Hello,
I flashed my Nexus 5 with KOT49H stock image from Google Nexus Android images. Then I wanted to add a flash a MPTCP Android image for nexus 5, so I build a image using the guide on the github account for the Android mptcp kernel for Nexus 5. The problem appeared at the last step when I tried to do $ fastboot flash boot newboot.img $ fastboot reboot
The output of the fastboot flash boot newboot.img seemed to be okay:
fastboot flash boot newboot.img sending 'boot' (7326 KB)... OKAY [ 0.340s] writing 'boot'... OKAY [ 0.656s] finished. total time: 0.996s
The phone does not boot anymore, it is stuck with the screen lighten by the back-light but that's all. It doesn't respond to any commands at all - it is not seen by the PC and pressing down on ShutDown+DownVolume doesn't help either. I can't get into fastboot either...
Do you guys have any idea on what I could do?
Thank you!

Hi guys !
I hope someone can help me
So, I have a Huawei mediapad X2 and I tried to install TWRP on it.
Huawei M2-801W
I unlock the bootloader by the way.
I tried with few adb version (15 seconds ADB Installer v1.4.3) and few TWRP version too.
I can install TWRP on bootloader mode :
C:\Users\Desktop\platform-tools_r28.0.0-windows\platform-tools>fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Sending 'recovery' (25422 KB) OKAY [ 0.836s]
Writing 'recovery' OKAY [ 0.423s]
Finished. Total time: 1.275s
But when I tried to boot on recovery mode, I have the Huawei logo and nothing happened.
someone knows how to fix this ?
Thanks !!
Which twrp are you using? What system are you currently on? If you're on lower than B112 (which you probably are) then you have to use an older version of twrp. This is the older version:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767151055
Also, next time post this in the TWRP thread where it belongs.
Sorry for the late answer,
i'm on B217 - EMUI 4.0.3 - Android 6
I tried your TWRP version but still can't boot in recovery mode
I Always have the Huawei boot screen
I also tried with thos TWRP version :
TWRP+3.2.1-0+Black+Light+Blue+X2
twrp-3.2.2-0-mozart
X2-TWRP-6.0-BLACK-DEEPBLUE
Thanks again
Hi Guys,
I am pretty good with IT, but a beginner in rooting... so thought following a guide would be good.
I have a Oneplus 6 which has original software, and I followed this guide:
https://oneplus.gadgethacks.com/how-to/root-your-oneplus-6-with-magisk-beginners-guide-0185541/
I used Command prompt as Administrator and the above happend after the below commands:
C:\ADB>fastboot devices
195ce6aa fastboot
C:\ADB>fastboot boot twrp-3.2.1-0-enchilada.img
Sending 'boot.img' (26748 KB) OKAY [ 0.577s]
Booting OKAY [ 0.082s]
Finished. Total time: 0.710s
Result: Step 1 went fine, but in step 2 regarding TWRP it failed after point 8 - the phone rebooted with: 1+ LOGO - Fastboot Mode - and then showed a black screen with "QUALCOMM CrashDump Mode" but no error details.

I then looked around and tried this:

