What's the best rom for battery life? - Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro Questions & Answers

Just received my Mi 10T Pro. After checking multiple threads, seems there's a few roms in the market (e.g. stock w/ A10, stock w/ A11, Global, EEA, India, Russia, Xiaomi.eu, multiple ROMS based on AOSP... I was wondering which one is getting you the most SOT so far?
Thanks in advance,
F

Xiaomi has not release the global version of Mi 10 Pro. Only EEA firmware.
Only Mi 10 has EEA, Global and India firmwares.
Thanks.
For Mi 10 Global (MI) is with Mi Messages & Phone or Google ?
I have 10 Pro Global from HK and it came with Google versions.
I have the Chinese version as well and flashed it with Xiaomi.eu rom.

No updates since original bootup. Still on 11.0.2.0 QJAMIXM.
What has confused me though is that my QJA version does not show up on xiaomi's site - theirs says QJB.
What is yours?

This phone is the China rom with Google features. It is a Xiaomi.eu rom, at least mine was. Since this phone comes pre-rooted with an unlocked bootloader, I installed TWRP and flashed the latest version of MIUI 12 from the Xiaomi.eu website. The roms there are based of the Chinese roms, minus the Chinese bloat and with Google features added in. Remember, the EEA or Global version actually supports different bands than the Chinese version. Being in the US and a T-Mobile user, I need bands 2,4,5,&12 which are not supported in the EEA version, but I need the Google services, so flashing the Xiaomi.eu rom gives me the best of both worlds.

I have same firmware. It’s not a Chinese rom as I asked Wondamobile prior to purchase. It’s the Global Hong Kong version.
I also got this checked afterwards by someone else.

If it is a Xiaomi.eu rom, it is based on the China rom with Google services added in by the Xiaomi.eu devs. Go to their website, Xiaomi.eu, and see for yourself.

It’s not the xiaomi.eu , it’s as I said in my previous comment. If you check the included bands, i have the same bands as the global version. The Chinese version has less etc...
The issue is Xiaomi Mi 10 is a runaway success so all the resources have gone on this version. The mi 10 pro has not had the same amount of love. Even the Chinese version hadn’t had much love. You can check this on the official mi forums.
Where did you get your phone from?

Hong Kong is where mine was imported from (Giztop). There are only to versions of this phone. Either the Chinese version or EEA/Global version and they are priced differently too. There's a very limited number of roms this device can run. There's stock EEA/Global or Chinese and then there's the modified MIUI roms from Xiaomi.eu and MIUIMIX, which uses the Xiaomi.eu as it's base. The Xiaomi.eu rom uses stock Chinese as it's base. The stock China rom also has Google services built in. One merely needs to go the Xiaomi store and download Google Play and any other APK and Gapps you wish. But to verify which rom you are actually running, go to <settings> and then <my device>. If you are running the China rom with Gapps added, updater may have been disabled by the company so not overwrite Gapps and reinstall Chinese bloat when updated.

BTW, Giztop has both the EEA/Global and Chinese variants available. The Chinese sells for $729.00 USD and the EEA/Global sells for $849.00 USD.

Mine is also from wondamobile and is therefore the same as yours.
My phone status still shows as locked. If it was a non-official miui ROM would it not show as unlocked?

That' s my thought. I also got someone who works in the industry in a senior position to check for me, and nothing came back as an issue.
Even looking on Xiaomi.eu list of roms there is no firmware matching this. Looking on Xiaomi's official forums, there has not been an update on the global either. Plus the website that scanes firmware updates isn't reporting anything.
If Wonda sold me the non global, I will go back to them, and also raise a PayPal claim against them, but I specifically asked them was this a chinese version with flashed eu firwmare, with the bootloader unlocked etc and they said not.
In fact this is what Wondamobile said to me "
100% global version from Hong Kong, not one with a bootloader unlocked and flashed."
Yes I agree. I have bought several phones from them in the past and found them to be reliable.
Our firmware number matches the one on xiaomi's site. It is just that letter 'A' that is different.
Looks like other versions have a higher number so hopefully we should see an update soon.

Fingers crossed. I have just sent an email to Xiaomi Customer service in HK, so hopefully they will confirm that the firmware is ok, and also when the next update is due. I also asked them for an ETA on MIUI 12 for the handset.

I will only be concerned once I see the 'global' version on xiaomi's site have a higher number and I receive no updates on my phone.
Yes, it is disappointing that they announced that the 9 would get MIUI 12 before the 10! I suspect they will give you a vague answer but you never know.

I noticed the Mi 10 (non pro) has a firmware number as you said pretty much identical to ours except for one letter.
Even if I get a vague reply, that's all I need for now. If the phone doesnt get the OTA for the new firmware when it arrives, then like you I will be concerned. I am not into flashing phones etc.

I guess you mean it says just Mi 10 under the ROM itself, but it includes Pro in the title. Confusing!

