That's the whole idea. If you keep on wearing the watch, it will remain unlocked after first unlock. (as per manual)
I am not aware of way to manually re-lock the screen.

Swipe screen with no lock?

Hi,
My work requires me to have a password on my phone, and has set the maximum auto-lock time to 29 minutes. If I turn the screen off with the power button and then turn it back on less than 29 minutes later, the phone goes right to my home screen. If I turn it back on greater than 29 minutes later, the phone goes to the swipe/unlock screen.
I like the swipe screen - it prevents me from accidentally opening apps when I reach into my pocket to take out my phone. But obviously I don't want to have to enter a password every time I turn the screen on.
So - is there a way to tell it to activate the swipe screen every time I turn the screen on, but only require the unlock password if it has been > 29 minutes since the last time I turned it on?
Thanks

Settings>Lock screen and security>Secure Lock Settings. There you can turn off "Lock automatically with power button" and you can also change the amount of time under "Lock Automatically". That may take you directly to the home screen though...havent tried it. If you set up a finger print its super easy to unlock, though.
Anyway to make smart lock work for you?

Maybe I didn't explain myself correctly. I don't want it to Lock because I don't want to have to input a password every time. I also don't want to change the amount of time because I don't want to increase the frequency of times that I need to enter the password.
All I want is for the swipe screen to appear every time I turn the screen on. I want the lock screen to appear only when the phone has been off for 29 minutes. My work does not allow us to use the fingerprint unlock.. it has to be an 8 character password.

Yes, smart lock is enabled and works well. But with smart lock, the swipe screen only appears after 29 minutes; I just don't need to enter the password. I want the swipe screen to appear even if the screen has only been off for 30 seconds.

Fingerprint While Screen is Off?

My wife just got her S8+, and we were trying to get the fingerprint sensor too unlock to the home screen the way her pixel would. The way it works now, she has to awkwardly reach for the sensor, then swipe up to unlock the device. Any suggestions, or are we out of luck unless Samsung devices to make this a feature in an update?
Did you enable 'Fingerprint unlock' in the settings? I'm able to unlock my S8+ while the screen is off just by putting my finger over the scanner without swiping anything.
I'm not sure of this caused it, but we ran a system update and it started working as expected. Again it may be a coincidence, but it started working right after the update. Mods can delete this thread of they want, it's not a relevant question since it seems to have been a bug.

Yeah, same here
How is the fingerprint unlock supposed to work? On my Nexus 6P, with the screen off, you just put your finger over the sensor and the phone turned on, unlocked. But it seems the S8 requires you to push the power button, then use the fingerprint scanner. Is that correct? Is there a way to have the fingerprint sensor turn on the screen?
(Yes, I do have "fingerprint unlock" turned on in settings.)

I don't have to push my power button to get it to unlock. I just place my finger over the sensor with the screen off and it works instantly and doesn't show the lock screen.
Don't delete it, I almost gave up on this option, reading this made me try again and it's much improved, thanks!
Interesting. I'm not sure what I'm missing, but I can't get mine to do that.
Edit: I may have bigger problems. I can't actually get the phone to lock. I have smart lock turned off and only pattern selected for screen unlock type, but I can just swipe on the lock screen and go to the home screen, without entering the pattern. I assume these two issues are related.
Further edit: OK, the second issue was because of the "secured lock time" setting. So, unrelated.

Well, I got it to work. It actually was the "secured lock time" setting. Basically, if the phone isn't actually locked (because the time in that setting hasn't passed), even though the screen is off, the fingerprint sensor won't wake it. But if more than the set time has elapsed, it does.
Not the best design, but that explains it. My advice: set the secured lock time to zero ("instantly with the power key or when the screen times out").

Hmmn, I have mine lock instantly via power button and tried it... Still works for me
I didn't explain it well. Locking instantly is the way to go.
For some reason, it's set up to use biometrics only if the screen is locked, not just off.

Posted this before but with all the setting correct.
You can simply put your finger on the sensor and it will unlock right to the home screen.
You need to habe the finger print unlock turb on.
This has to be my favorite feature on this phone, beside using it to pull the notification bar down

Does it work on s7 edge?
Is there anyway so I can unlock my phone when it's off using fingerprints?

This is the S8+ forum. You would get a better response in the S7 Edge forums.

Screen unlocks after call

I'm used to answering calls with phone in my pocket and using headphones.
This worked well on my m8, but after upgrade to u11, when call finishes, screen remains on and no lock.
This means that I have to take it out of pocket and lock it.
Is there a way to prevent that?
Maybe in your settings you have define a lock timeout for that?
Mine when call ends shows the PIN Unlock screen. If it's in my pocket it just lock again, I've set 1 minute to it self lock.

What do you mean it's not locking after 15 seconds? The screen timeout or the watch locking is pass code? The only way to lock the device is to have samsung pay enable or have the secice ask for a pass code every time the device is taken off your wrist or when your watch goes into sleep mode which means if you don't use your watch and are not moving your wrist for a period of time the watch will lock.

Lock screen security issue

Hi all,
somebody can me explain why can I wake up sometimes the phone at lock screen without any adjusted security mode?
I mean sometimes if I push the ON button and comes up the lock screen, then I scroll up the screen, the phone is suddenly logged in, I see the home screen. Although I removed before the face unlock mode, or adjusted the pattern mode and the fingerprint mode. Example sometimes if the face unlock mode is on, and my friend get my phone, he can go to the home screen also without any security control, just with the swipe up at lock screen.
I tried to remove the face unlock mode, and turn on just the PIN instead of pattern, but it's no matter.
But sometimes the security identifications comes up (pattern or PIN).
Why does this work so?
Solved.
Can be delete the thread.
The problem was in the smart lock?
