My Lenovo P2 randomly reboots when the display is off - Lenovo P2 Guides, News, & Discussion

When the display is off it will probably reboot itself whenever I try to do anything:
Press the power button, will reboot
Double tap to wake on the screen, will reboot
Pressing the home button, will reboot
Anyone encountered this problem? I also lost support for 5ghz wifi. This whole thing started occurring just a few hours ago.
Solved, sorry for the inconvenience. I wiped it and flashed Lineage 17.1

[Q] power button issue (not stuck button I don't think)

Hello everybody,
I have an annoying problem, I am running seans jelly bean 4.0t Rom with the latest update. My issue is when I press my power button once from an off screen state, the screen turns on, shows the power down menu, and then the screen goes black and I get the phone vibrating at every two second intervals. I can do a hard reboot from this point by holding the power button down for ten seconds and the phone will reboot. I have worked around this issue by using the wake screen with volume button feature, but I would like to be able to use my power button again. It does this problem everytime I press it once, it even does it after a clean flash with wiping everything 3x. Has anyone run into this issue before? I have searched for a problem like this, but haven't found any like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced

[Q] Bootloop when power button sometimes pressed

Hi everyone!
I think my bootloop problem may be a unique one because it only occurs whenever I press the power button (and I've kinda searched other threads and couldn't find a bootloop issue like mine). But before I explain in depth, here are my specs:
Stock 4.4.4 rom
Rooted, with xposed + gb
ElementalX 1.00 kernel
This problem is a randomly occurring one; when my phone is fine and I press the power button, it almost usually goes into a bootloop. It can either stay on the google screen or last all the way up to the x-boot one. Sometimes from the x-boot screen, it'll reboot again. So I realized that if I randomly press the power button a few times (usually trial and error), the problem goes away sometimes and I boot normally again. However, if I hit the power button again for any reason, the bootloop issue relapses.
Also another thing to note is sometimes when my phone is switched on and operating normally and I press the button, it doesn't always reboot immediately. Sometimes it behaves as if the power button is held down and the power menu pops up in the lockscreen... then subsequently it boot loops.
So I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue to do with the button itself (because I very rarely ever drop my phone. Perhaps about 3 times in the past 8-9 months since Dec 2013?) or it's a software issue...which will mean I've to reflash my stock rom.
Anyone with a similar issue please help! It's kinda driving me nuts cos I can't even unlock my phone without triggering a bootloop...:crying:

Might want to send it in for repair. Mine had the same symptoms about a month ago--spontaneously displaying the power menu, boot loops where I'd need to do a hardware reboot (or whatever it's called, vol up + power) and sometimes it won't wake the screen when I press the power button and act as if I turned it off. Tried to reflash recovery and change roms, same banana. Then suddenly it won't go out of bootloop, sometimes gets to the x-boot and sometimes only until the Google logo. Sent it for repair and lo and behold, hardware problem. I think this is really inherent on some older Nexus 5's with the wobbly power button.
I suggest you do a nandroid backup while you have the chance. Never had a chance myself

sigh, i reflashed stock rom and the problem persisted. i can't even stay on the bootloader screen without it rebooting itself all over again. i guess it's an old nexus 5 hardware problem like you said :/ thanks for sharing!

Sounds like the power button is getting stuck, or shorting out.

[Q] Intermittent freezing after unlocking the phone

Hi folks,
I'm not sure what is causing this. But my OPO seems to freeze sporadically after unlocking the phone. I'll swipe my pattern, the home screen will appear, then only the on-screen back button will appear (the home and right-most button will not appear). At this point, the phone is completely unresponsive, or rather maybe the touchscreen panel is no longer registering any inputs on my part. The screen would still time-out normally. However, pressing the power button will not wake it up, and the only way to recover the phone will be to long-press the power button until it reboots.
The frustrating thing about this is that it happens intermittently. I can never predict when it will occur, or what triggers it.
Can anyone provide any insight on how to fix this?
I'm running a completely stock OPO. Version 5.1.1. COS version 12.1 YOG4PAS3JL.
Thank you in advance!

Power button not working

Ok so I recently went on vacation and my phone was submerged in water. That's happened before but this time, the next day my phone started acting as if as I was holding the power button down and bringing up the advanced reboot options. Hitting the power button would turn the screen of and function normally but this persisted for about a day. Now my power button doesn't respond at all. I double tap the screen to turn it on so I can still use the phone. I'm afraid of going into bootloader or recovery and somehow getting stuck. I do have and use adb I just haven't proceeded. Any ideas? I believe it's hardware more than a software issue but maybe a wipe or reset would fix it?

Phone restarts when I unlock it

I am having issues with my A8
When I turn on the phone it boots into the OS normally, when I'm prompted with unlock screen, I unlock the phone, it boots into the main menu and then automatically restarts
I don't have enough time to check or reset settings
This issue used to also happen when I turned on the wifi, when I used to unlock the phone, I turn on wifi and it connects to wifi and then it restarts, now it just restarts when I unlock it (wifi is turned on)
Could it be a wifi issue? any help?
Thanks
At the password screen, try holding the volume down and power buttons and wait for the device to restart
If that doesn't work restart the device and hold the volume up and power buttons, use the volume buttons to navigate and power button to select wipe/factory reset
You will lose your data if you follow the 2nd method
I figured it out, it was a Magisk Module causing the issue, I disabled it using this magisk manager recovery tool https://github.com/Pzqqt/Magisk_Manager_Recovery_Tool booted into the phone, updated the module, now everything works fine.
