New BootLogo + BootAnimation Motorola
Hello, I found this video (Moto_Demo) inside the rom 5.0.2 Chinese (Moto X 2014) and decided to create a bootlogo and bootanimation for Moto X 2013.
Installation method:
- Flash it using Custom Recovery (TWRP)
Downloads:
- New Boot - http://www.mediafire.com/?mgv23moyuqwaoot
- Restore Default - https://www.mediafire.com/?d5tm8d6u6m4y72u

Hello, thanks for the awesome boot logo +animation. I downloaded it and flashed it but the animation part doesn't work. You got any clues, what did I do wrong?
Sent from my Moto X using XDA Free mobile app
I edited the zip to get rid of the logo, because I have a custom logo but the animation works perfect. Great job! I'm on stock 4.4.4 XT1053
Work fine. Thanks. I just extract the zip and put bootanimation.zip to system/media.
Because I want to backup my original one.

Work only in original ROM.
Or custom ROMs with support bootanimation in video format.
I went by and converted the video animation to image files for it to work on any custom rom, and stock.
Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for dead devices, world war 3, supernovas etc, just use at your own risk!
THESE ARE NOT FLASHABLE ZIPS!
1080p @ 30FPS: http://tinyurl.com/oym5hc5 (Dropbox Download 60MB)
720p @ 30FPS: http://tinyurl.com/px46n4o (Dropbox Download 40MB)
The 720p Bootlogo is in the MotoG thread by the OP.
Tested the 1080p on my OPO and the 720p version on my MOTO G (2013) and they both work fine. I'll try and upload a flashable zip later on.

My bootanimation? You can't really brick or break your phone by changing the bootanimation. Did you set the correct perms and chown it correctly.
Will this not work on cm12? It was working fine on stock rom, but on cm12 the animation doesnt show up. I think maybe cm doesnt support boot animations in video format?

I've seen this happen when the phone doesn't like the LOGO.BIN. Either there is a problem with it, or the logo.bin is formatted for a different bootloader version (4.2.x roms use a different logo.bin format than 4.4.x roms, and they can cause issues).
Unplug any cables from your XT1058.
Hold the POWER Button on your phone until it stops vibrating.
Wait a few seconds to make sure it has stopped vibrating.
Press, and hold, the power and volume down buttons simultaneously.
Once the screen lights up, you may release.
If that booted your phone into FastbootAP/Bootloader mode, make note of the version number on line 2. If it is 30.B2, 30.B4, or 30.B7, then you are running v4.4, 4.4.2, or 4.4.4, at least bootloader anyway.
If you do get to the FastbootAP mode, you can flash a new logo.bin using mfastboot.
You can use the one in the SBF for your phone, but that will get you the stock, with "unlocked bootloader warning" message.
Or (if you have 30.B2, 30.B4, or 30.B7 bootloader) you can download -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/X-STUFF/X-LogoBins.zip unzip it, (when you un-zip, there will be two folders, one containing the original graphic so you can see it, and one with the logo.bin), find a logo.bin you like, and flash it with mfastboot mfastboot flash logo <filename>.bin followed by mfastboot reboot and you should be working normally.
nice
Awesome work brother. Flashed it through twrp and it works really fine on my phone, i am on 4.4.4 asia retail.

Hey guys!
After unlocking my bootloader, I got this unattractive warning boot image. I didn't like it, so I replaced it with something I think is more fitting to the phone!
Here's a one:
Motorola logo, like the one on the box art:

If you need an original one (stock file, no modification), here it is:

Thanks, the box art logo looks much better than the bootloader warning.
Can you use your graphics wizardry and make a version of the box art logo with a black background instead of white? (The big M would still be white)

Not sure what happening with me here, I can flash the .bin to get of the unlocked bootloader warning but I've tried flashing the .bmp and also even tried just flashing the zip itself via the fastboot method ( fastboot flash logo thenameoftheimage.bmp) and I get a corrupted graphic with a box in the center of the phone.
Advice ?

What's the difference between this and THIS? I see two different file types, and logo VS clogo.....bit isn't it the same splash/boot screen? Confused at the differences if there are any?
This is the stock undeodexed Moto G Google Play Edition Rom!
Installation instructions
1. Download Rom.
2. Download CWMGPE.zip Should be in attachments(thanks to ffosilva for compatible gpe build)
3. Make sure your on stock 4.4.2 Moto NOT GPE
4. Boot to CWM
5. Install Rom.
6. Install CWMGPE.zip
7. After all is finished go to advanced in cwm recovery.
8. Reboot to BOOTLOADER!
9. when in bootloader mode plug phone into pc.
10. Use these two commands.
Fastboot erase userdata
Fastboot erase cache
11. Now reboot to system.
12. Wait to power up and wait untill you get past all the google screens then go to bootloader again.
13. Go to recovery.
14. if all went well you should have cwm recovery that works with gpe!
15. OPTIONAL: Flash supersu zip and see if it flashes.
Install at your own risk! I am NOT at fault if this messes up your phone even though it shouldnt!
Install with any custom recovery even though i only tested on cwm.
Thanks to oldblue910 for the system dump now we wait for the kernel!
Rom Download!:MotoGPE
V.2! Download V.2 Remember you have to use these commands after flashing the rom!
boot into fasboot mode and use: Fastboot erase userdata and fastboot erase cache and it should boot past the enter encryption code!
CWMGPE compatible:CWMGPE.zip
FOR MOTO CAMERA DOWNLOAD ! its not a flashable zip just unzip and put the two files in the piv-app folder with any root explorer and change permissions to rw-r-r for both and reboot and then you should have the camera and galary back

