Dell venue pro phone not booting - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I was wondering if you could help, I have a Dell Venue Pro V02s that wont boot, all that happens is the slide out keyboards backlight comes on, then off, then on again, over and over. Also it sometimes gives a screen with a battery and a plug on it, but that doesn't happen often. I think it may need a fresh install of windows phone 7, so if somebody could find that it would be great, thanks!

Status update, I can get the screen with the battery and plug symbol to show up by just putting my finger over the battery pins, but the moment I put in the battery, the screen disappears and the keyboard backlight stays on until it is unplugged and the battery is removed

HTC Touch Pro: Turning off display without going into standby?

I have a Touch Pro, and am wondering if there is anyway to turn off the display without going into standby? Sometimes I Like to hook up to the computer without re-charging the phone, but don't want it to be draining battery power the entire time I'm looking at the file system through the PC.
Check out psShutXP. I'm using it right now to do the same as you!
Thanks, will have to check that out.

[Q] One day and still powered off...

Hi mates, yesterday I've made a change for 7 inch galaxy tab 2, 8GB, more specially the p3110, as well as I rooted it and updatet it and about 6am insomnia makes me take the tablet, So far so ordinary ...
well then turn it on and tells me that my sd is empty Nothing, I lost the data and I am about to make clear the sd, pretends to format and passed 15-20 secs it power off.
I get out of bed and went to connect it to the wall charger, knowing as sometimes if you leave the battery holding power and swiping your finger across the screen some time reappears stack and reloads it, I do it today that should have full charge and nothing, doesn't returns, when I connect it usb pc and when I do turn on the tablet it sounds windows connected usb sound and at the second connecting it disconnects device again, and there will end up pressing the button again
I removed the back cover and I have even removed the battery about 2 hours, reassembled and still doing the same ....
Summary: Does not display anything on the screen and battery charging even having tried the method "samsung" when this happens, (which only have it, with its official android I had to do it once, and recalibrate the battery even reach 4000 and mark its 100%, hence looked last longer and it was when the update and was working fine about 3 hours with it, no problem opening emails looking face and such, nothing out of the ordinary, there is no heat either, doesn't gave any fatigue sign and the battery was at 80% when It turned off suddenly), when you turn the computer connected to the usb nothing still while connecting a second and off the next, only once, until you return to try give the power or any combination, whether recovery, download, nothing shows anything on the screen
however when I connect it to pc to it hears something in windows, that tells me that the board is not dead, and the lcd was working ok and absolutely have any shot.
can you think of anything? I'm already crazy with this ... odin doesn't sees it, that connects the second and still sounds the little sound of I connect I get disconnected every time you try to pull it out, hopefully a recoverable semibrick at home or less silly ...
still nothing??