Best ROM alternative for native MIUI apps on Mi 10 Lite 5G

Hello!
I just applied for bootloader unlock for my new MI 10 Lite 5G that came with the Global ROM.
I'd rather not use the G apps, so I would really appreciate your help in finding the best ROM version that has all the native Xiaomi apps and settings.
I find myself in a bit of a pickle, as some uncertainties arrose while looking into the subject:
1. Do I have the Monet version? I bought it in Europe.
2. Is there any official China ROM release for this phone? I'm having problems finding one.
3. I would really appreciate if someone with more experience could share his opinion on xiaomi.eu ROMs. Are they stable, do you recommend?
Thank you, any input will be highly appreciated!
Be safe, stay healthy!
Followed!
I need MIUI Dialer with call recorder, working stock camera app, working banking apps (like Google Pay!) etc.

@Jakimzinho:
xiaomi.eu has a ROM for Monet.
Have a look at the stable branch: https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-12-0-stable-release.56191/
Latest ROM while posting this is: xiaomi.eu_multi_MI10LITE5G_V12.0.2.0.QJIMIXM_v12-10.zip

#1 Mi 10 lite (monet) is for the outside china market, so most likely you have monet. The mi 10 youth / zoom (vangogh) is for the China Market. The easy way to find out, if on the camaras is printed 50 x is vangogh, if 48 MP, then is monet.
#2 Unfortunatelly there is not a china rom for monet, only global ones, in which there are two variants, EU for the european market and MI international for the global market. And to bring more misery, only estables ****ty-2,3,4,..months to update. Dev or weekly ones no longer are produce for global market terminals.
#3 haven't tried xiaomi.eu yet ( waiting 7 days to unlock). In general they are as good or bad as the rom's base they borrow it from, minus debload and very few twitches. Yet its the only good choice we have. Miui mix which is the other custom miui, never tried (magisk included in the rom) .
We are f****d

Hi!
I tried both ROMs.
MIUIMIX has been put into BOOTLOOP several times in a row even after a clean installation. Not sure it's a ROM bug, but I haven't experimented with it anymore.
A XIAOMI.EU 12.0.2.0. version is stable, I haven't had a problem with it yet.

Without tried yet both roms (waiting to unlock), it could be a problem with your recovery, i heard pichbkack might have a problem, try twrp from manufrio. Also i presume you did a format data (the yes one)
I will stick with the eu for the time been, don't like that magisk is included in miuimix, I'd rather flash it myself

Is it safe to downgrade to Android 10?

Hi,
i recently upgraded the device to the newest version of MIUI and Android 11. The new Android version seems to have some bugs in performance such as the fact that when playing games the device gets heated rapidly.
I would like to downgrade the firmware by flushing an official ROM.
But is that safe? Anyone had the same experience?
Also i am a bit of newbie so please also give some advice on what i have to do. What i have in mind is flashing a previous build like this one:
HMK305G_V11.1.25.0.QGICNXM_v11-10
or this one:
HMK305G_V12.1.5.0.RGICNXM_v12-11
Custom Roms come also with the new Android version?

No particular problem to downgrade. The bootloader must be unlocked and use miflash (more safe) or twrp to flash the rom.
The roms you indicate are not for the Poco f2 pro and are not original roms.
Do you want to downgrade to android 10 with an original rom or install a xiaomi EU rom?

I can recommend Xiaomi.EU custom rom. Was in a similar situation (not happy with stock miui 12.5 poco version). Unlocked bootloader and installed xiaomi.eu. It's much better. No issues so far.

Question Enabling NFC On Redmi Note 11E Pro in custom roms

Hi,
Just received this and have tried putting on several ROM's (Pixel, Elixir, ArrowOS) none of which can un-grey the NFC toggle.
How did others achieve this for their phones?
I believe this has to do with getting a required firmware flashed but thus far i have been unsuccesful in finding which one it might be. I've tried vendor_boot with no success.
Appreciate anyone's input into this.

I am using spark os and it works..
But again maybe i had initially good firmware, not sure
FYI for anyone else that reads this post. I tried multiple ROM's, attempted firmware sideloads via xiaomifirmareupdater.com and none of them have worked to un-grey NFC. I flashed the China MIUI and NFC was going there. I am now using the MIUI China ROM and NFC is showing. So, i guess i'll be sticking to MIUI with a good deal of de-bloating occurring.
Edit: Have tried Custom ROM's with Android 12 and 13 and both yielded the same result of nil NFC even with firmware sideloads.

Another question:
With NFC activated on the CN rom i still can't undertake contactless payments (security error message when attempting to add a card).
1) Have others experienced this on their phones? Is there any fix? Have any of the safety fixes helped you? Or are you stuck and unable to make contactless payments on this phone?
2) Out of curiosity does anyone have the Global version Redmi Note 11E Pro phone? I was only able to see the Global ROM versions being sold on Aliexpress and picked that.
Thanks.

