hi guys
htc singapore tells me the GSM 7 pro is for the UK only and they're not gonna bring it in, which leaves me the option of importing one
i'm looking at clove and not expansys cos it's so damn expensive on their site
my questions..
1. is clove reliable?
2. are there any other reliable sites that ships to singapore?
3. can the 7 pro be chevron-ed?
4. it supports gsm 900/1800/2100 in the uk. singapore uses the same bands. does it mean it'll work too?
sorry for dumb questions. this is the first time i'm buying a phone from outside of my own country
thanks
Hello,
I just thought that I would let you know that the 7 Pro is available not only in the UK, but also in Germany (through O2) and Luxembourg (through LuxGSM).
I have one these devices, and I can honestly say that the phone is great.
I purchased my one without contract when it first came out, and it cost the same as what Expansys are asking.
I don't think that you will in fact find it much cheaper (not as a new phone at least).
Good luck!!
P.S. Yes, it will work in Singapore so long as the phone that you get is not simlocked.
clove is cheaper than expansys is
i'm just wondering if clove is as reliable as expansys is
are there any other reliable online retailers that would ship to singapore?
I will tell you, of all WP7 devices the 7 pro and the surround are in a tie for the worst.
i've heard
but the dvp is also in a bad state with hangs and stuff
if the 7 pro is really that bad, then i'm really stuck between a rock and a hard place given that
1. i need a keyboard. big, fat fingers hate touchscreen keyboards
2. there are only 2 choices, 7pro and dvp. lg quantum is not sold here in singapore, neither would i want it cos it looks....bad
3. the dvp. just go to it's sub-forum to see the complaints. getting better, but i would rather not deal with a troublesome phone which dell singapore says they have no idea when they're bringing in, if they would even bring it
4. my touch pro is on life support. it was showing me funky screens yesterday, with delayed sms messages of up to 12 hours (timestamp is correct, it's just when it actually appears on my phone) and some keys on my keyboard is actually alternating between registering multiple presses and not registering anything at all

My suggestion is get the 8 gig dell venue pro. There are no issues with the 8 gig, the issues are all due to the poor memory cards used in the 16 gigs. I recommend picking up an 8 gig and upgrading it to a 32 gig. It's an easy process and leads to easily the best of all WP7 devices.

i actually emailed htc and dell on warranty issues
htc singapore is willing to take it in for a fee, dell singapore just said NO
i'll wait till next week to place an order. meanwhile, i'll just try asking dell singapore again
i'm keen on the dvp too, just so u know. i'm only getting the 7 pro out of desperation
Thanks for the suggestion anyway, will keep it in mind before making my purchase

I understand, it's well worth it and it is without a doubt the best looking phone out there today. The 16 gigs are the only ones with issues... major screw up on dells part but they've been reasonable about it. If you want the WP7 phone that works best the DVP is it
I can confirm Clove are 100% reliable, got mine sent from them.
I do however, live in the UK but i'm sure you will be fine

Hi everyone, i've the opportunity to get a 1 month old Note 3 for my three years old IPhone 4 32GB plus my 4 month old Nexus 7 (2013) 32GB wifi.
The Note 3 is good as new, his owner didn't like it cause it's too big for his needs and asked me if i want to trade my small phone plus tablet for his phablet.
My iPhone is still a great phone. It's comfortable in the pocket thanks to his size, the battery still gets me to the end of the day, has the best store for apps and with the jailbreak i can tweak it as i want. The nexus 7 is amazing and has a great community support on xda.
So i'm struggling, i really like the Note 3 and i'm intrigued by the S-Pen for productivity. On the other hand i'm so used to my actual configuration and i have no issue with anything i do.
So what do you guys think? Go for the chance or stay with the old? Is the Note 3 rally worth it?
Thanks
Is it the Snapdragon version or the Exynos version?
I think you should go for the deal. iPhone 4 is old and I tried one which was running iOS 7 and it was terrible and extremely laggy!
Nexus 7 on the other hand is not so pricey so trading it for a costly Note 3 seems to be a good deal.
Note 3 is worth the trade IMO.

if you are a die hard apple fan only then you keep old iphone 4 and leave note 3 which kills iphone 4 in every respect
go for the deal you wont regret it...and if if you wish try note 3 in any store first bcoz its really BIGGG compared to toyish iphone

That's not how you should estimate things - you should look in 2-3 places on the going rate of each of your devices vs. the rate of a pre-owned Note 3.
Looking for 1 minute on swappa (which might not be relevant at all for you own region) shows around 235$ for iphone 32gb unlocked and around 200$ for Nexus 7 wifi vs over 500$ for a REAL 32GB Note 3. Also you should consider if the Note 3 is available at a highly discounted price from your carrier.
But word of advice on the Note 3 - if you do not have experience on that you will NOT be able to tell "at the first sight' that a high-end fake is not the real thing, so extra care with unknown sellers and offers that are too good to be true!

