Hey everybody. We're SEVEN Networks, the company behind AdClear, a VPN based ad blocker that we have a separate DB thread for.
We're in the earliest stages of our newest app, currently codenamed MX. It will create clones of your favorite apps that will have ad blocking natively. We want to eventually extend the capabilities to localization, tracker blocking, and more.
We're starting an initial Alpha test right now and could certainly use some of the help we've grown to rely on from XDA.
Right now the testing is very, very limited. We are supporting Facebook and YouTube ad blocking on Android 9, and YouTube ad blocking on Android 10. All other versions of Android will have varying levels of stability/success (but you're welcome to join). We're trying to get as many bugs and crashes identified as we can find at the moment. I'm more than happy to answer any questions you may have. We're very excited for what this could mean for Android. It's a new way to block ads that we think could be revolutionary.

Thank you very much! We're feeling really optimistic about it, as well as our plan for growth. :good:
We renamed our app from MX to adX. We need more users in our Alpha program to help is make it better.
We are blocking video ads in YouTube. Blocking ads in Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Jams is a free, powerful and elegant music player for Android. Jams used to be a trial/paid app on the Play Store. Due to my lack of adequate free time and other issues, I've decided that I can no longer provide the level of support and active development that paid users expect from a developer. Rather than letting Jams completely die off and abandoning my users, I've open sourced the app and hosted it on GitHub (see link above) to encourage other developers to potentially improve it, use it in their own personal projects, and re-release it to users.
I will still occasionally update this app based on my free time, but it will probably be beta quality code. If you are a developer who's interested in using Jams' current codebase, I encourage you to fork this repository and/or directly contribute to it. If you decide to launch your own fork of Jams on the Play Store, feel free to drop me a line so I can feature it on my GitHub page.
Just want to thank everyone who's supported Jams Music Player over the past year. It's been an awesome experience for me and I really enjoyed receiving feedback from everyone in this subreddit and elsewhere. The app has received a major UI overhaul over the past few weeks and I will be publishing the free version of the app on the Play Store in the next few weeks once I get any existing kinks ironed out. Hopefully I'll be able to find more time again in the near future to work on this app full-time.

Tl;dr: I no longer have enough free time to develop Jams in a way that justifies asking people to pay for it. The app is now open source and a free version will be released on Google Play in the next 3-4 weeks.
is ACEMUSIC is based on your code?

unable to find any mention but even whole UI is same as of your code
Yeap, that player is definitely based off my codebase. The developer did mention my name in the "Special Thanks" section of their post.

Hey,
I heard lots of requests from people wanting a solution to disable distracting apps on their phone. There are already some solutions for PC, Mac and iOS, but not many for Android.
That's why I'm developing Block&Lock. It's an app that lets you block apps for specified timeframes or always, so you don't procrastinate anymore using social media and such during work .
At the same time you can lock applications that contain private data, so you can for example hand your phone to someone without him browsing your photos.
Both feature will be integrated in one App.
The website is now live, you can subscribe to the newsletter to get each and every update! But particularly: You get the paid PRO version for FREE by subscribing: bit.ly/block-lock-app
Beta users will also be chosen from the mailing list.
Follow the official twitter account as well: twitter.com/blocklockapp.
Thanks!
Best regards!
Hi guys! I'll try to keep it short. I've developed an app called "Block This" for Android. It's essentially an ad blocker based on VPN/DNS. I manage my own DNS servers + the development of the Android app.
I'm not gonna lie, there's a lot of bugs arising and basically no money involved as the app is currently FREE to use. I do think its a great app though, and I want to see it grow and spread over other systems like iOS & Windows with time. The app currently has about 50 000 active users (they were a lot more but the app got removed from the Play Store so distribution is harder now).
With this thread I basically want to check whether people would be interesting in devoting some time and helping me on this project if I decide to open source it.
If you are a dev and think this could be an interesting side project for you please drop in a few works down below. Thanks!
Kind Regards,
Sava Georgiev

