Hi, I'm looking at buying a note 20 ultra I found one but based off the IMEI number the phone is specifically flashed with XFV software (vodacom) the XVA is the open firmware in my country.
now can I flash XVA on the phone or will it break something?

As the title says, i bought an g930f from amazon and it is an XFV (south africa vodafone i think) version.
The phone works like charm and it is unlocked, but it came with XSG firmware.
I guess some along the line flashed XSG on my phone, but the problem is im not any getting OTAs! im stuck on february security update.
How can a solve this? Can a flash any exynos firmware on my phone? Does it have to contain my current CSC, the original one? How do i do to flash a firmware in ODIN and be able to get OTA later on?
Thnks!!!
Yes that should be ok. I reflashed my carrier branded s7 (new CSC) and I get OTA updates for the new firmware
Hello,
I'm trying to fix my soft bricked phone with this error (no quotes):
"dm-verity verifiation failed..."
I've already soft and factory reset the phone to no avail, as it still will not boot past the Samsung logo. Googling the problem has told me that flashing the original firmware with Odin should fix it, but after hours of searching I still cannot determine what firmware I need to download and use. Reading some of the threads here supposedly i can use firmware that shares my carrier and country but I cannot find the correct combination on any site.
Country: US
Phone: S7 (G930F) - On the recovery mode screen the full designation is G930FXXU1BPH6
Carrier: T-Mobile
Version 6.0.1
Does anyone know exactly where I can find useable firmware for the phone? Everything I see online (like sammobile for example) just has the firmwares for other countries.
Before the bootlock my phone was rooted if it matters.

The G930F is a primarily European device, so a different region than the US.
The firmware version you have provided is an old version of Marshmallow on T Mobile Poland. The fact that it's Poland doesn't really matter it's still EU region.
Now heres the important part....T Mobile in Europe do not use all of the same bands as T Mobile US so although you can flash any firmware for Europe your phone will not work 100% in the US
So first of all flash with either a nougat firmware for United Kingdom T Mobile or Untied Kingdom nougat undranded (BTU). From Sammobile.
I don't advise going straight to Oreo because there may be a fix for older nougat firmware from EU region to work perfectly in US. Once you upgrade firmware you cannot downgrade.
Once your phone is up and running you just need to look on the forum of how to get a G930F device working perfect on US networks.
One relative bought me a Samsung Note 10 from China. It's a very beautiful phone. However, it doesn't have Google Play Store, worst of all, the default search engine and location service is Baidu.
It seems the Chinese version of Note 10 has same Model number and specs to the ones for Hong Kong and Taiwan, so I tried flash the TGY and BRI firmware with Odin, but both failed when flashing "system.img.ext". Thanks for goodness, I was able to revive the phone with Odin by flashing it back with CHC chinese firmware.
Did I missed some important steps? Or is it possible to flash China SM-N9700 (CHC) with Hong Kong (TGY) / Taiwan (BRI) ROM?
Any advise is appreciated!
Thanks
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaahoooo!
Figured it our myself. It worked !!!!
The Chinese version of Samsung SM-N9700 is actually identical to Hong Kong / Taiwan version.
Here are the tips to rebrand it to Taiwan or Hong Kong version.
1. Download the official firmware of N9700 for Taiwan or Hong Kong (must be higher or same version of your device)
2. Boot into download mode
3. Use Odin to refresh, there are two CSC files in the firmware package, make sure to use the CSC_* file, DO NOT use the HOME_CSC* file it will cause failure on system.img.ext4 flash. Using the simple CSC_ file will wipe everything off your phone and put the phone back to the true factory state, make sure you backup your stuff if you want to keep anything on the device.
4. Enjoy the beautiful Note 10 with Google Play Store installed ))
!!! Warning, do not flash if you don't understand what I am talking about above!!!
Do you know if it's possible to install Android 10 beta on it ? Thanks
I have a n9700 HK me too

I don't think there is Android 10 BETA for N9700 model yet.
Personally I have no interest to test the BETA even if it become available.

Guess that your Chinese version is equipped with 5G. How does the change in firmware affect this? Is 5G still available after flashing?

No idea, there won't be 5G coverage in my city for at least a couple of years, by that time, the Note 10 will be definitely retired.

OK. Thanks. Trust that HK firmware won't have 5G.
Hi. I have the s10 plus smg9750 china version. I want to flash the Hong Kong firmware. Do i just flash the CSC for the latest Hong Kong version (which is the same version as my china version) or do I flash BL, AP etc? Can u give me a step by step approach to change my Chinese version to hong kong. I keep getting fail on Odin. Thanks
I recently bought an unlocked AT&T Samsung S20 ULTRA 5G (SM-G988U), it doesn't get any OTA updates, I found out that I would need an AT&T sim card to do so but I'm not an US resident, so I can't get one.
Since AT&T doesn't publicly publish their firmware files and I want to update my phone, I was wondering if flashing my phone using another firmware with a different CSC code like USC (US cellular), would be risky or is it a safe procedure?
This would be my first time doing this procedure and that's the only part that really got me thinking.
Thanks!
U firmware is identical, no matter which carrier it's from. So if AT&T's latest release ends in UH2 and there is also a UH2 firmware from US Cellular, flashing it would be just like flashing the AT&T firmware, if it were available
Also have same question I have Samsung S20 . SM-G988U , service provider software version SAOMC_SM-G988U_OYN_ATT_RR_0018ATT/ATT/ATT Baseband Version G988USQS2SUE2, I am not able to get new updates as I am not in US, I need suggestion which firmware of android 12 I should update on my phone.
Hello, I would like to preface this by saying that I don't actually live in the US. I got this used unlocked AT&T Galaxy S21+ a few months back and an issue I noticed after using it for a while was the fact I was not receiving any OTA updates due to the fact I was not using an AT&T SIM card.
Now I want to switch AT&T to carrier-free firmware where I will be able to get regular OTA updates automatically
My current specs:
Model: SM-G996U
chip: Snapdragon 888
Baseband version : G996USQU1ATLF
CSC : G996UOYN1ATLF
AP/CP : G996USQU1ATLF
Is it suitable for installation?
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/g.../SM-G996U/USC/download/G996USQU5CVDB/1640229/
N.B/: May doing this flash will brick or damage my phone?
On SamMobile, underneath my device model, there list of several firmware labeled with different US carriers. As long as the firmware I flash is under the model number I have (SM-G996U), nothing should break, right?
Please suggest me firmware. I want to get rid of carrier barrier and want to get regular updates automatically safely.
Did you try the rom? I have the same problem
OTA is CSC based. You'd have to use Samkey to unlock the CSC to a unlocked US one.
Flash the u1 xaa firmware. Works on my phone in canada
I have a similar issue!
So I received a refurbished S21+, it is unlocked and all but it has AT&T bloatware and I can't update to oneui 5.0... I live in italy but this phone comes from Germany and apparently has a US AT&T firmware (SM-G996U-OYN-ATT). I was following a tutorial with odin to flash to SM-G996B with ITV, which is the italian version with android 12 and oneui 4.1.1 is it safe to do so and then get the android 13 update the standard way? Could I straight up get android 13 and oneui 5 flashing the most recent rom or is it even worse?
The other solution I thought about is that I could just get the U1 XAA, but i have U for now and I don't quite understand if it's completely risk free or not.