Just bought the U11 a few days ago and the phone has been great. But, ever since I saw the debut of the Note 8, I'm really liking the phone. I still have the 30 day return option so I can possible get the Note 8 but I don't know which phone to pick. Main goal is to have a phone that will last at least more than 18 months. Which would you recommend overall?

It boil down to your priorities. What features you like, size of the phone, which processor (for non US), headphone jack etc. So my recommendation would be to make a pros and cons list and decide.
Personally i won't go with any Samsung phones.

Go with the Nite, just because you're intending to skip next year's phones.
If HTC grow with the 11 (it's a fabulous phone!) And get a handle on the hardware design (its too thick, the bezels top and bottom are to wide....) Then next year's release is going to be excellent
Or pixel xl 2?
If you have a 30 day return, why not use it... Swap it for the note 8, test it for a month, if no good, swap it back for the U11 or by that stage, look at the Pixel2 etc.
Personally I wouldn't go with samsung phone. I am glad I got rid of my note 3 and probably not going back to samsung anytime soon...
first of all you are on the u11 forum which is wrong
secondly for an honest advice I would go for the 6gb u11 not the 4gb
if you can't get the 6gb u11 then get the note
I would keep it untill Pixel XL 2 comes out...Note8 is too big
I'm really on the fence about ordering a OnePlus 7 Pro. I have a 512gb Note9 with an encrypted bootloader now and I'm bored out of my freaking mind.
I've been watching Swappa closely, just to see what is trending. I actually started watching Swappa for a deal on a Pixel 3XL and kinda ended up in the OnePlus 7 Pro section too. If I order a Oneplus 7 Pro I will get it direct from OnePlus just for warranty peace of mind.
But I see a disturbing trend of all the OnePlus 7 Pro's going up for sale rather quickly. Pretty common to see "only used for 2 days" or even "used once or twice" and then boxed back up promptly for resale..... WHY?
Why is everybody using this device once or twice and then immediately trying to sell if off? Got me pretty concerned about making a $782.19 purchase. It was a lot easier to stomach when a OnePlus was only $500.
Why don't you ask them? There could be many reasons. I'm very happy with mine, I would have no idea why someone else isn't.
I guess the best you can do is watch some YouTube reviews, read about common issues and concerns,I don't use swappa but maybe you could message a seller there and ask,
Id imagine people just find the phone too big, don't like the curved display, most likely something to do with the design I'd say.

I try not to spam their listing with questions when I have no intention of actually purchasing the item. I also couldn't expect them to answer candidly on the same page they are tying to recoup $700 on.
Whenever possible I follow their XDA names/links and send a PM asking. No responses so far. I did see one guy state he was selling because he was just to "entrenched in the Apple Ecosystem" but if he was going to keep an Android the OnePlus 7 Pro is "the phone to have". Then an hour later he purchased a Pixel 3XL in another listing I was also watching. :silly:
Pretty stupid on their part. They just return the phone in the first 14 days and not lose $250 from the resale cost. I have patience for stupidity.

I've been watching YouTube videos and reviews and unboxings and scouring the internet pretty much nonstop since the release. I'm not worried about ghost touches as I never use NFC. Size, weight and curved edges are all the bees knees to me. I'm an HTC Max user from way back and always buy the biggest screen available in any line.
The only real deal breaker problem I could see is if the camera produced literally unusable pictures. I take LOTS of pictures daily. They don't have to be better than the Samsung's or the Pixels (I've had both). But they do need to be worth keeping. I'm afraid the only way I will be able to answer that question is to see for myself in person ie order one.
I will say I am pretty picky about the color though. I don't really care for the Nebula Blue much but I REALLY want that 12GB ram...

Due to the number of people who have tried unlocks, etc and had issues I would be, at least, looking for photos or video of the device working before you stump over the cash but yeah, it's a great phone so watch some reviews and if you like what you see, go for it
The 12gb ram model was the one OnePlus sent out as review units/influencers/promoters. They could just be u loading. Also people buy phones without checking compatibility, maybe not for their carrier. If not on T-Mobile there's always some issue, i.e. Sprint not working at all, att not WiFi calling, Verizon cdma_less issues. Could be any number of issues but don't let that worry you. Same thing happens with every phone that is released. I personally sold my s10e after 3 days just because, there was no "I need to keep tilhis phone" feeling. My op7 pro gives me that feeling , it's one of the best phones I've ever used, and I replaced my pixel 3 xl with it.

