Wrong forum.
You would think there would be a "delete thread" option when editing your own thread. Oh well

first thing would be to post in the correct forum

Try reformat and/or replace internal and external sd card.

Well, I am not using an external SD card at the moment, as for the internal SD, are you suggesting that I somehow remove it? I am fairly certain that it is soldered to the board.
Sorry its in the wrong forum, I generally post stuff in general all the time. Seems most people post in general when they have an issue or question. I know, at least for me, this is where I respond to most "help me" posts.
However, I shall get someone to move it.

Can I swap sd cards after root?

I'm trading my cappy for my wifes inspire. I rooted it and flashed coredroid. I want to drop in my sd card out of my cappy and take the sd card from the inspire and put it in the cappy. Can I do that after making it a gold card?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
yes yes yes. I use one for movies and another for roms and mods.
Thanks. So she can keep her gold card and i can take the cappy card and still flash away?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Yes you only need the gold card to downgrade the phone to get root and after that you are done with it.
Kind of the same problem
I root mi inspire with a 4gb sd, now I found my 8gb sd can I swap it without any problem? Thanks in advance.

Have I just "bricked" my new phone - Nexus S 4G

Forum says no noobs but, the other forum options didn't seem to fit with my issue. If this is in the wrong place, please point that out to me.
I just purchased my NS4G today and tried rooting it. The end result leaves me at a Google screen with a padlock on the bottom.
I have searched a lot and have read about a lot of fixes but, none of them are working. I am at my wits end.
I tried to download recovery images and flash them but my CMD just says cannot determine image filename for 'recovery.img'
I have tried removing the battery, entering recovery mode and wiping everything to no avail.
Am I completely screwed?
Ok, so I was able to get the recovery image flashed, but i rebooted and still get the google screen.
Any tips?
Ok, making some progress. I got the ClockworkMod Recovery working however, I cannot mount my phone..
I've installed the Samsung drivers, ADB, and Android SDK, but I'm not able to send Superuser to the device..
Any clues?
Allow me to add to my external monologue.
I can't seem to mount my NS4G as a USB Mass Storage device. Windows 7 is not recognizing the phone...
What to do, what to do...
So now I really am stuck. I can't load this Superuser zip onto the phone because my USB Mass Storage is not working.
Please, anyone, lend a guy a hand. I'm confused and worried.
Thank you.
I probably will get warned/modded/banned but anyway try

[Q] Trying to Root My Samsung Galaxy S2 (i727R)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340526
And in here using the ODIN method, it says things needed and SDCARD installed for CWM recovery.
Does this mean a seperate physical SDCARD? Since my SII just has the internal storage.
Any help is welcome, considering that rooting this phone is way different than an Xperia X10
Thanks!

u can use internal, just navigate to internal to flash su once u have odin'd cwm, but u dont really need su for root as all roms here are prerooted, i suggest to read my sig b4 u go any further
Well i do not want any roms, i want to stick with the stock 4.0.4 ICS that Samsung Kies provides, i just want the phone rooted.
Tis why i am mildly to extremely confused
Use this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340526
But use touch recovery from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566613
Also use latest superuser from rom manager.
I did this last night in about 10 mins downloads incl. super easy,
*Place the "superuser.zip" on your Internal Memory. (thats all I have) and browse to it using the CWM

then do the first part of my answer and flash su from internal, just make sure u have a nandroid backup, but all the fun stuff is in trying out roms

Right so i followed through, and i have clockworkmod installed, problem is when i go to back up current rom, it cant find sdcard -____- so that kind of answers my own question

Laughing at people and saying read my Sig every 5 min helps nobody. If you're not helping them don't respond. You do help people a lot, and you also say read my Sig a lot. That makes people feel stupid and worthless. Any micro sd card will work for what you need. Best buy has a few 8gb and under for less than $20. Personally i use nothing but sandisk. You're doing good so far op, you're getting through it. Lemme know if you need help with anything. Pm me anytime.

ya, youre a great help, i wasnt laughing at him, i was lol at the post, i did give him the answer as he doesnt need an ex sdcard(but preferred), and reading my sig does help, it helps them help themselves!
why do u think my sig is the way it is, ive read a few hundred posts here on the i727 forum b4 i even attempted to flash, i did not want to brick my baby.
too many users come on here read a few posts, head straight to the devs, dont understand what they are reading in the devs op, but flash anyways, then cant understand why their phones arent working when everyone else's is, its kindly advice.

Nand vs class 10 MicroSD

i have a 32 GB microsd card in my phone and ive just read about apps2sd (ive used it before just never fully read about how it worked
i read about it here, just google this [ext 4 or ext 3 android] its the first one
im going to set it up on my current phone and having to choose between apps2sd or apps2sd+ , i was wondering which ones actually faster on the desire s
is it the nand or the class 10 micro SD I have, and does the kernel have any impact on either two
would like multiple peoples opinion on this, and would like to know which ones people have used before + are using at the moment
Please move your post in Q&A section. Is not his place here.

SD card problem

Hi, new on this section. I didn't root (and hoped not to unless drastic situations appear) and since I didn't get the OTA update for Android 5.0, I got impatient and flashed it. It's all going well until I realise I have less storage than I am supposed to have. This is because I have two sd cards on my storage. Or as ES File Explorer says so. They re storage/emulated/0 and storage/emulated/legacy. Basically, whatever I have is duplicated and doubled. What I add or remove in one goes in the other so deleting one is not an option. Any idea on what I should do?
Thanks. I have root in case you're wondering.
EDIT: Problem is something else. Check page 2. Please help! Thanks.
Wow... Nope.. You are the first person to have ever mentioned this issue

If that is so, then why does my storage show lesser available space than usual? Why do i "use" 8gb if i only actually used 4gb, thus taking up more of my 12.something GB?

Let's say he is right. It isn't duplicated. Then is it possible for me to fill up 8GB worth of stuff into my phone? Cuz then the file managers etc. will read as 16GB which is more than the 12.55 GB I have. Therefore transfer incomplete.
Do a factory reset from the boot loader/recovery
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
If you have TWRP or similar, then just wipe the user data partition. Had to do it on mine as it was showing 16Gb instead of 32Gb after flashing the factory image.
Okay, I realised that its not the duplication of my storages that's the problem. It shows I use 11.7 GB when I just use 8GB. Therefore, there is 3.7GB storage taken up by an unknown source. Do I still use the method stated above?
Well? Anything can be done about this problem of mine? 3.7 GB is quite a bit of space out of my 12.55GB.
Bump. I really need help.
