Headphones not working (11)? - OnePlus 8 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone!
Today I forgot my BT headphone so I tried to use the bundled USB-C headphones.
Plugged them in, got the headphones icon in the status bar for a second... and that was it. Turning OTG on, off, rebooting, nothing works it's like they're not here! Am I missing something?
Running the 11 OB2.
Thanks!
PS also tried another pair of USB-C headphones I have here, no soap. OP8 headphones work fine on my PC.

Nobody? Can someone at least confirm it's working for them so I know it's just me?

That's what I use too, though on the Beta 2 (they're the same though, aren't they, more or less?). Can you tell me the steps you've followed?
Thanks anyhow!!!

No stable is different (not very much but enough to make my headphones work), because it's stable. They wouldn't create a stable chanel if there wasn't any difference. Well I didn't flash Open Betas to begin with lol.
Read this:
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/how-to-go-back-from-beta-to-stable.512314/
Try this :
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...-or-custom-recovery-without-data-loss.479265/
To go back to Stable, you'll have to clean wipe (full data and cache wipe), so if you don't want to do that just wait for the next Open Beta and report the bug.
Basically you it the same way you've gone from stable to beta the first time.
Good luck :good:

Haha well that's debatable, OP has a tradition of labeling the last, good-enough-Beta as 'Stable' and moving on, but it's a bit off topic here
If it's something that was fixed in Stable I guess I'll wait till the next beta, it's not a huge issue ATM.
Thanks again mate

im on cdma desire as well, im willing to help out wherever i can. im trying a inc port but im having issues with wifi and bluetooth and sensor isnt working.
Test build has been uploaded
Running it right now. Thanks AdamG.

Sorry for questions.. just out of curiosity..

Completely different, America is CDMA, mostly everywhere else is GSM, different board design unfortunately, so needs different libs/kernels etc..
What are you getting yourself into adam lol. I think you need to ease your workload our you will kill yourself!
Maybe less frequent updates to open desire now its at its most stable?
Good news here..
I was having a little bugginess with the stock launcher but launcher pro is working flawlessly. Sdcard, bluetooth, and camera aren't working. I tried some other camera apps but they all go to a black screen and semi-freeze up the phone. It also has "roaming indicator on" as the network but if I go into phone info, it says I am not roaming. Trackball is working fine as does track ball to wake and unlock. Graphics are still a little glitchy. Otherwise, it's working great. Battery went 2% an hour (maybe a bit more) with minimal use.
WiFi works on this one?

Actually, WiFi is working fine for me.
Is the download link currently broken? I was hoping to test tonight.
Also...if mass storage doesn't work, how would we go about reverting to our backed-up ROM if this should not work for us?

You do it in recovery, I'm hoping to push a new build soon with some bug fixes, its going to take time to get this working fully seeing as I dont have a uscc device to hand.
Seriously Adam, you're crazy to take on yet another workload
We all greatly appreciate your devotion, time and work put into making OpenDesire.
Let's all donate a yearly supply of beer to Adam

Awesome. I'll keep watching. I'll definitely download it and try to report any bugs that I find.
A couple more bugs: you cannot force Google Voice to be your default voicemail. I think this may have to do with "Roaming Indicator On" showing up as the carrier. Also, trackball to wake only works while usb is plugged in.

[ROM] Experimental CM7 Build with WildFire S Libs [3/21/2011]

I am looking for some testers for an experimental CM7 rom. It has some files from the soon to be released WildFire S. I am looking for feedback on if everything works the way it did with previous cm7 builds. Audio/Phone Calls/Video/Camera. Also GPS.
Newer Updated to include lastest code from cyanogenmod including FM.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10166016/ExpLiberty-03212011-cm7.0.0-RC2.zip
old
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10166016/NewLibupdate-cm-7.0.0-RC2-Liberty-KANG-signed.zip
I advise doing a nandroid in case.
This includes my new kernel as well. Please test it as much as you can and report back. I want to update our part of cyanogenmod 7 if all goes well.
Thanks for testing.
downloading will test it out.

Just curious what this ROM has that the others don't. Does it have a new cool UI? Added features? Would love to be a tester, just would like to know what to look for. Thanks!

OK, done downloading. I flashed over CM 7 nightly 11.
Audio worked playing music and videos.
Phone worked calling out both on ear piece and speaker phone. Phone received incoming calls and mic and ear piece worked.
Camera worked.
Hope this helps.
Video recording worked.
same thing but it was a clean install.
except when i was done recording a video from the camera app to the gallery(thumbnail) the video said it was unable to play but actually going into the gallery it played but it recorded a bit choppy(with oc going & its kind of dark)
Aw....and here I thought the devs had forgotten all about the little Aria. Color me excited

I read the title. It doesn't help. What's it offer that current CM7 doesn't?
just newer libs(libraries for audio/video im guessing) that came from the wildfire S rom dump
Will a full port of the ROM from the Wildfire S eventually be possible?
If these libs are working that's a good sign...overall hardware is pretty similar, same CPU, bit more RAM, but that shouldn't stop it. I'd personally love the new Sense plus Gingerbread
Did clean installation here. All seems pretty sweet.
Sent from my Liberty using Tapatalk
didnt do a clean install
installed on top of cm7 - 11
audio / camera/video / phone all worked as expected on my Aria

this Aria (test phone) has only been 1. rooted and runs 2. Liberated B003
do you recommend a full wipe (order of wipe?), factory, dalvik, et al and does this require separate setup/install of google apps ?
thanks.

