Problems with usb mass storage on windows 7

Usb mass storage is not working in windows 7. When I connect to my laptop it recognizes the drive right away... But if I connect to my windows 7 desktop the drive shows as letter E but no files are accessible. Any ideas???
Bump... btw my laptop is running vista with no problems at all...
I'm having similar problems. Works fine on my Windows 7 laptop, only shows up in Devices on my desktop. Both have farily new Windows 7 setups.
Stock memory cards? I tried using one from my old HD2s and they wouldn't work. They work with the HD2 fine, but not with any other connection to W7. My stock 8gb card works fine with no problems. Also, have you guys formatted the cards? If so, how did you format them? With a tool like the panasonic one? I think that's how my 16gb got damaged (panasonic tool).
I have the same problem with my Thunderbolt, but I have not had the problem with the Sensation.
I installed HTC Sync software & it installed HTC drivers and have no problems on Windows 7

Will not transfer files properly to PC/USB Drive

I am having an issue transferring files from my phone to a USB flash drive that is connected to the computer.
It works fine for anywhere between 10-100 songs. Usually around 40 or 50 songs. All of a sudden it will stop and I get the awesome error "a device attached to the system is not functioning". At this point the only thing I can do is restart my phone, and then the process keeps repeating.
I have tried this with USB debugging on and off. I am doing this on my work computer that has Windows 7.
Any ideas on what I can do here? Thanks everyone!!
EDIT: The USB flash drive is a brand new 64gb Sandisk if that matters - doubt it since it seems like the issue is on the phone end

what is the issue with samsung phones and usb transfer?

i tried to transfer some images from phone and sd card to PC and it was a major nightmare like always with every samsung galaxy series i owned
is there some kind of retarded issue with these phones and why they never seem to get the usb transfers to work flawlessly?
it crashed my explorer windows about 10 times before very slowly i managed to transfer files in smaller chunks
it was calculating how much time it will take to transfer images. wtf i havent seen that since like windows 98.
i had to unplug my phone few times and close the explorer windows and start over because it was just freezing all the time
how do i fix this crap this shouldnt be happening in 2018 and with 800 dollar phone
MTP, baby.
Every modern android phone has an awful transfer experience. I'm now copying a 9GB backup and it's taking forever. I have to use the rear USB ports because without it I get a "Device is busy or disconnected" message.
As for a 'fix': use an official cable. Don't use front I/O if you have a desktop PC. piss about with different cables and ports until it works. Only transfer files in chunks.
Hi if possible try and transfer all or half your files to your sd card and then remove sd and insert it into the pc for better speeds. I've only ever transferred a few files from phone to pc, but I know that when I transfer multiple photos and or a rom or two at about 2 gigs a piece from internal to sd card it works fast. All i use is a sandisk 32gb extreme sd, not to special. I agree the mtp should not be slow in this day and age, i remember uploading a ton of photos to google photos with good internet and it got so slow I gave up so I defenitely feel your pain!
is there any fix for that? if i root the phone?
i did use original cable but front usb port. will try the rear port thank you
its kinda pain in the ass to take out the sd card and take off the case and look for a paper clip every time
this is really retarded to be having this issue in 2018 i think

looking for the USB drivers for an alcatel 7 model 6062W

I am trying to find the right USB cable software drivers for my cell phone. I have been looking everywhere. I have come close but no Cigar.
All I know is the phone is an Alcatel 7 model 6062W, that's what it says in the phone and on the box that the phone came in. I am trying to find the Win 10 USB drivers to beable to copy pictures and files from the phone to my Windows 10 laptop. And upload APP's from my laptop to the phone. I like keeping a copy of all the games and APP's on my external HDD in the USB case. Right now the only way to to move pictures and files from the phone is to put the pictures and files on the on the SD card. Then pull the SD card from the phone and stick the SD card in the laptop's card reader.
If you can't find the right USB cable software drivers for the cell phone model, try to install a general usb driver for Android phone distributed by Google instead.

Unable to transfer Pictures with Win 7

***EDIT*** Disregard. It was the type of Port - USB (2.0?) on both machines even though I was using different cables.
Can't copy off the photos with Win7, green bar scrolling and just hangs.
Tried two workstations.
We used this phone in October at a wedding to take photos without it being on a carrier. OS 8.x
Was able to connect and transfer files then.
Wife's phone crapped out while we were there so I just activated the Pixel then.
And of course it updated to Pie.
Now however after update to 9.0 when it is connected to Win7 it just goes braindead when trying to transfer pictures.
Now if I connect it to my laptop running Mint 18 I can copy off photos just fine.
I deleted the entire DCIM sub-directory structure under Linux and took a handfull of photos and then tried again on Win 7 and again it just hangs.
Anyone by chance have a solution?
Thanks, _Dan
