Flash the 8.1 boot image then do the OTA.
Mine is installing now.
Is it necessary to uninstalling magisk first?

I just sideloaded the current stock ROM, rebooted, then the update installed fine. Flashing just the boot image didn't seem to work as a fix by itself.
is a full wipe necessary? im rooted with ad free youtube.. thats all

Anybody share the OTA package for me, please? I cannot download it via the local network in China.
Anybody notice this new option under development settings?
is there a manual way to sideload this update? my phone doesn't get OTA updates.

Yes, I know. But after you sideloaded it your phone will prompt you the new April update OTA and all the next available update in the future. I've done it before so I know for sure.

So you're saying if I sideload the March update (I'm already on it) that I'll immediately get a notification for the April update? Color me suspicious...

You are already on March update and your phone didn't prompt you the new April update? That's strange. Did you try to remove the sim card and let your phone connect to WiFi only then tap on system update?

Why would I do that? Especially when that's not part of the process that you gave earlier? I think the updates are rolling out based off of carrier or some other such criteria. Not simply if you're on x-release you automatically get an update for y-release...

Android 9.0 - Beta 3
PPR1.180610.066
Don't notice anything new so far. It looks like the font may be slightly different, and the kernel has been updated. Still no notch settings, and the lag that happens still exists.
Sorry to be thick but do a have too sidload or flash or is it OTA?
I have no updates...

This was the actual ota, pushed directly to the phone.
Package was released when you posted. I thought you just flashed it through fastboot.

The Beta 4 update killed my WIFI reception on my Essential phone. YMMV
hello together.
I`m on the beta 3 with unlocked bootloader.
When I try to install the update ota on the phone I get a installation error.
What could be the problem? Do I have to lock the bootloader to be able to install updates ota?
I know that I can sideload the ota update via fastboot but would like to be able to get ota updates directly on the phone.

Yes, as was mine. I always flash them through fastboot, I'm rooted and even when I wasn't I had issues with the latest radio not applying, OTA failing even though I unrooted etc. That's why in the post I said I just received the notification.

I did the same, no issues with my home button. Did you get any failed errors? I usually flash each .img myself
New PH-1 owner here, well new to me but mint from someone else lol. Woke up with the OTA update flag. Unlocked bootloader and unlocked critical. Quick download and restart and it's good to go... No chance to play with anything or poke around yet though

Same here. I flashed the latest stable Oreo 8.1 then flashed P beta. It fixed the problem.
What's the best way to flash the fastboot files without wipe? Can I edit out the wipe command in the bat file?

If you're looking to update the build, you can just flash the OTA from the Essential site in TWRP.
Thanks!

Data reset solved the problem.
I also flash the .img myself, didnt get any error while flashing.

Coming from a LG phone to the pixel 3xl, any form of update is a big deal!!
Last changes to ADB in Platform Tools was Middle Of April so Masri is correct.
Amazing. Half the time people whine that phones aren't updated fast enough or don't receive updates. Meanwhile on the board for Pixel 3, where updates arrive at the start of each months, and people apparently don't care?

It’s not people aren’t excited, it’s just a routine security update , nothing really to talk about.
Was hoping Google was.going to include those performance improvements in this update they found, but nope. Not really an exciting update. Alot of people have switched over to Q beta as well
Anyone have the patched boot.img for June? On slow data and want to avoid downloading a huge file if possible
I installed the beta 4 on my pixel 3 xl and had to hard reset or else I was stuck in an endless loop. Took hours to update this time.
I have an unlocked Pixel 3 xl straight from google but have not gotten either the may or june update. Does anyone have idea why?

What's new in platform-tools?
Also, when I connect my phone to my computer running Windows 10 after taking the June update, the device name changed from "Pixel 3 XL" to "crosshatch." Does anyone know why it's going by its code name now? Is anyone else seeing this?

The Device name did not change on my phone though. It's still "Pixel 3 XL." The only thing that has changed is how it is identified on my computer.

Ok, all I care about when my phone is connected to the computer is the computer recognizes it. How it is identified doesn't matter to me. I hope else has the answer to your question.
Well, they're on the Google site. Now...to figure out which one is which ??
Sweet!!

Wish we would get more details. Improvement on smooth display and camera doesn't give us much. Maybe they fixed some of the yellow tinted pictures in the camera.
I'll probably just keep mine on force 90hz anyways. My battery life has been just fine. Even running white theme all the time.

Not really. You'll need to flash the November update with the -w removed, let it boot up, then put a copy of the November boot.img on your internal storage, then patch it with magisk. Then you'll need to fastboot your patched boot.img, and you should be good to go :good:

So .011 Variants have to wait? No Update available yet.
I noticed that they show one of the downloads available are specifically for Verizon and ATT. I have a Google Unlocked Device - but I am on ATT. Does anyone know what happens if I flash the firmware intended for ATT? If my bootloader is locked when I flash it - will my bootloader be locked after flashing ? Just curious.....

No, it won't lock your bootloader. Only you can do that manually. I just updated mine to November, and all is well :good:

You might want to state which version of the Face Unlock issue you're talking about, the one from the DP4 and subsequent downgrade is still there.

Phone boots to black screen, only thing I can do is access the power menu...

Yes I'm talking about the downgrade from dp4 to 10.
Let me tell you what I did,it was by mistake that I fix it.
I was on May build with face id broken,I downloaded the June ota yesterday but by mistake I choose Telstra ota the one that end with 002.A1 and face id work.
Then I realized that the build number is wrong for my phone so I tried to flash the full June build the one that end with 001 and again face id stopped working so I decided to stay with Telstra build

Best advice I could give is to first patch the boot.img when all your magisk modules have either been disabled, or removed. Then dirty fastboot, (-w removed) the factory image to your inactive slot, let it boot up, then fastboot the magisk_patched.img to both slots. Also make sure your platform-tools are up to date. Best of luck to ya :good:

Updates to Telstra and worked. Hope they release an update for the regular software soon. Thank you for the tip.
Worse battery performance on June patch than may