Seems like TWRP and BLU SPARK does not work properly, but it could be me who are a complete novice... so hope some of you guys have some good advice please?`
Many thanks in advance!
By the way, no "QUALCOMM CrashDump Mode" error shown in BLU SPARK and also not TWRP newer than version twrp-3.2.1-0-enchilada.img - just a black fastboot mode booting screen.
What oos you're running by that time?....
And pls...use latest 109 blu spark twrp...wich is working with Android 10...feels like you are using wrong twrp with wrong android version...
Also 3.2.1 is verrrry old version...
Thank you James,
You are absolutely correct in version 10, because I am using the original OOS for Oneplus 6 which is currently version 10.3.1
I found the latest TWRP 3.3.1-x blu_spark v9.109 using this link: https://github.com/engstk/android_device_oneplus_enchilada/releases
1)
I noticed that there is only a ZIP file available, not any img files to boot on, so can you please advice how I can get this ZIP installed, direct flash or boot via an img?
2)
https://oneplus.gadgethacks.com/how-to/root-your-oneplus-6-with-magisk-beginners-guide-0185541/
According to the guide on the above link, then I read that it is recommended to use Magisk app to hide root status from Google's SafetyNet.
Sorry for the noob question, but does that mean that I can continue to follow the guide and to run on the newest original software ROM currently on my Oneplus 6... so is the bootloader, TWRP, Magisk app or does Magisk Framework ZIP in step 4 to 6 mean it is an actual ROM?
Many thanks in advance!
No that's only a magisk zip file which will give you just root....
---------- Post added at 05:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:15 PM ----------
So, blu spark don't provide img files anymore idk why...but you should try muronofrios latest twrp...it is + - the same twrp...
---------- Post added at 05:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:16 PM ----------
Here is the link to the mauronofrios twrp
I can't upload img file here idk why
Just download Q one 3.3.17
Not the installer(its the same zip)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-unofficial-twrp-touch-recovery-t3860815
Thank you James,
Besides that the download of the Q 3.3.1-17 img file got my security system to provide a warning of a malicious website with no valid certificate = qc5.androidfilehost.com - then I did get around that, and it worked perfectly with the mauronofrios twrp with both boot and installation!
Unfortunately I messed up afterwards, so I have created this new thread (but want to provide you with a "Thanks!" on this thread now, to keep things separated in 2 threads):

Thank you so much for your help!
Hey all, here's a list of steps i've done:
1. succesfully unlocked bootloader
2. downloaded the lateset 3.3.1.0 img and twrp zip (europe) from twrp.me.
3. entered fastboot and validated my oneplus listed under fasboot devices
4. opened powershell from img folder and ran: fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-0-guacamoleb.img
Then, it looked like the img was installed:
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 1.266s]
booting...
OKAY [ 0.129s]
finished. total time: 1.409s
however, i got stuck with fastboot logo in my OnePlus, and ater hard-reset i tried to enter twrp - but i got the default oneplus recovery instead.
never reached the step where i install the twrp zip.
can someone please help me understand what i got wrong?

Please follow this guide and use unofficial recovery https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...tloader-flash-twrp-root-t3954559/post80015800
Hey guys.
I'm having trouble to come forward booting my device with TWRP on my Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact (G8441) using a MacOSX.
Additional info to the phone:
version-baseband:1307-7511_47.2.A.11.228
version-bootloader:1306-5035_X_Boot_MSM8998_LA2.0_P_114
Steps I did:
Unlocking the bootloader (worked)
Flashing with TWRP from Androidfilehost (here) with:
Code:
./fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
I've used Android 9.0 twrp-3.3.1-0-lilac-pie-5.img as TWRP.img
It gives me:
Code:
./fastboot flash recovery TWRP.imgSending 'recovery' (34548 KB) OKAY [ 0.750s]
Writing 'recovery' OKAY [ 0.262s]
Finished. Total time: 1.016s
Booting with TWRP:
Code:
./fastboot boot TWRP.img
Sending 'boot.img' (34548 KB) OKAY [ 0.749s]
Booting OKAY [ 5.742s]
After step #3 the phone gets stuck on the Splash screen showing "SONY" (blue LED light on)
Rebooting into normal mode using Volume-Up + Power also gives me a similar outcome leaving the phone stuck on the "XPERIA" screen.
I've read somewhere in this forum that a possible solution could be to format the cache and user data which gives me:
Code:
./fastboot format cache
/Applications/Android/./mke2fs failed with status 1
fastboot: error: Cannot generate image for cache
And a similar one for user data.
Does anyone of you have a clue what I did wrong and what I need to do next to solve it? Every constructive comment is much appreciated.
Best
EDIT:
I could get it running and were able to install lineage-17.1-20201217-UNOFFICIAL-v1.7-lilac from here (androidfilehost.com - modpunk).
It was working to get into TWRP through unplugging the USB cable. Restarting the phone and directly after it restarts pressing volume up and plugging in the USB again.
Wondering why you try to boot into TWRP when it has already been successfully installed?
Code:
fastboot boot <TWRP.IMG>
is used if TWRP isn't already installed yet.
You should run
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot recovery
instead.
