Has anyone else had issues with Snapchat crashing since updating to the official release of pie? My camera in Snapchat almost always goes black before I can use it and I have to force stop the app multiple times to get it to come back.

Same issue here on Alpha version of snaochat. Don't know if it's a pie or snapchat issue because I noticed it around the same time as I upgraded to pie.

Same here, most frustrating thing ever. How to fix it? :crying:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/help/pie-camera-issues-make-noise-t3850712
The only way to fix it is to roll back to Oreo. OP really botched the Pie Reese by rushing it.
I'm currently on February patch update and my Pixel 3 native camera app keeps crashing, it crashes if I use the camera with other apps, it also crashes when I click on my photo gallery, sometimes it even crashes when switching camera modes, anyone else having this issue? I have to force app close, clear cache and even restart my phone, also deleted app updates and reinstalled them.

Hi! Thanks for the advice, I checked for updates but there are none, I even factory reseted the phone and wiped cache, installed March update and I'm still facing the same problem
Did you update to March 5 patch? There were some cameras fixes in that update.
I'm facing the same issue. Pixle 3 updated with the March update yesterday. Now, the camera will work once after restarting, then it will force close. If I try to change modes, it force closes. If I try to re-enter the app, it force closes. I deleted data/cache, uninstalled updates, rebooted into safe mode, and none of those things changed the problem. Frustrating.
I just downloaded March 2019 OTA security patch (PQ2A.190305.002) . Camera issues persist. It would open for the first a few tries. Then after a while it would take forever to find the view finder and would crash when I switch from camera to video. Not sure if this is related to camera but I cannot turn on the flash light by pulling down the quick access menu.

Yes, I did but the issue remains. It's frustrating
It seems like there's no support at all for this issue.

I know the feeling, I also tried all that you mentioned but none of them resolved this camera issue, I've sent many reports but there's no answer from Google support team. Even with third party camera apps the issue persists.

I also noticed an issue with the flash, if phone is charging it gives a overheat warning when trying to turn the flash on and doesn't allow it to be turned on. I think it was in video mode.
So I have a dilemma: I can RMA my current 3 months old Pixel 3 with buggy camera and risk of getting a refurbished one with the same buggy camera. Or I can wait for yet another OTA to fix my camera (the latest March OTA didnt fix my camera). What should I do? Should I wait for a few days to watch camera performance on the March OTA?

I've read in other forums that some people struggled with RMA cause it's a "software problem" and not a hardware problem according to Google technicians. And if the March OTA didn't fix the issue the same day, I don't think it will do it tomorrow or next week

Hi i came thru the RMA with faulty camera in Europe and i get a brand new Google pixel 3.
It's also started happening to me with my phone (bought in the original launch batch). I'm still on the Jan update (with Magisk, and haven't done the March one yet), but it just started happening the past couple of weeks making me think it's an update to the camera app/Play/something-else causing it.

Just updated to March (and Magisk 18.1) still happening. Anybody else in the boat with us?

I have contacted Google support team...they asked me if they can connect to my phone so they can see everything I'm doing on it...and after 30 min of troubleshooting they said I need replacement because nothing helped...so they sent me a new phone and after I have received it sent them my old one and even without cable, headphones,charger...now I have new phone and double of accessoriesDDD
Further update - booting into Safe Mode fixes the problem, so it's almost certainly related to another app which integrated with the Camera causing the crashes/freezes. I've uninstalled Twitter (which is camera integrated), but that didn't fix it.
Has anybody found the offending app?
Pixel 3
Same issue with rear camera unable to focus (tried factory reset, emptying cache, etc.). 1 out of every 10 photos comes out OK.
Glad I finally found other people with the same issue as me. My phone has the current software update as well as the camera app update. App opens up to the view finder totally black, same with other camera apps (snapchat, instagram). Tried booting into safe mode and the problem persists. Only thing that seems to fix it for me is restarting the phone whenever I want to use the camera, which is annoying. Haven't tried Factory reset. Sent an email to the camera app developer some time ago with no response. Might just try getting a new replacement with my Best Buy warranty.

I have the same problem with my Pixel 3, bigger problem is that I live in Brazil, and officially it is not commercialized and has no warranty here, technically is a software problem, but Google does not respond to feedback...
I happened to come here for an unrelated matter but seen this at the top of Q&A.
I also had the same problem. I performed multiple factory resets, made sure my software updates were the most recent, I also ran the phone for a week with NO THIRD PARTY APPS. The problem continued. I finally said "the hell with it" and RMA'd my phone. Seeing how they were aware of the problem, the RMA did not count against my Preferred Care warranty.
Since my replacement (roughly 3 months ago), I've had ZERO issues.
Hi all,
Just got this Mi Note 10 today and while setting up the phone I started to get those weird screen touches..
Happened so often that I enabled 'Show Taps' via developer options and recorded it here:

>> Is there anything I can do about this? Not sure if this is a Hardware or Software fault?
Any thoughts welcome!
thanks

Okay, this is weird. Which version is it? And did you have already tried to reset your device? If it's still there it's probably a hardware defect.

