capadase fibre cover for galaxy sl i9003 costs rs.40-50 in local shops .. dont go for online..its costlier
ya but the capdase cover sucks. It keeps slipping in my hand and the logo fell of the back of the cover after a few months
Capdase review
Bought this Capdase few months back for Rs.60/- I had bought the matte finish. And yes! The capdase logo wears out very soon & major drawback of this case is after few days it catches dust near the edges of the phone. My phone fell a few times around 4 feet height. Unfortunately nothing happened. Recommended.

the case isn't that much of a looker but ya it gives good protection
i just use my i9003 without cover now as the case makes it look fat
Anyone else notice that the matte finish on the rear cover is coming off their black Xperia L?
I ordered a red cover and im using that so im not pushed, but its not as "grippey" as the matte finish on the black maybe as its not an OEM part.
Yeah! I noticed on my white colour. The back cover part which is always in contact with surface had no more matte finishing. It is now rough surfac....

Yes - I went on holiday and took my Xperia L which was 2 days old - first two days were OK then as the week went on all the matte rubbery coating on the back of my black L started flaking off (original battery cover) - it's now black gloss on all the edges where it has come into contact with my fingers surrounded by flakes of matte coating. I can only assume that it was caused by some sort of chemical reaction with either the sun lotion I had on (Ultrasun Professional Protection Gel Formula) or my perspiration or the heat (low 40c) or a combo of them all. I kept the phone in a clean dry trouser pocket when not in use. It now looks a right heap of junk with all the coating flaking off. I am hoping it is because of a reaction to one of the above as I am worried that the same may happen again if I splash out on a new back.
I'd be interested of other people's experiences with this rubberised coating battery cover.
Been using this phone for a month. It comes into contact with my sweat everyday. The matte finish isnt coming off. So I guess it is something to do with sunlotion or direct exposure ti strong sunlight

Has anyones coating on the sandstone black started to peel off? Mine started to shed its coating on the corners and edge of the phone. Got my phone early August. Build date was late July.

Are you using a polycarbonate case?
I got mine around the same time as the OP but mine still looks like new. I dont use any covers, just a screen protector.

Interesting...I've taken on/off my TPU cases 50-100 times now and my coating hasn't come off yet. I've been scared to use PC cases because of all the reports that they scratch the coating off.

Sometimes friction between the back cover and protective case leads to wear out.
My OPO is arriving this weekend...

It's not that often that I remove it that it should cause such wear and tear.
Using Xtreme Guard back protector no problems here.

Im using a Ringke Fusion case, my phone is more than 1 month old and still perfect thanks to the case, also after few drops still fine
I've had it for a month with no case and the back is still perfect. I've dinged the metal ring around the screen twice though from my jacket zipper when taking it out of my pocket.
Using a case or going naked?
So I was wondering if anyone else prefers to use their Honor 8 without a case. I usually have at least a case if not a screen protector as well, on my primary device. I really like the feel of the Honor 8 without a case so I've been using it like that. What about you: case, screen protector, both or none?
I just got my Honor 8 on Monday evening, so I haven't received the case and screen protector that I ordered yesterday. However, I found an Honor 8 TPU case at Best Buy that I picked up until the better one arrives.
I would prefer not to have to use a case, but with a glass phone I'm always leery about dropping and cracking it. With a lot of my older phones, I wasn't nearly as concerned. If you drop a plastic or metal phone, you probably won't shatter the entire thing.
I wish LifeProof would make a case for the Honor 8. Then I could at least have a fairly heavy duty case but still be able to see (most) of the beauty of the phone.
use a clear case for protection, its slippery and you dont want to drop it and smash the glass
If you can afford buying another one don't use anything.....what i did when i got mine was applying the tempered glass and case before even opening the phone
Actually, I'm using both. Found a chinese TGSP in amazon and a orzly clear case. If it weren't for those my phone probably would be shattered after the last fews falls it has had :S
I go naked indoors and cover up outdoors. I do the same with the phone.
I put mine into a leather wallet type case.
I love the phone and how it looks but I thought I was gonna break it, it looks so breakable so for me and my life I had to give it full protection.
It might not look nice during daytime hours but at least i know it's still like new inside !

