Looking for Recommended ROM - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi there, I hate the new OxygenOS theme and was wondering what custom ROM is the closest to the original OxygenOS 10 before it updated? Or failing that, which rom is most customizable to allow a similar minimalist UI?

Stock ROM + Root if you try AOSP will be good but you will have problems with photo quality and WiFi

[Q] Official MIUI or custom MIUI (ie WIUI)?

Hey guys,
I have flashed an ICS ROM 3 days ago, but it doesn't really work that well it was my first custom ROM I flashed in my life
But I decided to try MIUI. So I found this guy called Wajk, and he made this ROM called WIUI. My question to you guys is, can I expect the same (or even better) of a custom MIUI ROM as an official one? And even more important: Will I get the weekly updates?
Maybe some of you have had expierences with custom MIUI ROMs, should I choose the official MIUI ROM or a custom one?
Thanks guys!
P.S. Hope I'm doing this right, first time here on XDA for a long time
You'll get weekly updates if the developer updates his/hers rom every week, and you flash it again every time. But this is unlikely.
I'm myself using a custom MIUI rom, and I love it. Only problems are the built-in screenshot app doesn't work, and the Extended Settings app works neither.
Anyways, it is worth at least trying. Frankly, I think this is the best rom for my phone. All kinds of themes and lockscreens work.

What Stock-based ROM are you still using (2018)?

Just got a spare Z3, and since this device has been quite inactive on developments and such, the most preferred route is to stay stock for stability.
Now, I looked on our Android Development section and there seems to have a couple of stock-based ROMs which are good, and now, even in 2018, I was wondering what stock-based ROMs you guys are still using?
Any bias comments are welcome as long as it's spoken through experience. Also, a combination of Stock-based ROM a Custom Kernel would be nice to hear as well, if you use those.
Thanks guys for noticing~
:good:
Ever heard of OFFICIALLY supported
I use carbon Rom. It's supported officially.
And TWRP 3.2.1.0
Use gapps or mindthegapps
Updated weekly before. Now it's monthly.
No bugs, stable!!
0 problems in 2018
With that firmware & hardware

Any ways to use cyberian camera on carbon oreo? Right now im using existenz on my z3c, everything is ok and it has tones of customizations i can recommend for z3 too. But the best rom for battery is still slimm rom. Whatever lets turn back to my question, only because it is not possible use cyberian cam on carbon oreo i will go for carbon nougat with xperia ui. Can you share your experience with snapdragon camera if you use oreo version?
i have djust used the default camera app that came preinstalled with the rom. as 3rd party apps arent as good as stock. And its really good enough.
and i dont like to use outdated roms still on 6.0 M
im a crazy chronic updater.

search in the Carbon or Omni Thread, someone posted magisk Modules for this
There should also be a guide in there for (regular) flashing this.

What ROM instead SuperMan ROM

Because the best for me was SuperMan ROM is End of Life I want change for ROM what have actualizations.
I Don't want ROM based on Lineage OS - I dont like this ROMs
I looking ROM based on stock ROM. I don't need much futures and configuration
I looking Rom what have bookmark/additional screen with UpDay app, where I can change top bar (side of the clock, what is in top bar etc.), fingerprint unlock after boot.
Is now ROM what can instead SuperMan ROM?
What ROM You recommend?

I've also used SuperMan-ROM, SuperMan-ROM was a rom with a lot customizations and tweaks that you could set to your own wishes. I don't think there is a rom available at this moment that provides the same customizations and tweakers that is not EOL.
At this moment I've installed LightRom. I've used it for 2 days now, runs great and haven't had any problems so far. I do miss some tweaks/customizations that were available on the SuperMan-ROM, but maybe that is just a matter of getting used to the new rom.
I've also tried LineageOS, but didn't liked it due to some bugs with calling in general and bluetooth music/calling.
The rom The Galaxy Project looks promising, but haven't had the change to try it out.
There are some more roms available but I didn't check them out yet, so I can not say anything about them. You can see a rom list for the Galaxy S7 here: Rom List

HI! Great post question, I am asking the same question. I WAS using Superman ROM and LOVED IT! but then EOL came out and security patches were OLD and scared me. My main use no with S7 is protecting it and prolonging its life span. So which ROM is best for:
1. De-bloated - enough of jam packing crap into a phone ppl dont need or want and not giving them a way to delete it for good!
2. Updated security patches
3. Maximum Performance
Is it possible to STILL use Superman ROM final edition and flash security patches?
Samsung has stopped the monthly security updates, so only quarterly security patches will be available. Also Samsung is not releasing Android 9 for the Galaxy S7.
For this, some developers are working on Note FE ports. The Note FE ported roms are based on Android 9 and do get their monthly security patches.
At this moment these Note FE ports are very populair: (keep in mind that there are more roms available and probably new ones will come)
NoteFE port - BlackDiamond
NoteFE port - LightRom
Always read the first post and see if you like the rom based of the description.
I think that LightRom is the most debloated rom. I've used LightRom before, it was a decent rom, but it felt like debloating meant replacing Samsung apps with Google apps. It was more battery efficient than the Samsung Stock ROM, but not by a alot.
I don't know which rom has more performance.
I'm going to try the BlackDiamond rom, it looks very promising. But in the end it is always personal preference, you should read the first post of a rom and see if you like it. If you do, you can test it and see if you really like it.
Superman ROM is End Of Life, so it doesn't get updated anymore. You can not flash security patches separately. If you want SupermanRom with the latest security patches, then you'll have to do all the merging/programming work yourself. Also one last thing, you ask for maximum performance, but Superman-ROM isn't maximum performance at all. It's only just a little debloated, basically removed some apps that can be downloaded from app store again. And it also has RomControl, which makes a rom customizable but slower and less battery efficient.

What most clear ROM for S7 Exynos?

Can anybody recommend some ROM?
I looking ROM with android Oreo or Pie but with out any Samsung brand. ROM should as close as possible to oryginal google ROM and will be not a lineageOS .
If ROM have any features - rom control where I can personalize some features (like led control, location of the clock, date control, ambient display, charging Information etc,) it will be great.
Can anyone help?

Question OnePlus Oxygen OS

So I've tried all the custom ROMS that are released in development thread. And I've come to the conclusion I like Oxygen OS over the AOSP ROMS. Aside from the development thread are there other custom ROMs that are heavily customizable? Currently the most customization I've found was Xtended Rom, but I'm thinking of going back to Oxygen and use substratum for some different colors.
Please brother , can u tell me after u tried all costum ROMS , wich is the best rom , because i am new in oneplus community
I personally liked Xtended Rom. But it's all personal preference. You have to just try them out. The ones with GApps already included are easier to install. The ones that need to have NikGApps or BitGApps installed seem to give me issues trying to get them installed properly.

If you're new to OnePlus community make sure you know what you're doing or you'll brick your phone. OnePlus is finicky