I have been using the app for a few weeks now.
This is a good app that has some promise. It works well against several of the well known ad SDKs. Especially if you are using the free version of TuneIn. I've not had time to test it fully, but so far, I like it. It could also be developed into a no-root firewall app. That could help it get back into playstore. But going open source, it would be a good fit for f-droid. And of course, here at XDA.
Looks like a good application. I have not tried it yet. But will try on my phone ( Note 2 - Cyanogenmod 12 )
New information ! The developer has now taken the project Open Source. Here is the link : https://github.com/ggsava/block-this
On my xt897 running CM12.1, my battery lasts soooooooooo much longer with this app.:good:
Great app @ggsava, I'm using this app on my non rooted galaxy note 7 and so far so good.
I try your apps, seems your vpn from france,my traffic route to server in france. It's it save and secure?

It is as safe and secure as possible - those are things I care about the most personally as well. You are however right, currently there are only servers available in France, but I'm starting to rework the back-end soon and will start adding more power to the DNS servers, making them available closer to people's locations. The plan is to have a couple of servers across Europe, NA and Asia in order to ensure maximum speed.
Looking good, Will try this app
Privacy Browser is a web browser focused on user privacy. It currently uses Android's WebView to render content.
It is released under the GPLv3+ license and is available via F-Droid. APKs can also be downloaded directly from stoutner.com.
Features:
Full screen browsing mode.
Integrated ad blocker.
Tor Orbot proxy support.
Privacy Browser makes it easy to specify JavaScript, cookie, and DOM storage settings by domain and change them on the fly.

Privacy Browser has been out for a while, and I receive a fair amount of feedback via email from the user base, but I thought it would be useful to hear XDA thinks.
Nice work on this so far. I have been keeping an eye on it for a bit after finding it on F-Droid. Out of curiosity, what are the differences between the free and pay versions?
Difference Between Versions
The only difference between the versions is that the Free version has a banner ad across the bottom of the screen. The purpose of the free version is so that people can try out all the features of the app without having to spend any money. They can then choose to purchase the paid version if they are using a repository that accepts payments or download the standard version without cost from F-Droid or stoutner.com.

Cool, thanks! If I'm understanding you properly, does that mean the F-Droid version is the same as the paid version listed here?

That is correct.
Great! Where would you like feature requests and bug reports to go? Is this thread good, or would you prefer them on your website?

I think the best place would be to create a report on redmine.stoutner.com, but you are welcome to post them here if that is easier for you and I will transfer them to Redmine.

Hello,
I'm Marc Aurel and I'm working with some other developers on the Volla Phone with a custom Android without Google Apps and Play Services. In addition to privacy protection the focus is a new simplified user experience beyond the app centered paradigm of current mobile operating systems.
We'll soon publish our code to invite developers to join the project or just have a look, what we are doing. We want to invite developers to our 2nd community days from 6 to 7 of June with a hackathon. You can find the announcement of the event with a live stream right here in our blog post. https:// volla.online /blog/files/community-days-2020.html
As a developer I will have some questions and I'm happy to answer some questions. I work on the launcher of the Volla OS, implemented with Qt, by the way. So I may can help or exchange experiences with developers working with this technology.
Very nice to see a phone that ships without any Google stuff out of the box. As many users switch to open source operating systems to avoid bloatware and manufacturer stuff sniffing their privacy this is a great project!
I hope the announced hackathon will result in many good ideas and approaches to improve the OSs compatible with the phone (as it also will support Ubuntu touch).
I'm looking forward to hear the results!

Thanks you for your motivating replay. We'll soon publish our source code of the Android based Volla OS after we have already published our source code for the Ubuntu Touch port in GitHub..
Beyond a discussion on measures to improve data protection, for which short presentations are welcome, we would like to explore ways to improve the user experience in the hackathon. One challenge will be the implementation of a system-wide sidebar that can be displayed with a border gesture. I'll post screenshots as soon I have the rights to post links.
Here the announcement for the community day:
https://volla.online/blog/files/community-days-2020.html
We have prepared an event page, that will be updated soon. You find it on volla.online/vcd2020 for Volla Community Days 2020. We hope to have participants of the Android developer community for our hackathon.
