Tested on e8d.
My e8d( m8sw) no signal , phone app broken. His device code only support set_ro_build_prop(source, "fingerprint", "htc/htccn_chs_cu/htc_mecdug:5.0.2/LRX22G/506306.3:user/release-keys"), but mine is 6.0.
Clearly, this build has so many bugs, that battery runs out quickly with very very hot temperature.
It will broke device patitations, that i can't boot into recovery, also flashed his e8's twrp 3.4 recovery. That means, once flashed this rom, then can't boot into recovery. I used fastboot to earse boot&recovery patitation ,reflashed other rom's boot.img&official twrp 3.3 ,then can enter recovery and flashed other roms.
And i think the builder hasn't checked device code yet. It told
Supported models:Single SIM : htc_mecwhl,htc_mectl,htc_mecul,htc_mecul_emea
Dual SIM : htc_mecdug,htc_mecdugl,htc_mecdwg,htc_mecdwgl .But in his github device codes, e8 only support htc_mecul (htc_asia_tw :6.0.1 ) e8d only support htc_mecdug ( htccn_chs_cu :5.0.2 ).
don't waste you time and run risk to damage your device.

You are totally wrong bro,
Code:
set_ro_build_prop(source, "fingerprint", "htc/htccn_chs_cu/htc_mecdug:5.0.2/LRX22G/506306.3:user/release-keys
That was just setting your properties, not the ROM supporting models, actually it did support most of the single and dual sim variant, make sure you did everything right and have the correct firmware.

This is very rude, why don't you make your own ROM?

This is completely wrong lol, that's init scripts not the actual supporting device models.
I just tell what i found, no lie. We trusted you, flashed your ROM,then got such result.
1. Yeah, which devices can be supported should be defined in BoardConfig.mk, not init_e8.cpp. But without right properties, then can't recognize phone's baseband .I haven't tested your lineage 17.1, but guess the same, no signal phone stopping, someone already reported.
2. So hot and can't boot into recovery once flashed ROM, should be kernel's problem. I uses fastboot to earse recovery partition & reflashed other boot.img and twrp 3.3 ,then can boot into recovery again. I also can't flash RUU in previous status.
3. It's so hard to build rom for e8 now, we all knew that. But errors are there, clearly not have been fully check codes & tested on devices, may damage device.
So why we should trust you? Maybe it can runs well in some devices , but you should not tell it can support devices that you haven't tested yet.
Once supported , it should be working smoothly & no big errors , but not like your builds.
Here it is my build of lineage-17.1 for m8Sw .

I have this on 17.1 too:
After installation it works fine. Performance is ok.
I dont know is this related to lockscreen or playback. Maybe something else. But this example works for me, if i play a song and lock/unlock phone a few times in a row. After unlocking phone is freezed for 2 sec, sometimes more. Lock/unlock/ freezed again.
And 2 things i notice. Nfc option in gray. So i cant even on/off (dual sim).
And there are no performance settings. Just extreme power saving.
Maybe its just me.
Sorry for my English btw. And thanks for your work.
And i clean installed and record for better understanding what im talking about. 3 times lock/unlock with no problem. Then go to music and this is what happening. Its not everytime like this. But something causing this lag.

I can't ensure that performance is good enough on such an old device, but regarding NFC issues,
can you give me your detail information of your variant? like CID or original model and it would be
nicer to have a stock rom backup or RUU of your variant, thanks!

Unable to Set Screen Lock
Flashed the files according to the instructions, the vendor is amazing (thanks a lot) however when i try to set a screen lock i get "Screen Lock was already changed. Try again with the new screen lock." and my lock screen type automatically becomes swipe. I factory reset my phone again, as well as did everything from start since i thought i went somewhere wrong but i still get this error. Any help would be appreciated.
Im using Havoc-Os 3.6 (The 13 Jun build iirc) with pico gapps.

Hey @Astrako, I wanna address this issue as well... Firstly, I've been using your crDroid build from the day you posted it... and it's fabulous....everything works perfectly and flawlessly....no sound issues, nothing..... The screen on time and standby time has drastically improved.... A lots of thanks for this Gsi build... But when I tried other Android 10 arm64 A/B GSIs, using the H-vendor, all worked fine, except the sounds and let me clear that only the call volume is working , but the media, notification, and alarm sound doesn't work. The second issue is with the screen lock. Nothing other than swipe is allowed and gives an error "Screen lock was already changed" whenever I try to change it. Please tell how to fix it... Thanks in advance for your attention . I am looking for your reply.

