Hi, i own S95 Doogee phone. After installing GSI custom rom (i tried Havoc, Lineage,Pixel exp) screen keep on flickering. In programes options i can turn GPU drawing as allways on and flickering stops. Problem is that at every restart and randomly this seting turns it self off . Any solution to get it working as it should ?
P.S. Flickering +discoloration occurs when something is being rendered on the screen.
OK, I figured it out,
Phh Treble Settings -> Misc features -> Display -> Disable HW Overlay

Hey Everyone.
I have had this issue for about 5 days now, I started out on CM 12.1 when I started to notice random black screens which required a reboot. Prior to this it has been fine for a few months.
Since then, I have tried a new ROM each day, CM 13, SLIM, RR and Mokee.
All seem to start out fine, restore apps from playstore / settings, phone performance is good.
The next day however is when the issues seem to arise, Sluggish behavior and random black screens which require reboot.
Has anyone else seen such behavior? Im a bit stuck, starting to think there is an issue with the phone.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks.

Everything under display is disabled except "Adaptive Brightness"
Fastboot flash and then try your desired rom
Over the couple of months, many Moto G4 Plus owners have been complaining about the screen burn issue.
Well there wasn't a fix for this through software except Blue Light Filter (which didn't work for me), and while trying for the fix, I feel I have found one.
Prerequisites:
1. Android Nougat (7.0) (I am running on the stock NPJ25.93-14 i.e the 1st December 2016 Security Patch)
2. System UI Tuner enabled.
No Root Needed.
My device is the Indian variant XT1643 i.e 2GB RAM variant.
For those who are on Android Marshmallow CM based Custom ROM, you can try using the live display and setting the value nearby 3000~3500K (Although I am not sure if this would work since I haven't tried it yet).
Its the Night Mode!
1. Go download the "Night Mode Enabler" app from the Play Store --> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.michaelevans.nightmodeenabler&hl=en
2. Open it and click on "Enable Night Mode".
3. It will take you to System UI Tuner where you can toggle night mode on/off.
4. Go to the quick settings edit option, and you will see a new tile - "Night Mode".
Toggle on the night mode and see the effect after some time (it started to show effect as soon as I enabled it and fixed the issue within 20 minutes for me).
[Q]. What will happen if I toggle off night mode?
[A]. The Screen burn will occur once again.
You need to have the Night Mode to be always on in order to get rid of that Screen Burn issue.
I know that many might not like the color temperature of Night Mode, so if you have a CM based ROM, you can edit the temperature with "Live Display" option.
Well, try it out and lets see if it works or not!

First of all, thank you for sharing this.
But your "fix" is just a workaround and not a proper fix for our broken displays.
The only real fix is to replace the display.

Umm, I guess you are right. I have changed the title now.
Even screen replacement is not a permanent solution. I have replaced display and within 3 weeks issue reoccurred
It fixed the issue
The night mode enabler has fixed the issue for now. But the screen is of some weird color(especially white background).
Anyways, Its good to see my phone screen without the screen burn issue after such a long time.
Thanks
RGB calibration is the best fix for screen burn in !
unfortunately if u r on stock rom ,Then you have to root ur device .

Kernel Adiutor can modify rgb values for example.
Hello, Since switching to Realme ui with android 10, the phone has suffered from sudden lag and system freezes. I have to restart my phone because it becomes unusable. The problem is that it does it many times a day and with apps like Chrome. Is there any of you who have the same problem as me or if they solved it?
Manual flash to c.49 version it's more stable.
If u already have it do a backup and hard reset your phone.
Go to "developer settings", scroll down and toggle on "disable HW overlays"
I hope it works for you
Hi!
I have installed Resurrection Remix 8.6.4 GSI on my SM-T590.
After a few hours of testing, seems like all the functions I need are working except one, the automatic brightness setting. The sensor (CM3323E) is detected in sensor testing apps, also they can read the light value. Automatic brightness icon shows up next to the brightness slider, but it doesn't do anything, no new logcat messages are produced when I tap the icon.
Also, I have issues with WiFi and Bluetooth quick setting toggles. If the status bar icon shape is set to circular, and I tap one of them, SystemUI crashes because of a Resources$NotFound exception. I think this isn't related to the brightness sensor, more like a ROM bug, but who knows.
Where should I start debugging? I'm relatively new to Android development.

