I have had my Galaxy Watch 4 for about 2 months now and I have been getting calls coming straight to my watch without showing up on my phone. The caller ID shows a number about 30 digits long. My watch is only the bluetooth model so it doesn't have it's own number. Anyone else have this problem? If so, how do u make it stop?

I love my Gear S3. The handsfree calling has made my life so much easier and Samsung pay is amazing. I have not taken out my wallet for a week.
My setup:
On my Galaxy S7 Edge I have AT&T grandfather plan (unlimited data and 450 minutes & pay per text).
On my Gear S3 LTE watch I have a 1GB data plan and unlimited voice & unlimited text.
My issue:
When my Gear S3 LTE watch is paired with my phone (Bluetooth or Remote connection), if someone sends me a text to my watch phone number, then I will not receive the text nor will I receive phone calls to my watch phone number.
As soon as I disconnect both Bluetooth and/or remote connection, then if someone sends me text to my watch I will receive it or if someone calls me I will receive the phone call.
This is very annoying, since I have given the watch phone number to various friends, but if my watch is connected to my phone, then any calls to my watch phone number go directly to voicemail, until that is I disconnect my phone from my watch.
how can I resolve this? Please help!
Solved!
I can't begin to explain the frustration and time I spent investigating this issue.
I spoke to more than a dozen service reps from Samsung to AT&T on the phone with various AT&T wireless stores, a visit to a AT&T device assistance store. To no avail, I heard all sorts of excuses ranging from the ridiculous to the probable.
In the end I figured it out on my own.
The issue was that when my Gear S3 Frontier LTE was connected to my Galaxy S7 Edge, then my watch would not receive any phone calls or text sent to my watch phone number . This was because the setting in Settings->Connections->Mobile Networks, if you have it set to 'Auto on/off', then the network connectivity will turn off when connected to the cell phone. When the network connectivity is off, at that point it is just a relay for your cell phone and no network connectivity means that someone calls you it goes straight to voicemail, someone text you it goes directly to a queue and your watch never receives it.
Once you set the aforementioned setting to "Always on" now you can receive phone calls and text sent directly to your watch phone number and text sent directly to your cell phone number as well.
Finally, found my answer!
Now when someone calls my cell phone number I can pick it from my watch and when someone calls my watch phone number I can pick it up from my watch. Same goes for text messages.
I have a few questions regarding GW4 LTE. In my country, it looks like the carrier doesn't support number sharing, so I'll have to set up the watch with a different phone number. My questions are:
1) what happens when I send new texts and calls from the watch on LTE - they will show up with the watch's number?
2) what happens when my phone gets a text sms - will I be able to respond on the watch? If yes, with the phone number or the watch's?
My guess would be the watch number for question 1 and phone number for question 2, but please help me out.
It's going to make a mess on your phone....that's my guess

I walk with just my watch in LTE only, on a separate line with my carrier. I receive texts without issue and answer them without issue. My wife would not respond to a text she doesn't know, so it sends my phone's number and not my watch as far as I know. Have not called anyone in LTE mode yet.

Thank you for this answer. Can you try to make a call and let me know what number is going to show? I have to decide whether to activate a data only line or an entirely new one.

Today, while out walking without my phone, I placed a call to my spare iPhone and it came up with my phone's number, not the watch number. I was using my Watch 3. I'll test also on the Watch 4 within the next 2-3 days.

Thanks. If this is the case, there is an upside (you don't need the carrier to support number sharing) and a downside (your main phone needs to be charged and connected to the network, otherwise calls and texts won't work). Some users reported that the watch 4 will use its separate number, or at least that's what i have heard.

Hi,
I have my S3 Frontier paired with my Galaxy Note 10.
When I make a Whatsapp voice call on the Note the watch takes over the call.
Does anyone have an idea of how can I prevent this?
Found the setting in the Wearables app under notifications:-
I had "Show while using phone" turned on.
The problem has returned.
Any other users experiencing this?

Hey I have the same issue. Note 10 plus and gear s3 frontier. Simce November only. Also, my outgoing whatsapp voice calls over mobile data drops around 1 minute. Is that happening to you as well? This is so frustrating.

Found the answer.
When you start the Whatsapp Voice call Bluetooth is automatically enabled.
You'll see the Bluetooth emblem at the bottom of the screen.
Just tap it and the problem goes away.
Yes but do you think that's the reason why the calls drop? Do you face the same issue on mobile data?
Also, what changed in November? Everything was fine before for me. I had the watch before and whatsapp weren't playing on the watch. Now it plays and I can also accept whatsacalls from the watch itself
Hi guys, when someone is calling me on my new Huawei Watch GT 3 on WhatsApp, first it appears a quick notification screen with the contact name and whatsapp logo on top, and under it it says incoming voice call, but after one second that screen switches to another one where it says Unknown number and I have the option to reject or answer the call. How can I fix this issue? I want that when somebody is calling me on WhatsApp to be able to see the name of the contact on the watch too and not just "Unknown number". On normal calls it's good without problems. Thank you!
I have the same issue but no idea how to fix it.
It is working perfectly only if the watch is paired with an....IPhone.
I have same issue
I am having the same issue with amazfit and huawei GTR 3. Is it related to Samsung phones? I am using Samsung S23 Ultra with my watches.
