What are these information's and privacy? - Security Discussion

What are these information's in attached picture?
Like TUV Austria, S0417 or 50417, Ok biobased and on some phone IMEI and SN etc?
And are all Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra models have same these info like TUV Austria, S0417 or 50417, Ok biobased and on some phone IMEI and SN etc?
And are these information's relate with privacy I mean we should not share with anyone and if relate to privacy then why?

Hi all.
I live in china mainland. People who sell smuggled phones said that they had got S4 moldel manufactured in june(supposed to be sold in Europe). And this has been proved.
Would you please check your moldle(S3 or S4) and date of production. I wonder whether HTC will continue to produce S4 models for europe market.
The third number of SN is for the year(eg 2 for 2012),the fourth for the month(1 to c maybe), the fifth for the day.
Thanks a lot.
how to indentify the date of production in the phone?

You can check the sn code as above (in setting --- about phone---device information maybe).
or you can input your imei code on the website(219.80.249.25/IMEIQuery/IMEIQuery.aspx?ct=zh-CN) to check the date of production , it's in chinese, but easy to use.
iF it helps!

Why doesn't http://219.80.249.25/ take me to an HTC site? I would be very hesitant to enter IMEI and Serial Number information to a site that is not specifically a part of HTC or behind some sort of login wall.

Might've made a noob mistake entering my SN and IMEI there. Site traces to some office services website in Taiwan. Doesn't look to be affiliated with HTC.

I'm definitely not entering my imei and serial nr. on a site behind some vague ip address. No thanks.

Off context, there are multiple sites where one enters imei number to validate the phone status, are those safe? the site is indeed linked some way to HTC Database else how come it gives corrrect market region and manufacture date? manufacture date could be algorithemic but the targeted market? Am a NOOB hence kindly explain how lethal is sharing imei number online, what can be the circumstances? Aren't we already exhibiting our whereabouts and online status our life online intentionally, else spyed upon (fed agencies)? Our emails are so prone to hack attacks these days, emails linked with contacts, messages, schedules etc! Now how dangerous is sharing imei or serial nuber?
By sharing your IMEI, a stolen device could be given your IMEI which may or may not effect you depending on the country you're in. No idea how likely this is...
I haven't used the site but I did find the following site: http://htc.3rdchannel.com.tw/HTC-IMEIQuery/IMEIQuery.aspx?ct=en-us
It's in English (the original link given can also be changed by altering the zh-CH) and just an IP, I'm still not convinced it's "safe" though.

P3113 diference between XAR and XAC

On samobile web site, on firmware section, there is a xar and xac firmware, somenody jnows the difference?
Sent from my GT-P3113 using Tapatalk HD
The CSC is the part of your rom that is specific to the local carrier, e.g. VOD for Vodafone. A list can be found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Csc) but is doesn't seem to have XAR or XAC.

XAR = Cellular South
XAC = N/A
Anyone figure this out?
There still hasn't been an answer as to exactly what the difference between XAR and XAC is.... Anyone figure this out yet?

The only thing I'm coming up with is XAR is possibly non modem or USA based and XAC is modem based and outside the USA

XAR is the version for USA. XAC is the version for Canada.
CSC explained, such as it is, incuding what XAR and XAC mean
Stock OTA update or roms (generally speaking) has to match your specific csc on your devices stock firmware build.
The three letters after the model number signifies: 4 meanings, all valid indicating very different things. The hard part is deciphering what your CSC means and how that effects primarily your ability to upgrade correct software, whats bundled in it and maybe a hint why your not getting a OTA update.
1) the country or region(s) a model was bundled for (often csc for a tablet identity) XAC Canada, XAR Cellular south of USA
2) The carrier product code is firmware bundeled by every cell provider . Each has thier own and a different csc code even when a parent company is servicing a different country or region(s) within a country, Think Virgin Mobile in Europe, UK, USA etc... .
3) The consumer specification code . These are either bundle software by options.. of say Samsung G3 vrs Samsung G3 lite, or Italian vrs English, or Both.... consumer type, app and use options... basically limitations or exceptions between software bundles for same basic model depending on where its being sold. You know, bells, whistles, cultures, even age, sex and race user groups can require important distinct features between standard stock builds multiplied by makes and models. Targeted software, use, design..
4) The customer product code. So you bought a device off web, on sale, not affiliated with any carrier, specific country or region, bulk generic bundles. Eg. travelling abroad with your tablet bought generically over here or buying a GS5 in Tokyo airport on your way home to USA.
Why is that a problem? Depends where you physically are, with a device from? With certain customisations or exceptions and how does OTA connect via unfamiliar local data access but foriegn from the csc perspective. USA CARRIER but Japenese csc...
I suck at explaining but read article I reference down below.... Burners are probably in this work around .
Be certain the build+model+csc is same before choosing a flash rom or upgrading your stock firmware. Odin, Kies etc will likely refuse to flash/sync/upgrade if there is a mismatch in csc more often than any other reason
Here is a helpful, current and informative blog by Wilma Dee that explains csc much better, some great work arounds, csc troubleshooting and major carrier code plus country code lists,
Since I'm new here, I dont know her, I wont post a link but I really feel this paper is worthy of XDA scrutiny and appreciation. Search Google with this title, posted April 15 2014.
How To Change the CSC Code on Samsung Galaxy S5
These are not complete lists, they are Samsung specific, GS5 specific. as she lists them and its alot.
Are the country codes at least unified between all brands? I dont know but not likely.
There are different brands, with differently configured tabs and cells, in different countries and several distinct regions within each country, many data carriers with subsiduary carrier companies in diferent countries, regions, languages, configurations etc etc etc.
No wonder answering what does CSC stands for, means for your device, lists of codes is so hard to do .