Found a fix for SM-J701X speaker not working
Hey, after thinkering for a couples hours, i found the problem with the speaker not working with this vendor on the SM-J701X. :victory::victory:
In the .zip archive the Mixer_Path.xml is missing from H\device\j7velte\vendor\etc\. The one already in H-VENDOR_V1.0.zip\vendor\etc\ has the speaker commented everywhere.
After adding it, reflashing gsi and the H-Vendor it's working.
I'll leave a link to the Mixer_Path.xml i used if you dont have it already.

Am I understanding well ? I need to:
- flash a custom recovery.img (--no-reboot)
- format data partition,
- clean flash (full wipe) an arm64 A/B GSI.img (don't reboot),
- flash H-Vendor.zip,
- then reboot.
No more steps ? (I don't need gapps)
Thanks in advance.
P.S.: may I use first your repartitioner script ?

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Don't use recent builds or you can get in some issues. I tested all in 9.1.0.200 build.
If you are getting "device not certified" issue in gapps check this: https://www.technobaboy.com/2020/03...k if your device, your device is not certified
Or just install bromite webview.
Cool, where's the device trees?
Hi! Is factory reset with stock recovery still needed?
Edit : yes is needed
BUG : webview is missing , solved by installing it with apk , device is not certified by google play

Hey I tried to install the unofficial build lineageos 16.0 and then gapps micro, but when It boots I can do almost nothing with my phone because it says "this device doesn't have Google certification", what do I have to do? And when will lineage OS 17 be released officially?

Amazing. I've been using Lineage OS on my Samsung Galaxy Pro tablet for about 12 or so months now and it's been fantastic. Can't wait to get it onto my phone ASAP.
On EMUI V4A it was impossible.
Hi, on lineage os could we install V4A without any problem?
I usually dont reply but for this thread my friend, I cannot do. I was not expecting lineage support after months of inactivity in this forum. I've been checking this thread everyday since you posted it and I can't wait for the official build. I really appreciate what you are doing. Keep up the good work! :good:
Pardon my ignorance but i seem to be unable to find any pre-compiled .img's
I take it this is because of the relative recent introduction of the "Huawei P20 Lite" phone into the LineageOS device tree?
Or am i totally missing something here? If not, i take it i need to compile a system image myself then...
Edit: Aye right, literally seconds after posting this question i discovered the sourceforge link with the "old", "unofficial" image... Guess i'm partially blind or something. But the question of if there are already any official pre-compiled images available still stands, so i'll keep this up. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

after you register you device , i waited a couple of minutes then i added my user account in google chrome(i installed it using adb intall) and i was able to download apps from the play store
Hope it works for you

This thread is for the Official builds, I will close the unofficial thread. The first post lists the lineageos GitHub for the sources where the kernel source code can be found, I will add some more details regarding that in first post.
Greetings, Arian.
Hi everybody,
First, thank you NeoArian and other contributors for your great work. Just a question : I have no experience with Lineage recovery. What is the differences between Lineage recovery and TWRP ? What are the pros and cons ? If I try Lineage recovery, is it easy to go back to TWRP ? Without a full install ?
Thank you for your reply.

Thank you for the confirmation, Arian. Please close the old unofficial thread at your earliest convenience and we will be good to do on that front. Regarding the sources, yes, I see the link to the LOS GitHub, but I'll appreciate if you link the kernel repository (and if possible the device tree and vendor tree, if applicable) instead of the single LOS GitHub link.
Thanks for your work!

Thank you very much NeoArian for your official build of LineageOS 17.1
I have installed it this morning and have only noticed that the rear camera is not working (the front one is working normally).
I have tested it with the bundled camera app and with Footej camera.
Maybe my z3c is dying so is this happen to someone else?

