HI,
I unlocked my Treo 750v and I'm now using it with Orange in France. The annoying thing I have noticed is that no matter how hard I try to change the voicemail speed dial button on the Today Screen it always reverts back to the voicemail number for SFR in France.
Anyone figured out how we can change that number so we can actually use the speed dial on key 1?
Thanks,
smmonla
This is all due to the service/app called PorkPie... Its the Network (settings)database engine, when a SIM is entered, it looks at the IMSI and provisions the relevant settings for that network to the device (GPRS, Voicemail etc).
Check the regkeys :
HKLM/Software/Palm/Varnish & HKLM/Software/Palm/Porkpie
I can only guess that when you enter a french SIM it then automaticly uses SFR (they are Vodafone right?)
HI,
thanks for you reply.
SFR is the vodafone partner in france.
How can I acces the regestry.
thanks

Hi there. I'm a Yank with an unlocked Vodafone Treo 750 living in Aussie. I've been running with an NZ P-A-Y-G sim for several months just for data, but I broke down yesterday and bought a '3' Network sim which I WAS TOLD would also give me access to their 3G data net. Which is what I wanted. I also bought a $30 credit.
Previously I could check my email with my NZ sim. Now, I can 'see' 3's UMTS network but can't access it. I checked out the 3 support website and tried configuring my phone according to their specs. Nada.
Today I called customer care in India and the nice lady there tried to walk me through setting up and email account. When I explained that I couldn't even get on their net, she put me on hold and told me that 3 PAYG sims don't support their 3G net. Never mind the guy in the shop AND the documentation that came with the sim both indicate otherwise.
If there is anyone who can help me configure my network access AND my SMS access I would appreciate it. Many thanks,
SF SJ
I too use an unlocked US Treo 750 on Three here in Australia. I was pulling my hair out trying to configure it until performing a hard reset. Unfortunately, this is the only way it will work. Remember to back up whatever you need from the Treo beforehand as this procedure wipes everything.
Place the 3 USIM in the Treo 750
Perfom a hard rest by simultaneously depressing the soft reset button under the flap and the power button
Start / Settings / Connections / Connections
Under My ISP / Add a new modem connection
Name: 3services
Select a modem: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
Next
Access point name: 3services
Next
Username, password, domain: (leave all theses fields blank)
Finish
Return to the Manage existing connections screen
If only one option (3services) is available, click OK
Otherwise
Select: 3services and click OK
Start / Settings/ Personal / Phone / Services / Band Selection
Select network type: Auto
Select Band: Auto and OK
Now soft reset the phone
Open Internet Explorer and navigate to http://three.net.au

Thank you for the list.
I'm on an att business account and have the ability to dial *data# to get a data usage report via sms. Thanks for the list!
How bout giving him a thanks on the forums lol...

USSD codes are either carrier-specific or phone-specific.
However, my understanding is that the catch is that phone-specific means the stock ROM, not just the physical phone. So if you're running another ROM, phone-specific USSD codes may not work.
I've got CM 10.1.3, and I have not found a single phone-specific USSD code that works.
Cool
Thanks For Sharing Sir

Sir,
I Need Your Help *#8736364# OTA Update Menu On AT&T S4
I Am In INDIA .. I Can't Update My Phone Via OTA Because I Unlocked My AT&T S4..
If I Change Any Setting On OTA Update Menu After I Will Get Update ?
Please Please Please
Actually for some reason I can't get the majority of the codes to work on my 2 Galaxy S4s, which are running on 4.2.2 and 4.4.2 respectively. I was particularly interested in the factory reset codes because of some ongoing demo work in current Android vulnerabilities, but similarly there is no response from the dialler after entering the code.
Factory reset codes do not work, as well, on my S4 mini 9195 with 4.2.2.
Anybody knows working codes, or we should use Settings - Accounts - Backup and reset, or Recovery Mode reset option?
Nice.
It should be noted that a lot of them won't work on certain modems. When I went to mk2, I was locked out of service mode. So i have been using MDL modem to have access to more codes.
For instance running mk2 modem, when I would try *#9090# menu back, menu back, menu back, key input 1. My phone would reboot every time. Now on MDL modem. I have access again. The were other codes that did the same don't remember them.
Seems att/Samsung locked you out after each modem update.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Free mobile app
Not so good
Hi
Sorry to tell you that most of these codes don't work on my GT-I9505.
The phone has a rooted stock ROM.

Sir , You Bought AT&T S4 From USA .. Then You Unlocked .. Came To Bolivia .. Still You Are Getting Update .. How Still You Are Using AT&T SIM CARD .. Pleas e Help Me
[Q] Why SIM country & operator codes wrong and how were additional APN's installed?
I’m in Ireland, The offices of the Garda Ombudsman (GSOC) was in the papers earlier this year because it was suspected they were being bugged. Also apparently the Gardai have been recording calls to and from police stations for years without the public (or lawyers) being informed. So recording of telephone calls/interception is topical here is topical now.
Wearing my tin-hat, I did a full wipe and installed a Cyanogen-based ROM on my rooted Samsung Galaxy S (i9000). I manually input the correct APN settings for my network operator (48Months/O2-IRL) and I installed Orbot
I never got a network configuration SMS/MMS from the network operator. But somehow, I found also installed (not immediately) were the following APNs:
Eastlink Internet: wisp.mobi.eastlink.ca
Proximus Internet: internet.proximus.be
Eastlink MMS: mms.mobi.eastlink.ca
Proximus MMS: event.proximus.be
It’s a new SIM from when I changed network operator a few months back. The above four APNs were also installed when it came and I queried this to 48 Months with no response. I never saw these APN’s with my previous network operator.
I downloaded a SIM reader app and got the following results:
SIM State - network locked
SIM country code - be
SIM Operator code 20601
SIM IMSI 20601 8816 582453
Phone type - gsm
Network country ID - ie
Net Oper code - 27202
Net Op name - O2 Irl
Net type - HSDPA
Voice roaming - on
Data roaming - off (even though in my phone settings it is showing as on)
So the SIM country code and SIM Operator code are wrong – being for an ISP in Belgium, and also there are those additional APNs which I never installed.
To my simple mind, APN settings are sent by network operators for auto configuration, so these APN’s came from the network operator. However, I have again queried with them and now they say “The tech team have replied this morning to confirm that there is nothing from the network or anything linked with your SIM that would cause your phone to change the settings on your phone.
Due to that they have had no option but to advise you that the phone must be the reason for this.”
But to my knowledge, there are no preinstalled APNs on the ROM (cm-MacKAY ROM Android 4.4.2), and also a 3rd party app can not edit the SIM country code /SIM operator code.
I would love to get an opinion from a developer more familiar with SIMs/APN’s please
Nearly SOLVED
OK, So tin hat is back in its box now...I emailed Eastlink in Canada and they seem to have solved it - very impressive especially when compared with the responses from my network!
"I have had our network team review your question and they have determined there is no security issue and no data traffic that would affect you.
Google has been changing the method that they use for APNs in AOSP. As part of that change APN's are preloaded in Kit Kat. Eastlink's APNs are correctly present in Kit Kat for Home Network Identity 20601.
If you require further assistance with your questions it is recommended the you contact Android Open Source Project or the Cyanogenmod on line.
Thank You for contacting Eastlink Wireless Customer care. "