[ROM][4.4.2] MIUI V5 4.9.21 - Digitalhigh Edition

Oh snap! It's that time of year again, kids.
What time, pappa Digitalhigh, what time?
Why, it's MIUI time, children!
What is MIUI?
MIUI is a Chinese ROM. Well, not just any ROM, but the most widely used ROM in the damned country.
Essentially, it's *kind of* an IOS clone...but not really. Or maybe like, if Android and iOS got drunk enough one night to get busy, and that resulted in some kind of bastard wunderOS that has a lot of the sexy sensibility of iOS, minus all the stick-up-the-buttedness that comes with it. It has a full suite of custom software, is 100% themeable, and gets weekly updates.
And it's fast.
Now, as this is my first ever release of this for the M8, please be patient as I get settled into MIUI on this device. As the days and weeks progress, I guarantee you I will be spanking in every goodie I know about for MIUI, and some others I've learned about since then.
In testing so far, I know audio, camera, video recording, phone, and 3g/LTE data work. 3G may be a bit spotty as this is based on GPE and I haven't gotten the data drop fix in yet. But it works, and it works smoothly!
I have yet to test bluetooth, headphones, etc...but this is based on the GSM version by @JTJTJ here:

And as usual, I'll be fleshing out the thread and adding more stuff as time goes on...
I'll take this...
This one too...
Thank you, been waiting a long time

Will this work with the new firmware.
sent from me to you.
Flashing now I'll give you an update on what works and what doesn't. Very excited and was waiting for thing for VZW
Edit 1
--------------
Make sure you do a full wipe before flashing rom including internal storage. Cell coverage is spotty and creating a miui account from set up does not work. Connection to WiFi takes a while the first time but eventually connects. Headphones, speakers and bluetooth do work for me, how ever certain parts of the ROM are still in chinese
Edit 2
_______
After Flashing Gapps google keyboard crashes and no longer works
Edit 3
----------------------
Everything is currently working flawless after enabling LTE, nav bar, and a keybaord.

Wondering the same thing. Do you if there is an option for this already as I know that the gsm version has been floating around for a couple weeks so they may have come up with a nav bar.
And what did you do for a keyboard. I just adb pushed swiftkey and installed that

Damn I miss miui. Last build I used was on my droid x. Can't wait to give this a whirl. What's with the floating back button? That may annoy me. Def, we should have the full set of soft keys instead if possible.
How's it running for you?
Awesome, thanks for this! I haven't used MIUI for ages.
BTW, I love your OPs, always good for a laugh!
It's pretty solid I'd give it a 8/10 for a first build however 4G is not working at all for me. 3G works great along with wifi, I haven't noticed any other problems and am liking the ROM. Does take some getting used to though.

Tesla Rom lovers?

Just letting everybody know that their has been a Tesla ROM developed for Clark. Their is a test version only right now but its still bad ass! Go to android file host and search it. I'm sure we will see it posted to XDA sooner then later.
Great news!
I really liked their rom and used it on my Samsung Galaxy S2.
It was awesome!
But I'm already used to moto display, chop chop for flashlight And double twist for camera...
Will be hard to switch to AOSP for me ?

Chop chop and double twist are working on it. I've been running it for the last few days now, and it's my favorite ROM. The 03/12 build is better than the 03/13 build. The 03/13 build was chewing up my battery.

I tried it for a day and it seemed very unstable and buggy. But so was Broken OS, and PureNexus. I don't know if it's my phone, or just the ROMs becoming more unstable than they were in February. I haven't found a DD yet.

Yeah :/ I had really high hopes. At times it seemed great. I wished there was a way to turn their theme from holo blue to red! I've been using black and red themes lately. I wish I could remember the specific issues I had with this one. I know Broken would be working fine, then just crash, and not power up again. Pure nexus only had 3/4 of the features working, and had all the notofication and scrolling lag that the CM ROMs have. Who knows. Could be my device.

I'm leaning toward it being your phone. Broken ran great for me as did Pure, with the exception of the music bug.

I apologize, but I can't honestly remember now. I can't remember if that was the one that would have apps close on me, or open on me without any input, or why I used the word unstable and buggy. If I say something is unstable and buggy, it typically means I had significant issues, beyond the normal one or two things that just don't work. But I unfortunately cannot remember.
I would like to note however, I noticed that restoring my apps and data with TiBu seemed to be causing some of my issues with the ROMs from that timeframe. Because I flashed the same purenexus build twice, once with restoring apps and data, and once by reinstalling everything from the play store, and noticed a huge difference. Using TiBu was much buggier, on the very same build. So it might have been that.
Link??
Restoring system data with TB can cause all sorts of weird issues. I strictly use it to restore apps/data for everything else, but not system data.
Sometimes it helps to wipe internal storage too when moving from one rom type to another (ie, stock based to aosp).
I haven't tried tesla rom yet, but may give it a shot in the future.

Beta worth it?

Pretty simple question. The beta builds rarely get talked about. I don't know how compatible they will be with any of the "tweaks" I like. But with Android 11 in sight I would like to start partaking in beta builds.
Thoughts? Experiences?
Thanks in advance.

Hmm. I'm thinking I'll wait until we get closer to Android 11. I'm comfy on 10.3.1 right now. Sounds like it's worth paying attention to changelogs though.

I find the beta to be snappier and faster in response time, but it lacks a certain smoothness that the normal release has. If you're a performance junkie it's worth it to upgrade and use a custom kernel.
Well, I let my phone make the decision for me, and said the build number is older on beta 9 so no go. I think this cements it for me, I'll be waiting for beta 10 and then I'll make the switch. Thanks again guys.