Hello NeoArian
at first id like to thank you for keeping this device alive
second i wanted to ask how can i use this method again to use wifi in middle east
the error says : wifi-service.odex has no dex files
I really appreciate your hard work
Thanks a lot
Edit : Nevermind
Thanks for rom Again
Upgrade from 16.0 via TWRP.
For my case: Camera (front/back), Mic, NFC, Bluetooth and GPS works without any issues so far. I wish I could help with some logs but it feels already so stable. I'm so baffled that devices like the Z3C with 2GB is running so fast and reliable with the latest Android.... except their 3.5 jacks of course
Abandoned from the company and kept alive by the community.
Thanks to all involved and especially thanks for maintaining @NeoArian
Best regards
Hey,
Could someone tell me how to revert back to stock ROM? Cause LOS changes partitions structure and I can't restore my backup.
BTW. Snap 801 isn't ARM64 SoC. Well, at least I couldn't install ARM64 GApps

Hey @NeoArian. A little typo here, that can cause serious problems for some newbies here. We should use ARM GApps, NOT ARM64. You probably forgot to modify accordingly your post template while creating new thread, since on the lineage's device wiki it correctly specifies ARM Gapps.
If you don't mind, I would also like to ask about updating from official LOS 16 to 17.1 WITHOUT LOSING DATA. So I read here about the procedure but I am not familiar with adb side loading - I am more of TWRP guy myself . Are these steps correct for updating through TWRP :
Have official LOS 16 + your TWRP recommended for android 9 + GApps nano 9 ARM + Magisk 20.4 installed
Download a new TWRP from here
Download latest LOS 17.1 from here and copy it to device
Download GApps from here and copy it to device
Reboot to fastboot and flash new recovery
Boot to recovery
Flash latest LOS 17.1 on top of old LOS 16
Flash new GApps for android 10 (on top of GApps from android 9?)
Flash magisk (on top of old android 9's magisk installation ?)
Reboot to system
Hopefully everything works xD
Have I missed something, or not? Will it preserve my installed apps, their data and system setting, without crashes on new LOS 17? Thanks in advanced.
Fresh install from a stock ROM 6.0.1 => everything seems to be working very well including rear/front camera and GPS fix very quickly.
Nice work, thanks very much, unbelievable to have android 10 on this device.
Questions :
- Cannot install Magisk. I have last TWRP, installed openGapps without problem. But for Magisk (tried 201. to 20.4) it says "unsupported file format"? The same with Magisk Canary version. Even with the Manager it cannot be installed.
- Is it possible to implement the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation)? It worked with unlocked bootloader under stock 6.0.1 when plugging the Sony MDR-NC31E earphones just before flashing LOS 17.1.
Thanks

Glad to hear that it is working good for you! I didn't use magisk since a while now, unfortunately can't guard you with that. Was that ANC implemented system side?
Hi, big thanks to NeoArian,
all works fine. I come from Stock 291 (German Telekom Brand). I had some trouble after flashing Recovery because I can´t start recovery with "fastboot reboot recovery". In my case always an system reboot appears. After some trys I use the keys (Vol- + Power) to boot in Recovery and all works fine. Please tell this in the install LineageOs on Z3c ( https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/z3c/install )

In fact I change TWRP, I should have installed the wrong one, Magisk is installed now.
About ANC, it is this functionnality, implemented on Z2 and Z3 series only:

Deep sleep is probably not working because of bt wakelock or something like that. It is a known bug for ages with z3c.

Getting support for s10e definitely sounds great, thanks a lot fot the work! What is the typical timeline of merging new devices into the upstream lineageos source? I'd like to go degoogled with microg which is only available for phones that lineageos officially supports. I guess I could compile them both from source myself but then there go the automatic updates.

I decided not to bother with official on 17.1 since official Android 11 release from samsung just came out. I'm only waiting on kernel source so as soon as that is released I can work on 18.1. Once everything is stable I can then push to official.

Hey there friend ! Good work on bringing Lineage to the last great Compact phone!
May I ask, do you have plans enabling VoLTE ? In a lot of countries VoLTE is a must, otherwise you cannot call.
In my country for example, by end of March all phones without VOLTE won't be able to place calls anymore.
Thanks ahead.

