Hi, sorry for the confusing title.
I have a P40 Pro on EMUI 11
Everything was fine untill I updated Google Play Services in order to use Chromecast on YouTube.
After that I started having problems with Google Play protect.
I've followed a couple of guides on YouTube.
Nothing were working for me
After various try I uninstalled gms using Googlefier and then I used guides and files from ictfix to try to have gms on my phone working again.
Now, everything seems fine. Actually better than before as in also receiving notifications from Gmail.
But I noticed I missed some files related to gms (like android sidecar) that I've installed manually.
But I don't receive any WhatsApp message anymore!
Biggest issue ever
Can somebody help me? I'm trying to avoid to go from the backup and downgrade process again
Thank you in advance
Good, try disabling with ADB, these applications
com.huawei.powergenie
com.huawei.android.hwaps
I had the same problem with WhatsApp, it was always killed in running services (dev mod options) after 10 minutes then no more notifications (call & messages) until next manual opening.
I'm on EMUI 12.0.0.236 with latest GMS and GSF (disabled) ⇾ I used this "airplane mode + clear cache/data + force stop+ restart" method :
After restarting, connect it to a PC with adb, then disable "Google Framework Services", enter in shell ⇾
Bash:
pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.gsf
You can disable airplane mode, everything but the playstore will work (of course also "Google Pay" will not work & on some apps you'll have a message about "Google's location service" activation for a better experience).
For WhatsApp, I was thinking about app launch or battery optimization, or even powergenie, but the issue is not related to them, because now all is working fine and these battery saving options are enabled.
If your WhatsApp is connected to a Google account, save your data to Google Drive (would be useful if you need them on other phone or if you need to restart the process, and you lost your local data).
Then WhatsApp settings > chat backup > Backup to Google Drive : Never

Backup button to update the local backup
Now you can save your WhatsApp folder or rename it to "WhatsApp.old"
Uninstall WhatsApp (clear data if it asks you)
Enable "Developer Options" and "USB Debuging"
Connect your phone to a PC with adb then enter in shell ⇾
Bash:
pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.gms
settings > apps > "Google Play Services" : force stop & clear cache
Restore or rename your WhatsApp folder like it was
Install WhatsApp (or get it from Aurora store : not tested) ⇾ https://www.whatsapp.com/android/
Connect to your WhatsApp account > restore the backup from local storage, skip the Google Drive part
Now if you go to running services WhatsApp will not be killed after 10 minutes
You can go in settings > apps > "Google Play Services" : enable
Do not select a Google account in WhatsApp
In running services WhatsApp will be killed after 10 minutes but now even if it's shutdown you will receive call and messages.
Battery configuration and still working :

I've had a problem with Google play services before, but never to this caliber. This isn't the phone, but on my primary S7 whenever connected to WiFi or using data I'll get the occasional "Unfortunately, Google play services has stopped" popup. But the thing is, it keeps popping up. Again, again, and again, and it's definitely getting to be a problem. I'll also get an notification saying something along the lines of a Google related app not being able to update or it's not working properly, even when going to the Play store to check updates, it's not there. And even sometimes when trying to open something like Gmail, I get this: "Gmail is having trouble with Google Play Store, if the problem persists, please contact the developer for assistance." Not sure how the heck this all started in the first place.

Tried both, didn't work. I can't even disable or force stop Google play services, and Google Services Framework isn't even its on thing for me, it's under the Google play services, and data usage. Now apparently I messed it up even more possibly cause some actual apps are popping up with a similar message.
When I had my android phone unfortunately google play services has stopped several times before I found a simple solution to it. I downloaded hotspot shield on my mobile and whenever I turned it on, it was always a success.
Since a month or so Play Store takes literally hours to download or update apps. This happens on wifi and mobile data, no other app has connection issues, Play Store works fine on my old Samsung and OnePlus phones. I tried restarting my phone to no avail, power and data saving modes are turned off.
Any one got an idea what's causing this?
If they fail with error 92x then you can try clearing the cache and data of playstore and Google framework. Uninstalling the updates for these will do the same. This may not work, but it might.
There may be an issue with the account. Wipe the account from your device and re-add it. This is more than likely going to work.
Failing that it will be a full factory reset and you will need to make plans for backups to reinstate your data. This will definitely work.

I had tried clearing cache and data before, doesn't work.
Now I tried wiping the account from my device, but I'm not sure I'm doing it right. I go to setting -> accounts & sync tap on my Google account then tap remove account. Although that logged me out on all Google apps, my device somehow still remembers my Google account's email address which I don't use for anything else as you can see in the screenshots.