Edit: It contains Apex launcher for some reason.
Do any of you guys know if we can flash CWM or TWRP on this rom?
It doesn't delete the recovery so you can have cwm or anything that can flash lol and this ROM is not rooted BTW if you want to root just install supersu zip or any other method

LG 4.4.2 Stock Rom - Massively debloated, only has a few apps left. All LG features should work. Requires custom recovery. Do not flash AOSP or 4.2.2 kernels.
This includes my new updater script for kitkat so it actually has a /system folder instead of the system.img.
You can find the standalone updater script here. I believe it is the first created, every KK rom I've seen is not editable using a system.img. It took a few hours to create.
The kernel is stock but I made some small adjustments and toolchain fixes.
I have a custom kernel for this up in this forum.
Instructions.
Full wipe besides for internal storage
Flash Kitkat modem here (If you aren't already using it)
Flash Rom here (mirror soon, but not yet since I need to reupload)
Flash SuperSu here
If you get a "symlinks failed" (happens right away if system doesn't mount properly) reboot back into recovery re-wipe and flash again.
You are the man!?!?? I should have never left your lg 4.4 build. Flaked another and paid for it.
Thanks again doc!!

It will download if you go to the torrent file using a file explorer like estrongs. I don't know why it doesn't work the way it used to by just opening up after downloading the torrent file but at least your not totally screwed.

twrp 6.3 failed had to upgrade to 2.7 for it to flash.
i've tried every single Kitkat rom I have get my hands on, followed the instructions to the letter and if I turn this screen off and turn it back on, its just lines. White lines or colored lines. Every single f*cking kitkat stock rom. I don't get it. i'm ready to throw the thing into the river.
I know its not your rom, and it works flawlessly as long as I don't turn off the screen.

This is probably one of the most confusing issues to me since everyone here has the same device, downgrading to the same exact partitions yet some people have these line issues which makes no sense to me at all. I've been trying to figure it out but its a pretty confusing issue, its not like we have different variants. We can maybe try upgrading tz and rpm partitions since they will work with this bootloader
The only thing complete stock has that this don't is the new partitions and I'm really not sure why it's causing issues for some people

Not sure why, but I just can't ever seem to get any bootanimation to work for me. Permissions are set correctly (I think anyway) to rw - r -- r -- and the original bootanimation.zip is moved elsewhere.
There are a few variants however in my 'media' folder, such as bootanimation_gb.zip / bootanimation_at.zip / bootanimation_hk.zip / bootanimation_se.zip / bootanimation_it.zip are all present as well.
After rebooting my phone didn't have the Three branded boot, it just had the extended LG boot screen with the light shining on it etc.

Hello all!
So, the biggest request I've gotten for my GPE ROM was to port the Sense camera and Gallery over. For a long time, I told people it was impossible, largely because I was just too lazy to try it.
But, it turns out that when I did actually give it a whirl...it wasn't that hard to do.
Earlier iterations had issues with either the Gallery working correctly, or the duo effects being unavailable...until now.
So, it's with quite a bit of joy that I present to you a flashable .zip of the Sense Gallery and Camera that are 95% working. The only issue I currently have is that it does not record Zoes. However, duo effects, pano, split shot...all that good stuff works.
This has been tested on a M8 GPE ROM on Verizon, but I'm pretty confident that it will work on any other non-sense ROM, and any carrier. Heck, it might even work on other devices besides the M8. IDK. Give it a try.

I can confirm it works on AOSP Rom's
Is that a date in the thread title?
Duo effects not working for me, everything else is fine. Verizon M8 on 12/9 edition of your ROM with latest lollipop firmware
@digitalhigh possible to fix the HTC Video editor?
I want to edit slow motion movies.
Installed fine on CM12, but like mentioned above, DUO effects weren't available. And video recording was only available at MMS size.

I think I figured out why Duo isn't working...it relies on the "stock" PhotoEdit app as well. I'm going to try to test this theory a little better.
Duo Effects were working for me on Team UB or Candy5 AOSP Rom, I don't remember exactly what rom I was on since I changed to a different one. Duo Effects take minute to take effect after selecting one.

I'm on stock gpe kinda following your mod. with your zip and the photo edit it does work with the duo effects, and all the seasons effects.
This is a mod that I've been waiting for! I have flashed the zip file, although I do not see any htc camera or gallery app upon reboot. Should I try re-downloading the zip?
Edit: I'm on stock GPE 5.0.1

Are you sure you don't see it? After flashing and rebooting I didn't have to do anythign special. HTC Camera is just called "Camera", so make sure you're looking in the right place
Yeah it isn't showing up. I'll try re-flashing and report back!
Edit: Yeah it is still missing. I re-downloaded the zip and flashed but nothing showing up. I'm 100% stock 5.0.1 from google (real gpe phone)
Flashed with Flashify and now I'm stuck on a black screen with the green droid and red triangle. Can't even turn the phone off.

I'm sorry, you flashed this with flashify? Why would you use that?
No dice
I tried flashing in TWRP 2x on LiquidSmooth v4.0. No luck for me either

I'm quite fresh to HTC flashing, and I knew that Flashify had this "flash zip" option. Seemed pretty straightforward to me.
