[Q] Help! Baseband/Radio Issues?!

Hi, sorry if I shouldn't have created this thread..I just don't know where else to look for help.
I have had a very stressful afternoon reading about radio's and baseband versions. I have confused myself even more.
Basically I bought a Nexus S from a UK second hand store, I can't remember what the baseband was when I bought it. (Sorry)
I then proceeded to root the phone and flash a copy of Hellybean. I then instantly had signal issues and was never able to use 3g.
The highest connection I get is GPRS. Mt carrier is 02 if that is any help.... I then flashed a copy of CM to see if that changed anything, no luck!
The model of my phone behind the battery reads GTI9020. The baseband in the about phone section reads I9020AUCKF1.
Is this the correct baseband for my model or should I flash another?
Any help is much appreciated..thanks
Nick

Flash a G930F Rom on a G930K SGS7?

Hello everybody,
I'm looking for the answer of my question but I still didn't find it. I live in Hong Kong and I bought a SGS7 from Korea, the model is SM-G930K. The phone is unlocked but there are bloatwares from the carrier and I can't remove the sound of the camera on this model.
That's why I was wondering if I could use an international rom like from the SM-G930F? I wanted to try but I'm afraid of bricking the phone. The SM-G930K from Korea is also a Exynios version, so I really hope I can flash it with an international rom.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, I made a mistake! How move the topic to the questions and answers section?
G930K user here, too. Yes you can, but directly flashing G930F firmware through odin is not possible due to difference in partition sizes. Still, you can flash custom ROMs which can be installed through TWRP(e.g. Superman ROM).

But custom ROMs have to mention G930K or not? Or just a classic custom ROMs from G930F is ok?
I remember, a long time ago, may be before Android, I edited the ROM just with an hexadecimal app, and I could change the model and some stuff. We can't do something like this neither?

Just flash G930F ROMs, it doesn't matter whether G930K support is mentioned or not. No need to edit anything.

Isn't it what the re-partition option for?
Sorry to bump an old thread, but that't the clearest discussion I've found so far regarding flashing on the K variant.
I'm asking this for the S7E though (G935K > G935F) and everyone on the other forum says that it is just impossible to do anything on the K version ( which seems weird to me since the hardware is exactly the same and root/TWRP work fine).

I made a research during few weeks about that, and it's still not clear. I have also read that the modem is faster than the classic S7. But I have not found a loud and clear answer.
Until someone try to flash a G930F rom on a G930F phone, we won't know.

I know this is an old thread but does someone know the answer whether it is fine to flash a g930f rom to a G930k variant?

Hi. Apparently you cannot. If you want another rom, you have to install an alternative recovery, root your phone, and install a custom rom.
Anyone found clear answer?

Hi. No you cannot. Check my previous message, the only way is to install custom rom.
Those devices have same hardware. But the partition sizes are different. If you want to know, just flash custom recovery (TWRP) to your korean S7 and flash LineageOS or RR. Because all of them suggested our devices as well like this: (G930 F|W8|K|L|S). It will fail when you try to flash it by recovery. Because Galaxy S7's Korean variant's partition sizes are different from international and canadian S7s. There was one guide to flash AOSP ROMs to Korean S7's. There will be guide to resize of partitions on ROM's installation. But all commands are needs Linux Based OS, but not Android. I was tried it by Termux on my Galaxy S7. ext2simg command was still not available on Android's terminal . Others was available... so sad. And python codes are so simple to run. One day I will try it on Linux Based OS'd PC.

Not fine. But our devices have same hardware (F = W8 = K = L = S). Only the partition sizes are different. You just need to flash custom recovery (TWRP) then choose custom rom what you want for your S7. I'm suggesting SuperMan ROM and BatMan ROM. They are so stable, and clean. BatMan ROM was not fully stable on my G930K. Then I tried SuperMan ROM's clean, stock installation method on AROMA. It was really clean and Stable on my G930K. Try it bro :fingers-crossed: all of them TouchWiz interfaced. If you want try AOSP, you need to resize your partition sizes by this guide.
Is it possible that I install twrp to install smg930fd firmware in my smg930s Samsung s7 and uninstall twrp after doing this ?

No, not yet. And when i start up the phone, and all it does is show a black screen with a samsung logo and stays that way.
Try entering recovery (Vol up+Home+Power), see if it says there on the bottom something like DM Verity failed.
If it does and the phone was rooted before (Knox something else than 00 in DL mode), just flash CF autoroot for your model, or some other kernel for your model, you can find it here or google it.
If it does and phone is stock (Knox 00), I would try Authorised Samsung repair shop, and ask them to fix it in warranty.
Thank you I have recently fix my phone. Thanks for everyone's help.

Download this file it's kinda big because it's a stock firmware. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AtUOJHO1Ks7cgTeMnlD2_XOPr1xT and there should be 4 files in it and you put these files into Odin. And in the beginning of the file names should be like AP,BL,CP and CSC. Once you put the right files in the right place click start and it should fix the problem.

You don't know about N971N variants, do you? I DID SAW EVERY LISTS AND THEY ARE NOT SUPPORTED IN NORMAL WAYS! Why would I even bother asking then?????? They have Twrp but no exact workarounds for rooting it. The Base Note 10's 5g version is almost Impossible to root in a way (as I tried and used all ways in my knowledge). And About flashing, I did said it didn't helped, so it means it didn't! Like, the Volatile memory of my Note 10 5g(which is usually not affected by flashing) is corrupted due to wrong file flashings. Now The issue is, there is no network. Even flashing original roms numerous times doesn't help. Rooting via TWRP is also baseless, since even after multiple tries of rooting it by flashing SuperSu or Magisk modded Roms. It just doesn't work.

You don't talk to people like this,
Anyways I'll excuse your English since I myself is not English
1st of all I have two Samsung's note 8 n950n (Korea) and note 10 5g n971n also Korea
I have lineageOS installed on my n10 (no network) as I only use it for gaming
I have reflashed stock ROM for my device many times as a developer asked me to test ROMs for N971N (as we speak)
I understand your frustration, but this is xda if you don't explain your problems well nobody will help you (and need I remind you that every ROM(s) out there for the note ten variant did not mention N971N)

Man, I really dont speak English perfectly and am frustrated! Cz you know , this N971N is such a mess. It's exynos version is so messed up and hard to root or fix. Oh btw, your one's a exynos version or sd one? Cz that might have a influence too.
Yes I also flashed lineage OS on my Note 10 had it rooted afterwards, but which didn't worked (nothing works, like, it does says its rooted but doesn't works). But after flashing Lineage OS, i saw I have no internet, and I thought maybe its my phone's problem (which, you say isn't as you have the same issue after flashing....****) so I flashed a EFS file thinking Lineage OS might have jacked my EFS (which was totally unprofessional of me) I really was so disappointed afterwards.
No no wait, I know if I don't get help from XDA then I would not be able to get help and I also know that all other roms out there didn't included d1x or N971N as their supported device! Thats exactly why I was just saying that when you asked?
Im sorry man, I didn't wanted to be rude.... actually Im Searching here and there for a long time. Shabi_Shaw and I had a talk and I also said him too. I've been on this for 1 year and I am really in need of a way to fix my phone. The only reason I need to root my note is access the EFS folder and edit it back to normal.
Wish all these mess never happened. I mean, how the hell I thought back then that rooting can Increase N971N's battery life when it's capacity's already less
