So i am still on the beta of android 11.. Is there a way to get over to the OTA> i have checked for updates hasnt seen any.. i googled didnt really find any good answers.

Use Frija to download the latest U1 or U firmware, flash in Odin using Home CSC and you should be updated to current without losing data.

Manually updating to Oreo

Hi.
I have a G955U Galaxy S8+ AT&T Factory Unlocked on Android 7.0
Baseband Version: G955USQU1AQD9
Android Security Patch Level - April 1, 2017
I no longer live in the US, and currently in the Philippines. Phone works great and the signal is too and all, but I cannot get OTA updates.
Can I just download the firmware file in this thread and flash straight through ODIN, or do I need to follow another guide?
Thanks in advance
You can, however there are specific sequences to follow, so you have to update in firmware released order.
I encountered the same problem so I downloaded odin that worked for Nougat and loaded all version to BRB1 I think it is and then went to Oreo. Currently on CRC5.
Another note, when you are about to hit Oreo you will need to download the odin that works for Oreo. It can be found in the CRC5 thread.
Happy Updating

Is this really necessary?
I want to update to Oreo as well but since I'm AT&T unlocked and not currently using AT&T network I'm stuck in the June software update so I'll have to flash like 7-8 firmware updates and each one being about 2-3 GB to download.
Also, is there any stock Samsung firmware I can download so I can avoid having to manually flash every software update? Or am I just stuck with the AT&T firmware?
Thanks in advance.
I'm also having this problem. Need to flash the updates through ODIN but I can't find every single stock file leading up to BR9 on this site. Do I really have flash them all? Or is there another way?

Trouble Flashing Samsung S7 to Android 7.0

Hey so.. Phone's root bugged out yesterday and I downloaded twrp and decided I should upgrade it to Android 8.0 then root it. After many hours of failures I managed to flash a 8.0 but I couldn't make the CSC to work, since my phone is region locked to another country so I decided to go back to 7.0 and try again.. but now here it gets complicated because I really don't know what to do. I'm not sure how exactly to go back from 8.0 to 7.0.. Can someone give me detailed steps on what should I do.. I'd be very grateful!
PS. I don't know if I'm posting this in the right forum thread.
Here https://updato.com/how-to/how-to-install-an-official-samsung-stock-firmware-using-odin
Same site, or sammobile can be used to get the firmware files to flash with Odin
Note: The last version of 7.0 locked the ability to downgrade, I haven't gone to Oreo so can't confirm, but it ability to downgrade may also be removed from Oreo.

I can confirm, downgrading from Oreo 8.0 to Nougat 7.0 is possible, even without tripping knox.
It's just flashing the previous firmware with odin and factory reset the phone before first run and you're fine to go

Galaxy S9+ Pie Beta

I had a bit of trouble installing Pie on my device. Since I have AT&T and AT&T devices do not get beta updates (the betas are internally tested by AT&T staff), I had to flash an unlocked U1 firmware to get the update. When I flashed the newest firmware for U1 using the modded Odin by Raymond, my phone legitimately bootlooped on the Samsung start-up screen. I, then, wiped the cache, /data and mounted the /system directory, and rebooted the phone. Voila! I was on Android 8.0.0 for U1, and then I signed up for the beta program through Samsung+ (I had to sideload the newest beta version of Samsung+). Within 20 mins, I manually checked the software updates and Pie was ready. And everything went smoothly after that.
Some steps to flash U1 Firmware
- Use Modded Odin
- Get correct firmware with the same or newer bootloader for your device
- Try updating the firmware using an OTA.zip file from SD Card or through adb sideload
Best of luck to all AT&T customers rearing to get Pie.
Hey there, also on an AT&T S9+ locked device. Currently on BRJ5. Am I correct in reading that we have no choice but to wipe data to update?

Yes. You have 2 options.
1. Flash to U1. That requires a wipe. Sign up for beta.
2. Side load the builds. You'll need to be on ARIB. You can Odin to ARIB or in my case, I Odin to ARI6, and sideload to ARIB, then sideload to K9 build.
ATT causes a wipe every time you side load. So if you stay on the U firmware, every time a new beta is out, you get wiped. If you swap to the U firmware, the Beta will do an Ota, which does NOT wipe.
If you don't care about video calling, wifi calling or Volte (not 100% on that one), go to the U1 firmware and hope the beta isn't full.
We need an AT&T employee to drop the files up in here...
Perfect on my ATT s9+

How do i revert my Samsung S8+ firmware to the correct version?

A while back i had tried installing the android pie update for my samsung s8+ in canada and of course it did not work. As always samsung takes 100000 years to put out an update and its still not here. Anyways i havent received any updates since and my software version is probably not right. I was wondering if it will automatically update when android pie comes out or if it wont update at all. Also the device security isnt working so thats a bad thing thats why i want to try and revert it. Thanks, sorry for the unclarity if any.

And the software for which version did you flash exactly? I assume you have a G955W variant? If so then it should be as easy as downloading the latest firmware from fw.updato.com or search Google for Samfirm and use it to download the latest firmware for your phone. Flash via Odin and it should be back to normal.

The baseband version I have is G955USQS5CRL1, which is weird cause I downloaded the G955W software... Build number is R16NW.G955USQS5CRL1

Question Q: What to do with ATT Snapdragon SM-S908 stuck on OneUI 5.0 beta 1? (Re-enable OTA)

Essentially I'm in a pickle and I'm currently running OneUI 5.0 beta 1 on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra ATT locked device (SM-S908U) and I sideloaded the .bin for the official SMS908U beta build and it flashed and wiped everything and works fine. Except ONEUI 5 stable is coming out soon and I have tried Odin flashing several builds of Android 12 OneUI 4.1, I have tried Samsung Smart Switch emergency initialization (which doesn't show my device after failing to post the update), I went to Samsung Members but it says something about changed country info or not being in the Beta, but once I go to the open card to actually enroll for the beta, it says I'm already on it because it thinks since I have it at all its legit but it doesn't talk to the same exact framework of the app to find out if I need to officially enroll still. Either way I cannot opt out via Members either, I am fairly stuck. Any advice ?
*I do not have any backups from Android 12 stable.
You tried flashing official firmware for U device right? You were using CSC file or HOME_CSC to preserve data?
Going back from beta to stable means wiping data, phone will factory reset when you flash back the stable firmware and you should use the CSC file (not HOME_CSC)
Yeah... I know how to operate Odin3... It literally says right there I tried flashing multiple stable builds and each time it fails with AUTH error. Tried HOME and regular CSC....
I have the same phone. I have not gone back to stock U firmware from beta. But I have gone from beta to stock U1 firmware. I believe once you go back to stock U1 Android 12. You can flash back with Odin not patched to U firmware.