Yes it does, cause the device gets bound to the Gmail account registered at first boot. It's something like Apple binding a device to the iCloud account first registered with it.
To remove it fully, you have to login to your Google account from a PC, and navigate to the account overview page. There you can got to
Device Activities & Security Events > Last Used Devices > Check Devices
and disconnect the device from your Google account. Once that's done, and you rebooted, the Google account should be gone.

Facebook services, is pre-installed. Just go into Settings> Apps & notifications > See All apps > (top right side hit 3 dots > show system) Click and disable (can't uninstall unfortunately) all facebook apps you see. I had three already in place, "Facebook app installer" "Facebook App manager" & " Facebook Services"
Oh and you can probably remove over ADB, I haven't yet but probably will attempt in the future.

I'm pretty sure none of these apps are needed to run the Facebook app, but I do not use Facebook so I'm not sure. I am pretty sure though, that regardless if these are uninstalled/disabled when installing the official Facebook app, it will do the same thing as those apps and monitor stuff on your phone. I highly recommend if you want Facebook either go through a browser or look through the XDA apps & games section and there a few custom facebook apps that sandbox it and don't allow it to collect data from the phone.
This newer thread (below) shows how to REMOVE all of the facebook apps:

>>I have a problem with my contacts app. It doesn't even show my google account and I can't sync contacts. Does anyone else have this problem on chinese rom and does anyone know how to fix it?<<
SOLVED
So, while I got my phone with preinstalled google services, I wasn't aware that not all of them have been preloaded. If anyone else runs into this problem here's a list of google apps and services you have to install:
Google Play Services
Google Play Store
Google Services Framework
Google Account Management
Google Contacts Sync Service
Google Calendar Sync Service
Setup Wizard APK
They're all available on sites like apk mirror and such.
Not really sure what's going on... But if I have to guess a fix,
1. Try updating your GMS services
2. Very important: turn in developer mode, and turn off MiUI optimization in the developer settings.
3. Go to contact app in app manager and give it all the permissions, including autostart and no restrictions on battery.
4. Finally go to settings of contacts and check if your correct email id is selected. (If you have multiple g id logged in)
5. Also try going to Accounts in settings and check if sync is turned on and manually sync it.
6. Reboot and check.
Let me know if it helped.
I updated GMS. MIUI optimization is off. There's no permission settings for contacts app since it's system app. In contact settings I can't see my google account (that's what I was complaining about. And in accounts under google I don't have contacts to sync. Only calendar, docs, drive, gmail etc, no contacts.

Oh Wait never mind, I already have Google Play Services set up, they just weren't working.
What I did to fix it was to remove all accounts and Wipe Cache in TWRP before re-adding the accounts back.

MIUI 12 - Mi 11 Ultra
I've got a Unihertz Jelly 2 with T-Mobile service. It's running Android 11. First thing I did when getting it, about two weeks ago, was disable a bunch of Google-ish apps because I'd mostly like Google out of my life. I know from past experience that I can't disable them all because, eg, play store is too useful for me to do without. I'm afraid I may have caused this issue I'm seeing because of my disable frenzy and I'm hoping someone can help me understand what's gone wrong.
Every couple of days I get these messages from number 2903: "We see your phone does have correct settings to access the internet or send MMS. Settings will be sent to your handset."

They are accompanied by notifications from Omacp app:
In Omacp I see requests to install things. When I click the button to do the full install I get a report that the APN installed fine but the "browser" failed:
Afterwards it tells me the browser is "unsupported":
What "browser" is it talking about? I thought it might have been Chrome, which was one of the apps I disabled, but re-enabling Chrome did not resolve this.
Still disabled on my phone: Assistant, Calculator, Calendar, Drive, Duo, Files by Google, Google TV, Keep Notes, Photos, Youtube, Youtube Music.
Not disabled (because I thought it would break stuff, I coudn't, or the warning messages too dire): Android Accessibility Suite, Android Auto, Android System Webview, Carrier Services, Game Mode, Gboard, Gmail, Google, Google Play Store, Maps, Messages, Phone, Settings, Sim Toolkit.
When I get the messages from 2903 for omacp, I need to do the install or MMS messaging does not work. This sort of feels like it should be happening automatically in the background.
I have the same issue. Any resolution on this?
What browser
@neccowafer
Delete Omacp: it's a virus!
The virus may perform the following malware-related activities without your permission:
Periodically scan the phone.
Obtain the phone's contacts.
Complete control of the SMS solution.
Complete control over the phone calls phone.
Changing the malicious web server from which virus files are downloaded.
Creating a lock screen on your device and displaying a third-party website.
Running scripts that collect password and username information for various purposes.
Turning off and/or restarting your device.
This is why removing the OMACP virus from your Android is highly advisable.
