I am facing a starnge issue when typing . Some characters mysteriously appear when typing.
In my case the characters on the lower edge space, comma, full stop, enter, etc. output double characters. For Example when i type single "," the output is ",,"
It seems that other people are also facing these issues, on samsung sites.

Samsung notes spurious characters
Since the last update whenever I type into notes each character I type is randomly followed by either an exclamation mark or a random word. For example if I wanted to type "bits" I would get b!I!t!sand. I did post something a couple of days ago and got a reply asking me to reset the keyboard in...

Does any one have any workarounds or solutions for this problem?
Yesterday recieved the full android 11 update with ui3.
My problem of typing seems to be solved.
Guess this typing problem was a issue with the software.

Hello All,
I am not a developer and wouldn't know where to look for a sign of or a problem but I have one and wonder if I'm alone, and more importantly if there's a fix. Problem is this, when typing either using the stock android keyboard, thumb keyboard, or a Motorola bluetooth keyboard in a text area such as the one I'm typing this post into the cursor loses sync with the current position it should be in. The problem becomes most evident after backspacing to correct a spelling error for me. Also related is that after stabbing the screen and correcting a word and moving on, the word will just disappear. This phenomenon will also occur after selecting a suggested replacement and then stabbing the screen at the end of where I left off.It is extremely frustrating and very counter productive. I know that it would be a better solution to not have to correct errors, but hey... Sometimes it seems like I'm writing on paper and to correct an error I take a pair of scissors and fold the paper up, cut a snow flake out of it and then try to put the pieces all together again.
Anyone experiencing similar things and as I siad before, more importantly, is there a fix for it?
Today in local electronics store I was exploring all of the Android-smartphones I seemed to like. I tried to use and type with one hand. Unfortunatey, a part of palm (near the big thumb) taps the screen from time to time causing to click "enter" or "back") .
tried z3 compact - much better, but sometimes "palm situation" happens
Then I remembered my ipad mini, suddenly realized and ran to the place with new iPhones
took a version "6", used it - OMG, the keyboard really doesn't respond to the palm !!! being still surprised, took "6 +" - there you can also calmply use one hand
Finally, just in case, checked LG and Huawei - they reacted to the palm like to an old friend
Conclusions:
It's high time to write messages to Google, in particular, to the Android department, so that they would adopt this feature as soon ads possile (it's strange that they haven't done it yet, although the fingerprint was no problem)).
Does any of you happen to know a certain email of Android dep. so that we could porpusefully write to thm?
Hello,
Not sure if anyone else is having similar issues, but my GBoard seems to never get what I'm trying to type correct with Glide Typing. I'm coming from a 1st gen pixel XL, and it was great at guessing what I was trying to type. I assumed installing the same keyboard would make my note have the same accuracy, but it just seems to miss all the time.
Here are a few examples:
Trying to type : What is actually typed
Typed : tired
Installing : undertaking
Field : Did
Has anyone else had these issues? If so did you manage to fix it? Please tell how.

I use Samsung keyboard and after sometime keyboard learn to predict what I want to write.
On Edge of Galaxy
I found that if i get too close to the curve of the edge it picks the wrong letter then it picks the wrong word. I slowed down my swiping and its better at getting the text right.
I use Gboard too and tested all 3 words with no issues. Good luck.
I was a long term user of Gboard .... I found glide typing to be much more inaccurate on the Note vs my $7 Edge. I got some improvement by using Swype
Hello,
I've since the update 10.5.8 and 10.5.9, I've got miss typing on the edge
When i'm typing a word starting on the edge/curve screen, the word is in 2nd position instead of 1st position :
meme => emem
pq => qp
aux => uax
autant => uatant
qd = dq
This is like pocophone when the phone get out there was a touchscreen bug for 6 months then they've fixed it so no more reverse letter
Now it's a regression from OnePlus because on previous firmware i didn't have any issue
I'm on stock rom just rooted and BL unlock
I'm the only one ?
It's happening the same to me. I'm going to try another keyboard app, I'm using Gboard.
Stock ROM here but not rooted.
Edit: it only happens to me if using Gboard, but it works fine with SwiftKey. Try it.
I've used touchpal on my old phone and with oneplus i wanted to used stock app (now i liked it, it's very difficult to change )
i've tried swiftkey and go keyboard and i've still got some miss type but not as much as gboard and i don't really like it
But this happen since latest update only with 10.5.7 i have no issue at all

I tried SwiftKey yesterday but I don't like it as I cannot switch from Spanish QWERTY keyboard (with Ñ) to Portuguese QWERTY keyboard (with Ç). Gboard can do it...
I think we have to write slower til Oneplus fixes it... :silly:
Yeah, i've open a case since 10.58.0 but we have so much isssue with google stuff
also Chrome freezing issue

But I think is some Google related problem. I was owning a Huawei P30 before OP8 (since more than a year and until 2 weeks ago) and Google Chrome was freezing also there (the trick was going to homescreen and then open Chrome back again, that fixes it temporary until another freeze hahaha). So I don't think that's related with OP8, but not sure.
I've uninstall Webview android so it's stock one and i don't have that much miss typing...
I didn't install the update from play store but for the mom i'm staying like that
I have this problem even when using other keyboards