SM-R765T or Verizon... SM-R765V
So why N and F Version?

thanks your kindly reply very much, Mr. agree.
I had taken much time on eBay, to find what's the meaning of the seller's description "factory unlocked". Finally I got I need a "Carrier Unloced" Gear S3 Frontier LTE to DL international esim profile, but most of seller's "factory unlocked" is dishonest and their devices equal "Carrier LOCKED".
Bcz different BANDS of tele-providers,
Unfortunately, sm-r765A(at&t) and sm-r765T(T-Mobile) can't using docomo, and I am happy to find out sm-r765F has same BAND and can download other provider's profile, yesterday.
I readed the blog again, it's sounds that DOCOMO of esim is supported by a foreign G&D company. Maybe this means their profile is common and can be use for other device they don't support bcz not on sale. (ONLY wifi version by docomo)
Thanks( ̄□ ̄!!

SM-N9860(HK) or SM-N986N(KR)?

SM-N986N(KR) is being 80$ cheaper than the hong kong version. Should I go for the korean one or hong kong one? Is there any significant difference between the two? Which one usually gets the updates first? Do both of them not support eSim?
HK version as it is dual sim...KR is single sim... No e-sim on HK version., Can't say for the KR, yet it probably won't have e-sim...HK is carrier free, while depending on the version of KR you buy it will have some carrier specific apps installed...Also Samsung Pay has been verified to work in different countries on the HK, while the KR version normally requires a Korean sim for Samsung Pay....Updates just depends, probably KR first but updates from Samsung has been good these days.... As you are be here, there are other threads explaining things extensively, please check those before creating any new threads. I have the HK version and using it in Japan with no problems.

This is a very in-depth thread covering the in and out of the HK version.... If you can swing the extra $80, then it's highly advise to go with the HK version... You also need to verify the frequency bands supported by the HK/KR to ensure they provide the proper coverage for you please cellular service.... frequencycheck.com is a good reference site

Absolutely love the phone and the battery life for me had been great.... Depending on your mobile provider you get in Japan, will affect battery somewhat, yet I think carrier aggregation really helps out..I have NTT Docomo and no issues at all when though the phone over covers 3 out of 5 bands... You have to let the battery optimization work for about a week... As time goes along the phone will learn your patterns and you will see more and more improvements to the battery life... People expect stellar out of the box without realizing the smart tech and learning curve the battery has to go through... I'm able to use Samsung Pay with the HK model in Japan using US cards, so that's a very big win... Any other Japan specific questions just let me know and be sure to use that "thanks" button in these forums, it goes a long way
Samsung pay works flawlessly with my N986O (HK version) BUT. I can't add my UK loyalty cards as it is expecting HK retailers and shops, but both credit and debit cards added and worked 100% fine, you'll be registered with Samsung Pay HK
Edit 1: Far as loyalty cards go, adding a card not on the list, i.e manually seems to work fine
Has anyone had the chance to test out the Korean N986N in the UK? What's the experience so far?
I upgraded from the Exynos UK to the HK N9860, but I'm getting disappointed in how slow the firmware updates are. It's still on ATH1, while other devices have gone through ATH3/5/9 and now on ATI2/3/5/6.
The Korean N986N looks like it's been getting updates regularly. I was thinking of returning the N9860 and purchasing the N986N, and flash it with KOO unbranded CSC.
Anyone done a similar thing and can give their experience? 5G working OK (UK)? Does the phone still have bloatware on KOO CSC? Does KOO have Smart Call (Hiya)?
Thanks!

Same question here. Would the N986N ever be able to flash another region firmware & CSC in the future? Or it would forever be locked to KR? Thanks!
I'm a totally new Samsung user and regretted not being aware and search about this before getting the KR version, just because it seems to be the cheapest of all Snapdragon variants

It's KTC, KT Telecom. I have Package Disabler Pro and have disabled most of the KT bloatware. But some stuff are deeply integrated into the OS like Korea localization content in apps & menus, Samsung Daily cards, carrier services in Settings and all. I'm hoping to get rid of them.
Also the inability to use Samsung Pay. At first i thought as long as i buy a variant that's not one of the official models for my country. I won't be able to use Samsung Pay. And that is a trade off I'm willing to make when it comes to performance (my country is Exynos). What I didn't know was there areother Snapdragon variants that can be flashed with an unrestricted CSC from my country and work with Samsung Pay.

Instead of trying to disable the Korean apps, have you tried changing the CSC to the unbranded KOO variant like the user above? I changed my HK N9860 from TGY to BRI, I'm sure you should be able to do the same and change it from KTC to KOO and it will remove all those apps and Korean settings.

To clarify I am in Korea with a Korean simcard in my phone. I made no csc modifications.
There is a hiya service but no settings for that or spam calls.
I don't use 5G service but it should be running fine out of the box on any of the carriers here.
As far as volte outside of korea, given the state of the world it might be a bit before I test that.

SM-N9860 newbie - which CSC?

Hi
My SM-9860 is on its way to me and I am trying to get my head round the options. I think it will have TGY but I am confused about whether I should change this. I will be using it primarily in Latin America (where we don't have 5G yet).
Is someone willing to explain the benefits/disadvantages/differences of TGY, BRI or CHC, which, I believe, are the options available to me? I'm not really bothered about call-recording, which, I understand, is a difference. I definitely want Google Play services, though.
Edit: I also don't care about Samsung Pay.

There's a whole thread about explaining the differences between chc and bri and tgy. I've seen it and even participated in that thread.
People that want call recording use chc. Bri and tgy are almost identical and I never noticed anything different when using samkey to change my previous note 20 ultra from tgy to bri.
I hope the sm-n9860 supports carrier aggregation for you in your region. Because it didn't in N America for me.
My sm-n985F note 20 ultra non 5G did support partial carrier aggregation for me in USA however.
