Bros... I would like to unlock bootloader of OnePlus 7 pro but do not have PC. Can I use bugjaeger adb tool app on Google play store to issue ADB commands via OTG USB cable from one Android phone to another? If that works then I could install TWRP and magisk manager by downloading both on Wi-Fi and root without PC. Will it work?
Yeah that maybe work, I personally never tested that way.

I am looking to buy a OnePlus 7 pro off eBay. I would like to use ADB commands to unlock bootloader so I can root with TWRP and magisk without PC. If I buy carrier unlocked phone does that mean I can unlock the bootloader and what unlocked carrier versions allow me to unlock the bootloader?

Not necessarily! Be super careful. You don't have Verizon do you?
There's a way to unlock certain OP7 phones recently but it requires a computer running Windows and it's fairly hard to set up. Ideally you would get a carrier-unbranded phone. The nasty thing is they'll still sell it as "unlocked" even if the bootloader *is* locked.

Question in the subject,
It appears the trend is towards not unlocking bootloaders anymore or offering to do it. Aka much more difficult time to root.
On that topic it seems even with magisk some bank apps know a phone has been unlocked
What are your views... will the custom scene just die off due to that trend?
No....HemeBrow not Die[emoji16]!!! Full backup ROM(App/DataApp and other).App Bank you use in PC/Laptop(Mayby Magist 20???)in smartfon...

Well, buy an international version of a phone from now on if you desire root and live in the US etc. Secondly if you use magisk hide and rename the magisk app in the manager settings banking apps are all fine, also you cannot have anything named magisk in your files example if you rename a file mag instead of magisk it work be found by those apps

Well I'm not in the US. My current phone (S7E) had an unlockable BL. But it blew the knox switch which could be used by banking apps to figure things out.
I AM using magisk. I tried on a fresh install with magisk hidden from banking apps and the name of magisk itself changed. I also used the core version, no go - 2 banking apps still figured I was rooted.
In fact even with magisk not installed they complained. A 3rd banking app worked though but I need one of the other 2 badly =\
I was looking to upgrade to the Huawei P30 pro.. no way to unlock BL anymore
That's why I'm saying is this dying off??

Really? The OEM unlock switch is to allow to be unlocked via fastboot
Command. OEM unlock, if the bootloader is locked on us varients ex Samsung locks us bootloader the fastboot command will come back in an error
Also I don't believe Blu ships with locked bootloader's since they are less expensive phones and not a big corporation if that is the case.
Every phone I ever owned had to have the bootloader unlocked via fastboot

On different phones the OEM Unlock switch does different things
According to this thread( https://slickdeals.net/f/14948867-google-pixel-3-phone-64-gb-pink-169-99?page=16#commentsBox ), one could unlock the bootloader of a Verizon 3 with the following method. I have already installed this month's update, so I cannot test it for now. If you have a Verizon Pixel 3 and have not installed this month's update, can you test this?
"
remove sim (!!!) if you ran it before with the sim inside - remove sim and do factory reset TWICE
connect to wifi
let it download the update
DONT INSTALL UPDATE
go to About Phone -> Build Version. Click it 10 times until it tells you're the Developer now
go to Developer menu
wait until the OEM unlock option becomes clickable (happens after system update is downloaded, but NOT installed)
toggle OEM unlock (result: should be enabled)
Enable USB debug on the phone (also Developer menu)
connect the device to your win/mac/linux machine with adb installed with USB cable with data pins. Phone will ask if you authorize your PC to USB debug it
from your PC run : "adb reboot bootloader". That will reboot your phone to bootloader with message and status "locked"
from your PC while your phone is in fastboot mode: "fastboot flashing unlock" (that should respond with
OKAY [ 0.356s]
Finished. Total time: 0.368s)
You're good now. It's bootloader unlocked. you can install any updates. It will not lock itself and can install any other 3rd party firmware (on your risk, sure)"

According to this thread, you have to do it when initially setting up the phone, before connecting to Verizon.

That means that only never-used Verizon Pixel3 can be bootloader-unlocked using that method, and used Verizon Pixel3 phones has no chance of unlocking the bootloader, is that right?

It shouldn't hurt to try, but if it is a Verizon phone it is unlikely to work.

I have given up. I will wait until the official software support from Google ends (later this year). End of support means that whatever exploit will be found will not be patched by Google, so if people could find a way to unlock the bootloader using some security vulnerabilities, the method will reliably work from that point on for ever.

Even for Verizon version?
I am trying to unlock my nord ce 2 bootloader but everytime I try to access bootloader mode, it says something like Unlock_Verify_device ok and then reboots
how can I unlock the bootloader? Same happens on my nord 2. Oem unlocking is enabled and I have no selection of advanched startup options. I have magisk boot.img to flash
Can't say I experienced that myself. The message you got looks promising. The 'unlock_verify_device ok' message means you're getting to fastboot. But I'm not sure why it's rebooting. Do you have enough time to run the command 'fastboot devices'?
Also, what version is your firmware?
Here is the guide I used when I was unlocking the bootloader: https://www.droidwin.com/how-to-unlock-bootloader-on-oneplus-nord-ce-2/
I am running android 12 beta on oxygenos
Edit: fastboot doesn´t even find the device
Oh, now it tells that serial is not match. what's going on?
so? Can anyone help? Phone keeps saying that serial is not match and then reboots. Is this phone just a joke or something? Gonna buy samsung if yes.
What model is your phone? I wasn't aware of the Android 12 beta being available for the Nord CE 2. Another thing to try is this tutorial to manually install the OnePlus drivers: https://www.droidwin.com/fix-android-device-not-showing-in-fastboot-mode/
Was looking on the nord ce 1 xda Forum. It's only recently that a few roms and twrp are starting to appear, so there is hope. IMO oneplus need to take £$50 off the price, more users = more chance of getting more development

No I am not able to unlock the bootloader either. There is currently nothing we can do.
Hi everyone, any update on this? Did someone manage to unlock the bootloader?
If I'm not mistaken. You can rollback to android 11 to get it back.
I'm currently facing the same problem, so I tried rolling back and have downloaded over 20 rollback zips now, and extracted them. All won't work, it reboots in recovery. And it is like fastboot just doesn't exist. So yeah they probably messed it up.
I'm so sad, I switched from Iphone to Oneplus partly because of the rooting options. So sad
Can I do this trough adb or not?

You don't extract it though. You just rename it by removing the _Rollback at the end.
See here: https://droidwin.com/downgrade-oneplus-nord-ce-2-from-android-12-to-android-11/
you guys knows what that means. I can't get it to do anything. Can't use any of the tools. Flash permission denied on everything. Even the Motorola rescue assistant tool doesn't support the device. Does anyone have any recommendations? All I can boot to is a locked Bootloader mode

Nope. OEM unlock is not turned on in settings. neither is USB debugging.
So you're saying you locked the bootloader on custom firmware, and while Android still runs, you can't unlock it again?
This is why you should NEVER lock the bootloader on custom firmware.

Exactly what I'm saying. I was drinking. got angry at certain bugs it had after rooting and well here we are. I can't even find any info on test points for edl on this model. It's just a $40 phone but it's the ONLY phone I have.

Sorry to hear that. If you're unable to unlock the bootloader with fastboot commands, I don't think there's anything you can do. I assume you don't have root?
you try and EDL cable yet? if you don't have one you can make one by stripping back a bit of insulation and shorting the black and green together with the device off, then at the same time click all three buttons 3-4 times until you see the 9008 port show up in device monitor (WINDOWS)
if that fails and you're feeling brave (or you have really good anti-virus software) you could always give something like this a shot