Yea, I have Tab A 10.5 (2018), SM-T590.
Basically I installed TWRP from here: [RECOVERY][ROM][ROOT][UNOFFICAL] TWRP 3.3.1-0 + Lineage [SM-T590/SM-T595/SM-T597] | XDA Developers Forums (xda-developers.com)
Then I just downloaded some GSIs and flashed them to see which one works, with some changes to the original post. I may create an updated guide for installing GSI ROMs using MrHomebrew's TWRP without having to mess with SD cards, etc, but you can follow the original guide to have a mostly working system.
You can download ROMs from here: Generic System Image (GSI) list · phhusson/treble_experimentations Wiki · GitHub
I'm still not sure about how that A-only / AB thing works, if you have updated to Android 10 on stock system, AB ROMs with A64 binder will run.
The phone is 2 years old, unlocked it a few months ago to play APK apps that required rooting.
Phone started lagging after that a bit, eventually it updated to MIUI 12, when the phone drastically started lagging.
I tried installing ArrowOS custom ROM, hoping that it would fix the issue, assuming that MIUI 12 is too heavy for the phone to handle - nope.
The problems started to occur more often and new issues started appearing.
Current major issues:
* Screen delay when trying to unlock with fingerprint / power button.
* Black screen / unresponsive screen on power button press.
* Notifications don't show up (black screen).
* When someone calls me -> phone vibrates/rings but the screen is black.
* Double tap to wake up -> black screen.
^All of the issues mentioned above that contain the black screen problem, sometimes but rarely the phone is responsive but it's like 2 times out of 20.
Things I have tried:
- Turn off all animations from Developer Options.
- Wipe Data / Dalvik Cache / Phone Cache / Factory Reset / Custom ROM.
- Installed stock ROM for Europe (since I live in EU) for my phone (latest MIUI 13) -> problem still persists.
- Wiped Cache / Dalvik after installing stock ROM (problem persists).
- Multiple factory resets (didn't fix the issue).
- Disable HW overlays -> this seemed to somehow give better performance but it disabled my Fingerprint function and I need this for banking security reasons, etc.
Overall the phone is still fast enough, no other issues, the most common issue is the black screen and the phone having this huge delay where sometimes it would turn on the screen for half a second and then go pure black again.
Most of the times I have to hold the power button for 10 seconds to force reboot it in order to access my phone.
Help is appreciated, thanks in advance people!

Well, if the same thing happens to you both on MIUI and custom ROM, the only thing I can think of is that you are installing something (most probably with root access) that gives you this issue. MIUI is obviously laggy itself, but Arrow/Octavi/Cipher are smooth and fast. Personally I use Octavi and face no such issue like yours.

I wish an app was the issue, the only app that I have installed is YouTube Vanced and it doesn't even require root access, the problem is that on a fresh installed stock ROM, the problem still persisted which brings me questions;
1) Am I installing a stock ROM Android 11+ which is too heavy for my phone causing lags?
2) Could it be a hardware issue considering that the problem exists on a freshly flashed ROM? But I need to exclude 1) first.

As I said, MIUI is heavy skin and it definitely lags more than AOSP custom ROM, but it shouldnt give you black screen issue. You could try to install Xiaomi.eu rom, which is a debloated, better version of MIUI than the stock one: https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi...MINote10_MICC9Pro_22.5.25_v13-11.zip/download
If multiple factory resets didnt help, then yes, it may be the hardware issue I think. But Im not that knowledgable to tell this definitely

I was already recommended by Scarlet on discord (if not mistaking the username) to install EU stock ROM which I did but the problem still occcurs, I guess I will try and give it on a mobile service check just to make sure it's not a hardware issue, I will still however wait for more replies in case someone else had the issue and managed to fix it software wise, thanks for the suggestions buddy!