I don't like cases, makes the phone too thick. But I put on a skin, so now it is not slippery anymore.

Im using mine honor 8 in daily use with tempered glass on the front and in the back from Nillkin.
And, if i need use the phone in work I'm using armored case
Normally I do both but this AWESOME phone is only $300, so I don't really care to get a screen protector.
Buying a ferrari and covering it with ugly cloth.
I'm using it with full body clear film.
Guys this thing is beautiful.
Let it shine.
I have tempered glass on front and back.
Always a case.

I got a nillkin front too. If I am working at the office I left my case in the car. If I go outside often I use honor flip case, spigen or one from ipaky.
Btw how does the the tempered glass nillkin on the back look?

Ther's no different between when the back its covered by the glass but it's more safety from the scratches because back cover is full covered by the glass
Using the official flip case here. Works great.
Matte screen protectors on both sides = much less slippery.
Transparant silicon case to make it less slippery
I use the View Cover, but just until I get curved tempered glass for front and back in the mail - I hate using a case, but with that slippery back I can't trust it not to slip of sandpaper on a level table.
I don`t use screen protector but I use the blue pc case on blue honor 8 it is very thin (It almost protects nothing but at least it covers the glass back) phone still looks shinny.
A near-disaster today, fortunately the screen protector saved the day, but was scraped through to the glass, so it is now removed.
Anybody got any recommendations for the best replacement (It's for Mate 40 RS - but I think all 3 variants have the same screen?)
I don't mind glass (sometimes easier to fit bubble free) but only if the fingerprint sensor still works 100% (never did with my Samsungs!)
Thanks for your thoughts.
Before the curved screens ruined the tempered glass strategy for me I always bought Nillkin tempered glasses. For my Galaxy Note 9 I didn't like them but I decided now to try again.
I ordered this one: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrySJ4R
It hasn't arrived yet but when it comes I will give feedback.
For my wife's P40 Pro I tried liquid glue(uv cured) glass protector but I hate these things. The glue always spills a bit somewhere and it's very hard to clean it. Also it starts to loosen on the edges very quickly.
Update: I received it but don't like it very much. It sticks for now and no problems for touch but still not very pleasant on the sides. I think I will look for a non glass one....

i searched for a bit. There are glasses with UV glue, which shoul fit best for this kind of screen. But i doubt glue would go far enough. I need to test one, theyare about 4 dollars. For now for all edge screens, uv was best. In my country, you can get foil for screen installed free in huawei store for weekends. Check it out.

Thanks for the hint.
Right now I am with a hydrogel one. It surely is not as though as glass but its infinitely more comfortable.

I've tried liquid glue too but on my wife's P40 Pro. It started to loosen up on the edges very fast. Also if you don't clean very well any glue spills are quite nasty and difficult to remove postfactum. I also tried to go in a store for a different liquid glue one and while the guy kept it clean(no spills) it again started to loosen up on the edges very fast. :X

ah yes, i am only guy around here who know how to do them professionally. But it realyl depends on glue qulity and quantitie. Last time i messed up oneplus 7 pro so bad haha. But i am guessing mate 40 pro special waterfall screen must be pain in the butt
I've been using those hydrogen films ever since curve screens. most have what they say self healing, which is not bad considered that once glass ones chipped and you have to replace. so far its been good, never had any cracked screens from drops or anything( knock on wood)
Well got 2 glass protectors with uv glue. It kept getting bubbles underneath, messed up all the glue, cleaned, and i am gonna use it without protection hahaha
For anyone who has been using the Mate 40 Pro without a screen protector, how have the screens held up?
I've been trying to find decent protectors and so far I've been disappointed. Either they're too small and don't get to the edge of the curve or they cover the front camera.
