I am facing serious issues with the Google dialer as I am unable to replace the pre-installed Google dialer in any of my vivo phones.
Already tried instaling old vivo dialer and setting it as default dialer app.
Also installed phone management apk and contact and phone storage apk.
But none of these worked.
Whenever I dial with vivo dialer the calls goes through the Google dialer
Tried disabling the Google dialer but them I don't see any call screen while calling (outgoing and incoming).
Please help me if anyone can.

Hi All,
I installed Skype on my Sensation 4G (Android Rev HD ROM). Everything work great except the dialer. I cannot get Skype to integrate with the phone dialer. When I dial a number, the phone does not give me the option to choose the cell line or Skype. It automatically use the cell line. I did the same on my Motorola Triumph (Froyo) and it does give me the options to choose.
I go into "Settings-->Apps" and select the "Dialer" app but the "Clear Defaults" option is disabled. The "Phone" app also has the "Clear defaults" option disabled.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I really hate the Skype dialer and would like to use the stock dialer.

You have to use the Skype Dialer to call people in your skype contacts. There's no way around it.

I am not using Skype contacts at all.
I only use phone's contacts or I dial the number directly into phone dialer. I want to be able to choose Skype or cell line when I call a number (just like Google voice app and other voip apps out there).
With the recent release of the Hangouts Dialer, I finally decided to go all in with Google Voice for all my calls/texts.
I was successfully able to update my phone's settings so that any calls/texts coming in to my Google Voice number go into the new Hangouts Dialer app. However, if someone calls my regular T-Mobile number, the stock dialer is still used to receive the call. My question is, has anyone figured out how to use the Hangouts Dialer with their carrier phone number? And if you have figured this out, is it as simple as disabling the stock dialer to ensure it never intercepts any calls?
Removing the stock dialler will prevent the phone booting. I'm not sure at what point in the boot process package manager "freezes" apps but I would suggest disabling the dialer is a really bad idea.
As for the rest of your question, not sure.

Thanks for the heads up. After digging around, it looks like my best current solution is just to make sure everyone I stay in contact with uses my GV number instead. Any calls/texts coming in through my T-Mobile number will just continue to go through the stock dialer.

when I 1st installed the hangouts dialer I wanted the same, & wonder why the hangouts dialer code simply couldn't be baked into the native one (maybe in L?)

even with gv, carrier number integration, why we (on sprint) get the double ringing on incoming calls, unless the sprint sim is removed, or cellular data is turned off..
look at what *com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel* is tied to..

Google assistant won't stay set as default, even when all breeno system apps have been removed.
Got the phone yesterday and still setting everything up but under assistant options the option to access with voice match is greyed out - is that what you mean? The Google assistant app works fine.
Other issue is I am unable to use a different app for SMS but this seems to be an oppo constraint?
Other than that great phone!

I have the same issue with SMS!!, one question do you get group message!? I left a new thread under Q&A. However if you have, have you done anything with settings ?!. I use Whatsapp to text some of my friends that have the app and works great. However no everybody uses that app.

It looks like I receive group messages as a MMS just from the sender. I do not see the other recipients and therefore cannot respond to the group. Is that your experience?

I am experiencing the same issues. Voice match unable to toggle on.
Not sure if Oppo will allow a third-party sms app unfortunately, or they've made it fairly difficult to say the least :/
anyone have solution with voice match... i wonder is there anything to do with permission... it seem a lot of permission for application are disable by default and we need to spend some time to get it enable

I face the same thing. I have to keep enabling assistant every hour which sucks.
Same for me... ?
When making a call through Google Assistant, I am now asked whether to use Dialer, Duo or WhatsApp.
This has just started over the last week or two.
I have had Duo and WhatsApp apps on my phone for years, but Google Assistant has never before offered them as a dialing option.
I want to set Google Assistant back to only using dialer for phone calls.
How do I accomplish this?