Question Xiaomi 13 Lite / Civi 2: camera subsystem swap, is it possible?

Hello to everyone! First of all, I apologize as I know this isn't the right sub-forum for the products I'm talking about but I've had no choice because one for the 13 lite or the Civi 2 doesn't exist.
I own a Xiaomi 13 lite and Xiaomi.eu is going to make a new release for it any soon so no issues for me but I was talking with a main developer along with other owners here.
I was confident the 13 lite and the Civi 2 were EXACTLY the same thing, just for different markets but this turned out not to be the case. Indeed, they are almost the same but not completely being the cameras different.
Apart from being very helpful and giving me a much better insight on how things really are, the main developer has clearly stated that Xiaomi.eu isn't goiing to deal with the Civi 2 (and I completely understand the reasons for such a statement) but I've been intrigued at the idea of a Civi 2 owner (not my case then but, for example, the one of Barb0ne there and I believe not only him) being able to take the 13 Lite Xiaomi.eu and just 'swap' the camera subsystem.
I can think about at least a couple of big reasons leading to Xiaomi.eu not doing that even if it was so plain simple (like I think it actually isn't) but what if a Civi 2 owner tries it by himself?
I know the camera subystem should be embedded inside the kernel so it is quite hard to deal with it (I can only think about rebuilding it from scratch), even on rooted phones. Maybe using modules but I don't know... I haven't the knowledge needed to have a better insight.
For example, I think that taking a Civi 2 official Xiaomi CN rom and getting the kernel from there then swap it with the Xiaomi.eu 13 Lite one is a complete nonsense and could only lead to bootloops or worse. Has anything like that ever been done? I'm very curious about that and that's clear the question is mainly for developers. Thanks for your opinions (if any) and a nice day to everyone out there.
Weird since there are common global versions.
Xiaomi Civi 2/13 Lite Global Stable Fastboot V14.0.1.0.SLLMIXM 12.0 6.9 GB 2023-01-10.
Xiaomi Firmware Updater

Which would mean that there is a Xiaomi civi 2 in global version since we cannot lock the bootloader on a CN version with a Global rom.
@NOSS8
Thanks for your follow-up. I don't know what to say: you're absolutely right that there on XiaomiFirmware it seems let's say 'unified' roms are available but this goes in contrast with what that main developer was saying on the thread I've linked above and this is rather strange.
I tend to give more and more credit to advices coming from him rather than a (very well done and useful but still automatically generated) site. As already explained, I own a 13 lite so I can't check by myself. Maybe Barb0ne would like to. Thanks and have a nice day!
The site is maintained by
yshalsagerwho is a Recognized Developer Oct 13, 2014 on XDA.
the roms are recovered from the official Xiaomi servers, you can check the MD5 which will be identical.
It may be an error from Xiaomi, it wouldn't be the first time.

Saying anything wrong against XiaomiFirmware wasn't my intention, not at all and I'd like to underline once more as I've already tried to in my previous message. I'm starting to think that Xiaomi could well manufacture two lines for the Civi 2: the global which is just a rebadged 13 Lite and the CN which has the different cameras. It could be an explanation (but a mess apart from a nonsense from Xiaomi; not the first time anyway, at least if I remember well).
See here, sold with the global rom with the unlocked bootloader.

Edit:
It's exactly the same problem as with the Xiaomi 12T Pro and Redmi K50 Ultra, same phone but completely different camera (not the case with the 13 lite and civi 2) and yet Xiaomi Eu exists for these phones.

I tried all the roms in both global and EEU versions the problem is always the same the camera app crashes, it is partially solved by installing a third-party camera app (it works partially, the main camera works but when you activate the secondary for selfies not working properly)

In fact, from the site it may seem that there is a common rom, it would be necessary to have and test it, to see the effective functioning.

I only test official ROM CN, GLOBAL and EEU version with unlock boot loader
It's possible that rom on the vendor site is not a official rom !

And you installed them with Miflash?
Weird camera problems with common versions, maybe wait for a next update.
Not a complaint, we've put here relevant informations anyway but my original question (and the meaning for such a thread being opened here on a developer's forum) has been slightly sidelined... That's a pity, at least for me. I'd prefer to receive at least something like a reply saying "Forget it, it is impossible to do!" (like probably it is the case) rather than nothing at all.

how do I install it since it's not a fastboot version and as far as I know TWRP is not there yet for CIVI 2?
I know that the hybrid xiaomi.eu roms can be installed via fastboot but I don't know what the syntax is

Also tried the latest official global ROM 14.0.4.0 (some sites specified that it was compatible with the Chinese CIVI 2 version) but in fact it is not compatible. I deduce that for european owners of CIVI 2 China, the only possibility is a developer who works on the Chinese rom possibly adding European languages, which I don't know the level of difficulty.