I had a lot of difficulty, but eventually got it running. Try downloading and flashing the Android 10 firmware, let it boot up, and then re-flash the Android 10 firmware this time with the TWRP image. Let it do it's thing and reboot system, and then boot into recovery and flash LOS.
To be honest, I'm interested in LOS 18, but running Android 11 firmware with Magisk and a few EdXposed modules is better than LOS 17.
is this a going concern ?
i just almost bought a qualcomm based version but cancelled thinking lineage was a no-go in the american/chinese stock

Where's a stable LOS 19 for SM-G970U?
I'd like to donate towards a fully working LOS 19 (and later), for beyond0qlte.

Amazing... Android 11 for a 2015 device that launched with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. You gotta love XDA and the committed developers like @althafvly who keep development alive for the Osprey/Merlin. Thanks OP for your continued hard work.

@althafvly thanks again for this Android 11 goodness for the Osprey & Merlin. What are your recommendations, if any, as to a suitable GApps package for this ROM?
I haven't used this phone since LineageOS 7.1 because I didn't want to run it with very old security updates, so thanks for building this. I always use my previous phone as a backup,. I did a fresh install and it went flawlessly and it runs great with all my apps. I really like that I could restore the apps from my newer Moto G6 to this phone with my Google Drive backup. For the previous poster, I used the Gapps mentioned by the author.

Can I just update to this build from your previous one without losing my apps, settings and/or gapps? It's been a long time since I messed with ROMs.
Thanks

I would like it to become official and to be able to opt for that rom, since the battery consumption is very high
I recently saw that LineageOS 18.1 is out for nearly 60 devices, can't wait for the release of the official build in LineageOS website for Osprey. Is there any known release date ?

If you find battery consumption on the latest unofficial build is high, chances are, it will still be high if this build becomes official at the moment. AFAIK, there are some things that need to be checked in order for a build to be certified as "Official".

Hey, since the device is really old & we don't see even that the LOS17.1 builds aren't rock solid, I wouldn't hope for 18.1 builds any time before 3-4 months. Also, I've seen people reporting the official 18.1 build are also having some issues for some device... And, as I mentioned above, there are some check boxes that need to be checked in order to gain the "Official" build tag. Hope you'll understand.
New build is up (check OP for download link)
Thanks. Great work.
Installed over previous build with 20201108 OpenGapps 11 without factory reset and booted on the first try in no time. Didn't like my Mirco SD though but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a backup, reformat and restore. Is there a newer build of OpenGapps 11 available?
Also, can't seem to add any widgets to the home screen.
New Build is Up (Gapps Included)
Most things seem to work but I can't seem to get the option to add widgets to the home screen with the long press anymore.
Any news about official lineage 18.1?
I'm using the official LineageOS 17.1 as a daily driver, so shall i upgrade to 18.1 or it still has bugs ?
Is there a specific version of recovery needed to install this, or would latest LOS 17.1 recovery work?
Also, is there a site with all old LOS 17.1 recoveries? LOS site only has links to the latest 4.
Just tested the ROM.
Yes, regarding the booting, first boot after installation took 7.5 minutes... Although subsequent boots take around one minute.
But I stumbled with serious sound problems, which I'd like to ask about here. But first, background:
XT1543 variant.
Began with ancient CyamogenMod 12 (Android 5.1.1), so I had to first find a 6.0.1 stock ROM.
Found it, entered Lineage Recovery -latest version-, formatted all /system, /data and /cache, installed stock ROM, booted it at least once.
Back to recovery, formatted again /system, /data and /cache, and tried installing first LOS 17.1, which is EOL, but latest LOS one which was official. Then installed Gaps pico.
Booted, all good apparently... except no sound.
Digging a bit more, I realized it's the speaker, or loudspeaker, the one not working at all.
Callings do work normally, sound and mic work, but all other multimedia sound don't: Youtube, ringtones, sound files...
However, they do work only when plugging 3.5 mm jack headphones/headsets. Sound is heard through them indeed. But only with them. Unplugging... no sound again.
So then I tried this 18.1 ROM. No dice: exact same problem.
@althafvly :
Can you, or someone else, help with this big issue?
Thanks.

Did it work correctly on CyanogenMod or the stock ROM? Moto G3 has some mechanical issues that may cause things like speaker (though this does not affect all sounds) or camera to not work, perhaps in your case it is not a software problem?