And what does Android Webview have to do with this keyboard issue?
Another one with the same problem. It seems that this issue is fixed with Swiftkey but I don't like it at all. I've contacted with One Plus support but the only solution that they gave me was sending to RMA.
I've tried with the Android 11 Beta 2 but the issue persists...
oh double post
Really ? They may change our screen for this issue ?
This happen since 10.5.8 update before that I've didn't have any issue.
It's like a driver issue.. but it's seems we are only a few people who are affected by this issue
They can change with 8T for me
My issue is similar to yours. The error appears when I press "ai" or "qi" quickly or with two thumbs - the result is "ia" and "iq" even though I believe I pressed "a" and "q" first. On the edges of the screen, there is a small delay in input. The problem isn't unique to physical edges, as all "a" and "q" buttons can be delayed even if they are not directly pressed on the edge. My conclusion is that this confirms the existence of a software bug. Is this something that can be fixed? I find it quite uncomfortable to type with two thumbs. Would it be possible to change this? It is on a Nordic keyboard, and "q" and "a" is located right at the screen edge. There is no difference in the problem no matter what keyboard I use, including Gboard (despite its small buffer between the screen edge and the leftmost key). For practicing typing, I found a free online typing test tool to see how fast you type. Also, it will help you remember the keys. It's an easy and enjoyable way to check your typing skills.
Hello guys,
I have tried with default Samsung Keyboard and tried with Swiftkey and noticed that when I am typing certain words like "Allergy" or "Where" for example, it suddenly interrupts the swipe pattern and changes the word to "All" with space next to it as if there was an error registering the touch gesture as I touch each key on the keyboard. It seems that this happens a lot near the letter G.
This does not happen on my S21 ultra. Tried without screen protector, and same issue so its not the protector. Tried *#0*# and did a display Touch test and it registered everything perfectly. Tried clearing cache/data no luck. Tried disabling/enabling auto correct and no luck either.
Does anyone have this erratic typing issue?
Hello mate, yes I also have this issue, on any of the keyboard, I tried Samsung stock keyboard, gboard, microsoft keyboard, some other mates are also experiencing this issue in Yandex keyboard.
maybe you can use google translate, but this is russian forum https://4pda.to/forum/index.php?showtopic=1029360&st=4120#entry114129735 here is the example
also another mate already reported the problem to the samsung members and they acknowledged it

It is a feature, the new text prediction is by GRAMMARLY, but like in this forum, doesn't work well and the cursor goes crazy.
Solution, TURN OFF PREDICTIVE TEXT.
nah, disabling predictive text does not help.
Exactly same issue on S22U exynos! Very, very annoying.
Any other better alternative keyboard ?
the only solution here is not to use swipe feature of the keyboard, as this issue appears on ANY keyboards (personally tested).
I would suggest Fleksy, as it is designed to type manually, and wait for a fix of this problem.
personally, it is one of the serious reasons to sell this phone (sadly)...
There's a thread in the Samsung members app about the same exact thing, it started with the April update. I haven't gotten the May update yet, I'm hoping it will fix it but I don't have that high of hopes. It's definitely a software bug though.
Did anyone try to rollback to a March firmware?
Also, if someone received May update, could someone confirm that issue is resolved?
Thanks
it is NOT fixed, yet...
UP.
Seems like swype is fixed with the newest update S908BXXU2AVEH.
I'm currently on it and checking that everything is good.
Can someone confirm that?
I've experienced the same wonkiness described by the OP with SwiftKey on both my S22 Ultra and Tab S7. In fact it happened while typing this on my Tab S7. I'm not able to consistently replicate it though. Or at least not able to purposely replicate it.
Okay so I've been experiencing this same issue and this is everything I've found so far.
The issue is when swype typing on any keyboard. I enabled touch pointer in dev options to see exactly what was going on the screen and what's happening is for example when swype typing the word "everything" the screen recognizes when touch the E and begin moving towards the V but it loses the touch and detects it again so it thinks you finished typing a word and started again therefore the word EV is put on the screen and a new word is started. This is very aggravating. I've noticed that it happens a lot with words starting with E, A, W, S and if you notice those are all in the same area of the keyboard.
What I've done to fix it. I use film screen protectors instead of glass. I thought the SP were too thick and it was messing with the touch sensitivity but i tried several and nothing changed. I tried various settings in the phone especially the touch sensitivity option for screen protectors and turning it on definitely helped but the issue remained.
What i did was take the screen protector off completely, leave the touch sensitivity option enabled in settings and the issue is completely gone. So the issue lies somewhere with the sensitivity of the screen and screen protectors limiting the touch sensitivity.
This is all I've got so maybe this info will help anyone having the same issues. Hopefully Samsung will adjust the sensitivity in upcoming updates.
No worries, mates
This issue was fixed with June update
I have already installed it, running for 3 days, everything is working great, no problems with swipe typing
S908BXXU2AVEH
I can confirm also that the issue was fixed in the latest update.
