T-Mobile sim with web and walk tarrif into the trinity or any other non T-Mobile 3g phone and still get free internet access and msn messenger. Or do I specifically have to use their phones with their own version of browsers and messenger.
Need to know this before deciding which network and phone to go for.
Thanks
I have the same question
I have a SPV-M3100, but I don't know how to get connection settings for
T-Mobile Web n Walk service.
I have searched the forum, but no clear result.
Thank you first if anyone can have an idea.
here in the Netherlands you could do that. You should be able to get a sim-only with w&w and put that sim in any unlocked phone. This is not a logical choice here in the Netherlands since we get great deals when combined with a T-mobile branded phone. T-mobile the Netherlands is promoting some nokia phones as well...(N73)
Shouldn't be a problem - I've used my WnW SIM in several WM 3G and non 3G phones. Just set the apn / usrname / password to
GPRS APN address: general.t-mobile.uk
Username : user
Password: wap
and left everything else at default.