None at all. Pixel 3xl performance is garbage. Hiccups, stuttering was terribly annoying. Only good things were camera and software day 1. I'm like those swappa sellers you're skeptical about, I change my phone monthly sometimes. In 4 years I've made 90 sales, 60 were my personal use device. The longest I've kept a phone was OnePlus 6 for 6 months. Ill never fo back to iOS, and in Android world OnePlus is my favorite. I don't use camera just for pics of the kids. I NEVER take selfies.
I ended up with the 8gb blue direct from oneplus. I wanted the 12gb but it was 14 days until shipping and couldn't wait. I got the T-Mobile gray on lau ch day but hated the software/sim lock/ single sim, but the 12gb would have gotten here after my return period was up with T-Mobile. Still no regrets, I don't think it would have bee. Any big change in performance. I'm still surprised to how many apps are still where I left them even several hours later.

Just do it. My sequence was Pixel 3XL > S10+> OnePlus 7 pro
I just gave one UI other chance as you see, but stock Android and OOS(near stock) are way better, especially together with a hardware top of the line (OnePlus 7pro).

I completely agree about the Pixel 3 XL performance, complete garbage. At the time I had the Pixel 3 XL, T-Mobile OnePlus 6t, and unlocked OnePlus 6t from OnePlus. I sold the Pixel. The only thing that phone has going for it was the camera, and like you said day one software updates, but the performance is horrible on that phone.

They only do that in the US... frustrating yeah but 15% of the most expensive phone at $750 is just $112 so I still ask, why sell it on swappa and take a $200 hit? I think you said he was selling for $500? Doesn't make much sense to me, he'd still get more money back just returning it.

Your going to have to cover either phone. They are WAY too slippery to really use naked. I used to use my phones naked (I've never dropped a phone) but I don't trust these phones sine teh OP5 and OP6 and not OP 7Pro.
I've always had black or grey phones but the blue is amazing. I agree it is so slippery being olephobic gorilla glass. I hate to cover it. It like a minimal perimeter case.
Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
I got the blue one
Why not use the included case? It's a perfect fit and doesn't cover up the beautiful back or the light around the edge. I've always put a case on my phones and have never cracked or broken a phone in any way. This bad boy is slippery and I have no problem or issue using the clear case!!

I got the blue one from T-mobile, I always get blue if it's available for the phone I am interested in since it's my favorite color. I too sometimes switch phones monthly which I have the option of doing if I want since I am a Jump On Demand customer with T-Mobile and have that option. Longest I have kept a phone in the last year is almost 2.5 months.
I switched from the Note 9. 90hz screen made it a keeper for me. Camera is not bad as some ppl make it seem but of course the Note 9 camera is better. Haptic feedback is also better but still not on the same level like on the iPhone and Pixel yet. I've also bought the Nillkin Type C Wireless Charging USB C Receiver for wireless charging and Elevation Lab USB-C CordDock as a secondary even though honestly I really didn't need to purchase that as the wireless reciever works. Battery is the same as on the Note 9. The only thing I miss is one handed mode. Stock android and or Oxygen OS should really develop a one handed mode since these phones are getting larger each year.
So backstory, I found a really good deal on Facebook Marketplace for a OnePlus 8T (US Version unlocked from Amazon) for $370. It's in excellent condition, is paid off, and seems to be the unlocked KB2005 model.
Since the phone is basically half off at that price, I'm super tempted by it. However, the other part of me almost wants to wait for the inevitable OnePlus 9/9 Pro announcements in March and maybe get that one of those on launch. I also had the idea of selling my current phone or the 8T if I'm impressed by either model. That's where I thought I'd come to XDA to ask for advice on what I should do, or if anyone has other ideas!
I currently own a 6T that I got on launch in 2018 and I absolutely love it. It still works well, but being a big tech enthusiast is making me start to get an itch to upgrade soon (especially since my dad just got a Galaxy S21 and was really impressed just helping him set it up).
Thanks all!
I also was on the fence with ditching my 6T for this one, but it's quite an upgrade in almost every way. Once you experience how fluid the screen refresh is, there is no going back. I scored mine on a trade-in promo. Wouldn't pay full retail for it, tho. Seems like a really good deal at that price point. 9 series is going to be very expensive at first, so factor that in. If anything, grab 8T and see if t-mobile is going to be running trade-in promos on them (9 series). You can always sell it on swappa for more if you don't like it.

You bring up a good point there regarding trade in deals. I'd also imagine that T-Mobile is bound to have a deal for the 9 Series. I got my 6T on their original trade in deal in 2018 where you could trade the OG OnePlus One and get $300 off the 6T. It was a no brainer, since I essentially got full value for a 4 year old phone.
Do you recommend oneplus 8t or is better wait?
Hi there, unfortunately my actual phone stoped working and I came back for my backup phone.
So I'm looking for a new phone and in this moment we can find Oneplus 8t for around $500.
Do you think that is a good deal? Or is better wait for a possible oneplus 9 lite with SD 870?
After watch and read many reviews, I did a list with the principal points. Can you tell me if the list match with your real usage?
here are the good things that I observed:
+Screen
+Battery
+Fast Charger 65w
+Dual speaker
+Oxygen Os
In other side:
- Others chargers doesn't look work well