SM-N915T green screen and then bootloop

So my T-Mobile Galaxy Note Edge (SM-N915T) running rooted Android 5.1.1 just encountered the infamous green screen seen. The first time, the green screen disappeared after entering sleep mode and waking up, then about 5 minutes later, the green screen stayed, even after a full reboot (even the Samsung bootup animation, download mode, and TWRP were tinted, so I think we can rule out software issue). The phone was still navigable and usable, just with a serious heavy green tint, curiously, the phone would change between the heavy green tint and a grey tint, and the tint would stay on the upper 30% of the phone and turn grey as it entered sleep mode, almost as if the phone was trying to correct the display or something was barely making contact inside the phone.
Then the green tint got more intense, I could make out the basic background, the fingerprint scanner let me past the lockscreen, and the S-Pen sounds would still play when the S-Pen was removed, inserted, and when the screen was touched. Additionally, my PC does not pick up the Note Edge, yes I have the Windows drivers installed, USB debugging enabled, and MTP + ADB enabled via the secret menu in the dialer. Also OTG is down, my mouse and keyboard are receiving power, but no longer recognized.
Now, after another reboot, the phone is stuck in a bootloop, with the Samsung and T-Mobile sounds playing over and over again, there is a green tint when the Samsung logo should be playing, but a dark screen (as in, AMOLED off) when the T-Mobile animation should be playing.
The phone can't even properly boot into download or recovery mode anymore.
The phone wasn't exposed to heat or pressure, it was just charging off an ASUS power brick and a LG microUSB cable (and was relatively cool, not hot).
The phone was bought second hand, KNOX is tripped, and well past the warranty period.
So my questions for everyone here:
-Any idea what the problem is? GPU failure? Bad solder? Short circuit? Screen failure?
-Any hope? I heard someone else was able to get rid of the green screen after freezing the phone, but at the same time, I don't want to risk condensation inside the phone if I don't have to, and if it was melted solder from some sort of charging issue, heating the phone would probably be a better solution.
While I do have backup phones and and a backup of all my files in case something like this happened, I'm going to miss the curved edge and the S-Pen, and I don't want to take the phone to a 3rd party repair shop, considering you can buy an used functional Note Edge for less than the price of a replacement display, besides, the new Note 7 looks nice.
Anything that hasn't been mentioned above would be helpful... Thanks
UPDATE:
Now the screen doesn't turn on anymore, it flashes green when turned on, but remains dead. The T-Mobile sound still plays, and the motor rumbles for a second, but the fingerprint scanner and S-Pen rumbles and sounds are no longer responsive notification light pulses between white and blue.
Attempting to boot into download or recovery mode yields 2 seconds of green screen, then the T-Mobile boot up sound.
UPDATE 2:
Phone boots properly now judging by the fingerprint scanner responding and S-Pen sound, touch screen also seems to be functional based on S-pen cancel sound, but screen is now completely black, is it safe to assume a screen failure/damage?

SM-J737T1 Screen black, but unit is running

Screen is black and no combination of button input will do anything. Unit will charge and CPU is running since it's sending battery and location data. Unknown if unit may have been damaged/dropped. Have ADB. Help!
The phone is making normal notification and ringing sounds. I managed to locate and run Scrcpy.exe, a "carbon copy" program that lets you remote-in to the unit using a computer keyboard and mouse and ADB over a USB connection.
Invoking Scrcpy.exe I was greeted with an image of the "normal" phone screen (what I should be seeing on the phone's display if it wasn't black.) After about 10 seconds the phone-screen on the computer turned black and I was back to square one. Tried again and quickly used the mouse to trace my unlock pattern, this worked. Using the computer keyboard, mouse and display with Scrcpy.exe I was able to read email, check voicemail, I presume I could do anything I would have been able to do on the phone's touch screen (unknown if the touch screen still works).
Unfortunately I haven't yet been able to coax the phone's screen into displaying anything other than black.
It's beginning to look like the screen is FUBAR -- or is it?
E: The home key, power key, and the touch keys to the left and right of the home key all work. Ran Samsung diagnostics by pressing *#0*# . All diagnostic tests passed except for display and touchscreen.
Will attempt to drain the non-removable battery and try again.
Cured it by draining battery!
The battery was allowed to completely drain and was reconnected to a charger, resulting in the screen coming back to life!
Hooray beer!

Black screen, but phone seems to be on

I have a Google Pixel 1 that I gave to my daughter for her first phone. It was working perfectly yesterday and then the battery seemed to die, so she plugged it in to charge. Today, it looked like it wasn't turning on. There's nothing on the screen, no sounds, no vibration. I thought the battery was still dead and it wasn't charging, but when I plug it into my computer, Android File Transfer pops up like it normally does when I plug a phone in. So I think it's on but just not displaying anything on the screen. I can't even use AFT because it gives me the usual error message that means I have to unlock the phone, but I can't see the screen to put in the password to unlock it.
Is there anything I can do to recover the phone? And what is the diagnosis. Did the screen just die?
Thanks!
