If I am constantly seeing that there are configuration messages when I clear the memory or look at the activities in this one app I use called 3c all-in-one toolbox.
I think that someone has the e-sim slot in my phone activated and that they run chat-bots on it and somehow make money from it, see the pics attached. I don't ever send out messages as group messages, and there are things running that indicate a second number is being used.
I could just flash the phone but I'd really like to view what has been going on but I don't know where to begin. ANyone know what would let me see configuration messages and/or see second sim activity?

Hello! I've recently purchased my very first cell phone. It runs on Smartphone for Windows Mobile 5.0. I have a pretty good call plan, but I opted not to get a Text Messaging package. Since I did not buy the Text Messaging package, I know that I'm going to get charged an arm and a leg for every Text message that I send and receive, and I would like to minimize the cost if I can help it.
I notice that when I make Contacts for people I know, if they have a Mobile phone my OS automatically asks if I want to call them or send them a text message. The reason I write this post is to ask if there is a way to disable the operating system from even showing "Text Message" as one of the options presented to me. If I can't see it, then there is less of a change that I (or anyone using my phone) would have to even accidentally send a Text Message.
I'm not very knowledgeable about my phone yet, but if there is also a way for me to disable allowing other people to Text Message me... then that would also be a very good thing I would like to know.
If anyone has any solutions to this wish of mine, or possibly a pointer to set me off in the right direction on how to find more information on this, I would be highly grateful!

Hi all, A co-worker has the Droid 2 and is about to receive her 3rd one in the mail tomorrow. The problem is that text messages are randomly cut-off or garbled to SOME people. I cannot seem to find anything to help her. The issue is not related to the size of the message (i.e. SMS converting to MMS) as it has occurred with one word texts as well as larger messages. Her D2 is stock. The recipients with issues have older (1 or 2 year old VZW phones. Guessing they are dumb or feature phones, but not sure). Here is what we've tried:
Example of a 1 word text: So I sent a text that said “busy?” and it came through to the recipient as “bus”
1. Turn off auto-correct in settings
2. Auto-Signature in settings is not checked (thought that might auto convert to MMS)
3. Switch to Handcent from stock messaging app. Same problem
4. Delete the contacts having trouble and then soft re-set the phone. Then add the contacts back in.
5. Replaced phone; same problem new phone.
6. Remove apps and replace one by one. Thought she had some luck with a camera app, but no go. The issue recurred without the camera app on the phone (have told her to check the camera apps settings to see if there is anything that could be adding pics to text messages without her knowledge. That would turn the message into an MMS. Long shot but worth a look.)
I feel like somehow all of her text messages are being converted to MMS but I cannot find any setting that would be causing this to occur. Cannot think of anything else. Anyone have any ideas?
I would try doing a factory reset without installing ANY extra apps, and see if it still happens. If it works, then slowly start installing apps until it starts again and you've found the issue. If it doesnt fix it at all, then I'd SBF and try as above. If still doesnt work then it's likely an issue with your carrier or maybe their carrier. (Person getting them)
I use my device for work. I coordinate/schedule jobs in which there are many people who can work certain slots. So, I'll send out one text message to about 75-84 individuals. Then the ones who can work reply. Later, I send out another mass SMS advising of remaining slots to be filled.
My issue is this. In the Android code a section checks for the number of text messages send within the last hour. If you exceed 100 messages - then, Android throws an error for every message afterwards within that hour and the user has to select "OK" to send an SMS. So, at times I have to sit there and select "OK" over and over again for several minutes while the over limit SMS's are sent....
I found an old record on how to fix this issue here.
However, this APPEARS to be an old solution. I was unable to find this setting or the table "gservices" in "/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
Does anyone know where this was moved or how to change this setting?
My device is a an LTE Galaxy Nexus.
I'm running AOKP-build 33. But, I would think this setting would be generic to all of the current ICS ROMs.
Thanks for any advice.
BTW - I found some very old posts related to this same issue. Note:
1) Using an app will not address this issue (I use Chomp SMS) as this is coded within Android.
2) Google Voice will not work as it doesn't recognize "groups" for the "to" box.
3) Pulling the battery will just prevent all the texts from going out.
I'm just hoping someone knows where the file/code is located that I need to modify.
All other suggestions will not resolve this issue.
Hey guys. This is by far the least technical issue I've had to look for assistance with so bear with me. I've recently noticed that with my galaxy s6 (and possibly my old s4 but it was rooted and modded so I never really checked) when I go to an individual contact in my contacts list it not only shows their picture and info but also a complete text message history for that person. In the name of privacy for privacy's sake I don't really like there being any number of places outside my texting app where my text messages are also visible. I have not found any settings that allow me to prevent this from happening and I'm wondering if any of you can help.
Thanks.

Good call. Just noticed that, thanks. Not an issue for me, but I can see how it may be to others.
Yep. It bothers me that it exists there and I'd have not known except that I realized I had a few contacts with 3-4 old numbers attached to them. I see no reason why my contacts needs to be accessing the content of my texting app. Hoping someone can figure something out here. I did notice that if I delete the messages in my text app they also delete from that contact's history as well but I should not have to delete texts just to prevent my contact list from accessing them. This needs to be fixable or at least something you can toggle.

I don't use sms messages. The only one I saw that had messages listed in their listing was my mother-in-law who is one of the few people I text to. I use hangouts for most everyone else but don't text that often..
Thank you for pointing this out. Hope there is a fix.

In call settings there is an option to enable or disable "Show Caller Information", which is supposed to be the communication history. I tried disabling it to see if it would stop showing texts in the contact list, but it did not. It may prevent future messages from showing, but I won't know until I get another text.
Have a Nokia 8.1, which was recently upgraded to Android 10 Q.
Have been noticing that the phone sends SMS or at least shows the SMS sending notification on screen.
But there is no sent message in the SMS app. Need help to remove any possible malware from the phone.
Have not installed any dodgy apps or given permissions to apps (for sending sms), so am not sure why the phone is behaving like this.

Would appreciate any help provided.
Apologies if this isn't the right place to post this.

When is this happening?
Is this after you buy (or an automatic subscription renewal?) something from Google play store but pay via your carrier? Normally this "DCB-ASSOCIATION" authentication takes place in the background, which might be what you are seeing.
(Some msg apps like Signal do seem to show these msgs)
In this post it's showing... though yours are not showing, possibly just the pop up?

However it could be a sign an app is sending in background that you are unaware off, maybe you can see it on your phone bill. ( Android 10 does allow you to block other apps from sending send sms messages, so only default messaging apps can, you can turn this on in developer settings ... though you should find the source of sms. {Maybe an antivirus will show spyware your loved one has installed on your phone which is sending them your location, aww how sweet} One other possibility is carrier provisioning which sends an sms to set up your network settings, but as far as I know you should get a pop up to do this & I'm not aware if phone sends a confirmation back to your carrier)