Well, I had the same MIUI version and region. I bet it's not a software problem. Just send it back

Right, so no fix really... disappointing as the cameras are impressive
My device came shipped with Android Pie Based Miui 11, no screen weirdness. Just after the Android 10 updates that ghost touches appear. So I guess it's just software bug.
me too, sure software problem.
Thanks for the feedback, if software-related were you able to roll back to fix this?
Happy to try a workaround as I'm very reluctant to send it back..
worth a try though, but unfortunately Xiaomi didn't provide stock ROM specifically for my region so I left with no choice
Completely puzzled as I did a Factory Reset via Recovery and haven't seen the issue for past 2 days, I've left the screen touch tracing on and no 'ghost touch' was recorded..
so I don't know what to believe anymore, got an open return ticket but would hate to send it back without needing to..
how can I make sure issue is gone?
Hi, i had this problem 3 weeks ago, temporary solved with hard reset, worked perfectly until yesterday night when this problem went back.
Hard reset again, problem still there.
Someone solved it permanently?
It is really weird because, if i turn off/on the display, sometime works sometime not :S
The phone came with Android 9 and I started to face this after updating to Android 10. The issue is not extreme as shown in the video, it just the touch becomes slow to respond and hard to type fast with the keyboard. Turning off the screen and turning back on solves it temporarily sometimes.
I tried disabling on screen fingerprint and the problem seems to be reduced now. Definitely a software bug
I'm using Mi note 10 lite it also has same problem. Sometime touch freezing and after press power button automatically fix. Some time need to restart. And also one person told me he is fixed by this issue by turned off fingerprint sensor.

I have the exact same problem as you, slow to respond and hard to type. Need to apply more force on the screen for it to respond. This happened randomly throughout the day but are more common during night time for me.
I think it has something to do with the screen lock pin or fingerprint, by changing the screen lock from ie pin to pattern or turning off fingerprint print seems to temporary fix the issue. Another solution is to reboot the phone. I'm using Note 10 Lite btw.

I am using the Pro version. Looks like this issue is common for all the phone models in the Note 10 series. Yes, I have noticed that this issue often happens at night.
Try switching off MIUI optimization under Developer Options and restart your device. Then switch it On and restart again. This workaround solved my issue.

This fixed the issue for a few days and it started to reappear again. When the issue appears, if I turn on Game Turbo for any app (eg: WhatsApp) that particular app doesn't have this touch issue. Looks like a software optimization or battery optimization of MIUI is causing this issue

What firmware version are u in?
I'm currently at 11.0.16.0 and fortunately this issue did not yet reappeared after the workaround.
This is definitely a software ISSUE with MIUI.

MIUI 11.1.3.0 Global Stable
Will try out the MIUI optimization to see whether issue still arise. I'll see if my game turbo have the same issue as you too.
I'm currently at 11.0.7.0 (Mi Note 10 Lite)
Edit: Mi optimisation doesn't work for me but the Game Turbo trick do work.
Hi all,
I just got the OOS 13 update this evening, and I have an EU version of the Nord 2T. Hopefully all regions should get the update now!
Might as well do a discussion thread to see how people get on with it. Hopefully it's all good, it's been fine for me so far!
First bug on C.24 EU version that I see:
Sometimes the HOME button doesn't work, need to go in multi-task view then home button is back working.
Double tap on multi-task button sometimes doesn't switch to previus app.
After 3 days of use I would say that the battery life has not changed.
As on OxygenOS 12, NO call recording option here in Italy, but with THIS solution is partially working.
Where are you live? In Poland I don't have any update
Edit:
I have used the Oxygen Updated and I have a13
At the moment everything looks fine...
Sometimes the fingerprint scanner does not appear on the AOD.

Yes bug confirmed
I just installed this update (euro) and think it just made the phone so even worse than (wasnt fan of previous either). The settings are just less accesible, there is an imbalance in font / icon size options, bothering me with even more added 'smart'features. Does anyone know how to downgrade / rollback?
[i came here because even the oneplus forum is a pile of crap ]

Maybe you should try do wipe?
For me everything works well, so I guess tahat it can resolve a lot of issues after update
I always do it after big update like this.
I appreciate the suggestion but I really want to do a rollback, because I really dont like the UI changes.
With second update C.26 bug always present:
Sometimes the HOME button doesn't work, need to go in multi-task view then home button is back working.
Double tap on multi-task button sometimes doesn't switch to previus app.
I buy my phone via online store with good condition then after using it for day i notice this phone flicker so much when play game i try many way but can't find fix for it so i wait for 2 updated os after every update i do factory reset 2 time to make my poco clean then it fix phone show it strength after this play i can play my fav gama ghenshin impact with high setting just fine
after 6 months my device got restarting after see many sources many people got his phone bricked after keep restarting and no solution so how do i pass this stage actually i believe this is software problem why im so sure because i have same problems before but for redmie 8a how do i fix it by disable mui optimization then open battery optimization then disable battery optimization from mui security app then no restart will happen again i believe this problem happened because mui depends on security app but android sistem when low in ram somehow kill it then security app.
next 6 months new problem show up my volume button keep pressing at that time i believe it broke but when see some videos there another software issues sone YouTubers disable talkback fiture then it fix i try it not hoping anything but it work clearly another software problem.
then after years with bo more problem today new problem show up just got update for mui security plug in after update it my phone power button it keep pressing it self once again i thing it broke because it keep restarting i try keep pressing button to enter safe mode when i enter it it positive my power botton broke because even slightly touch make phone sleep but then i remember volume button problem i try disable some thing nothing work until i uninstall all new updates app i unistall mui security core components that get update from mui security plug in then it fix my power button no longer pressing clearly it another software problem.
i hope my post can help other poco user with same problem as me hope it can fix your phone like mine
good luck everyone
I think it might be an issue with MIUI 13 itself, I haven't updated to MIUI 13 (currently using MIUI 12.5.7.0 Android 11) and I haven't experienced any major problems other than some minor UI bugs.
when i buy my device (2021 global variant) i get ghosting touch but just on miui 12, on custom rom i haven't experienced any problems
