Hi there,
I just experienced black smearing when I was on Twitter (see the video attached)
Anyone experiencing that on a OP8 ?
I know previous OnePlus phone had that, but I thought the issue was fixed (if it is an issue, some says no).

Nothing visible there as I look at your video. I cannot see anything on my OP8 under the same circumstances either.

You don't see anything on the vid?
I see it on my screen, that means it comes from my screen. I'll try to upload a video filmed with an external camera for you to see that.
Thx for the feedback
You have to blind to not see it... I have the same kind of "dark blue" smear on my OnePlus 7T Pro and it annoys me very much.. I went to the local service center they tell me "it's fine, that's how OnePlus phones were built".. Is it? I have never seen something like this on any Samsung or Sony nor Apple's or any panels of other manufacturers...

I have never noticed a problem with any pink spot on my camera (recording or pictures) and I have owned the phone for about 6 months. Yesterday and today I noticed a clearly visible pink spot in the center of the phone. I was filming at the beach and I could clearly see it. It was very bright out but I know ive been in similar conditions and never had a problem or at least it was not as visible.
Not sure what to make of this issue. I did update to the latest update that T-Mobile has pulled for now but I never noticed it after the update but now I can really notice it. I love this camera and I use it regularly for my Youtube channel.
I would appreciate any information or feedback. If you would like to see an example of what I am talking about it is located on this video ( bright lighting conditons) :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MExfsTTMVA
Also the one from the day before located here ( dimmer lighting conditions) :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F574TME0hn0
Are there any suggestions?
Anyone else notice this problem?
what are you talking about? i don't see anything wrong in the videos
If you look close you can see it..... Its there.... First link look 0:40 to 0:45 also other places...
Second video link look 0:30 to 0:35
Its clearly there
...it doesn't look that noticable to me...but if it really bothers you take it to a tmobile store and get a $20 warranty exchange
I live in Ireland and I purchased the phone new from Ebay.
There is obviously a problem with the camera as you can notice. I did the editing on these videos to try and cut out the spot as much as possible but there is clearly a problem.
Has anyone else had an issue?
If you google pink spot camera problem you will notice it is an ongoing issue with many phones but I was unaware of this problem affecting MT4GS.....

Avoid lacking the light, and never use auto white balance mode when capturing image. Hope can fix your problem
I recently bought a Nexus 5 32 GB Black from Google Play Store India. I find an issue with the display. I can see horizontal lines on the display on looking closer to the screen. Anyone else facing similar issue? Just wanted to be sure that the issue is with my device only before requesting for RMA. It really can't be captured on a camera, but if anyone has seen it already, they should be able to know what I am talking about.

Thats just the LCD panel behind the glass. My HTC One had that, as well as my nexus 4.

So, are we supposed to live with that?
I just verified my friend's Nexus 4 and did not notice this issue.
well its not a problem when the screen is on.. The only time you can notice it is if your looking at it in a certain angle in a certain light lol.

I see it all the time. It is clearly visible on white and light backgrounds.
I've got them too. You can see them very prominently in the orange part of the wallpaper. Sorry about the orientation/Quality. Taken with my Nexus 7. x)
Thank you for making this topic! I have the same issue and I was wondering if it's just me. I can see the horizontal lines without even looking at the screen up close. I haven't had a chance to compare it with anything else though... I'm sending in my device for RMA due to the power button, I can report back in about 10 days if the new device has the same issue (if you want).
Using the same wallpaper, I don't see these lines on my device. I would definitely send it back for a replacement.

Yeah I don't think that's normal. I don't have those lines either.

I notice this as well. I never saw this with my previous phone (iphone 4s). Is this a defect?
Visible lines like that on the LCD is a defect.

Same issue for me.
No horizontal lines on display here (310K)
Yeah... I don't see like that on my nexus 5. I think your screen is defected.

Definitely defective screen.
I only have this problem when i am viewing a video on facebook or in my snapchat.. besides that it doesnt happen or i dont see anything at all.

I know this post is old, but I purchased a N5 a few days ago, and I found the same issue as you describe. It´s not like the image hakim1125 posted, is something more subtle, like grey horizontal lines all across the dislplay, right? In my case the lines are even visible at normal usage distance. So, is this supposed to be normal? Have you exchanged yours for a new one?
Sorry for my english.

I would do RMA, the problem is I bought the device in the US, and I live in Argentina. So I guess I´ll have to live with it.
I made an image with photoshop that illustrates the issue some of us are talking about. (See image below)
Specially on white or light backgrounds...It is barely noticable when viewing the screen at normal distance (you have to look for it), but is visible with the phone at a closer distance (about 6 inches)
Thanks for your help.

Oh mann. That's terrible. I guess you will need to live with it. However, I would still recommend showing it to a LG service center. It could also be a faulty/loose cable and if that's the case, you need not cough up much money to fix it.
hello, I have at low light in the middle of the camera always a purple color. does anyone have a solution? is it the same with you? most on grey backround! thx

I've adressed the bug on Lenovo's Motorola one vision forum hoping for a solution/fix.

I had to try it myself after seeing those images from @badadam
I experienced the same thing, and you can even see the purple tint in the view finder without taking an actual photo so it can't be because of some post processing on images.. But it's only concentrated to the middle for some reason.
I got this answer from a support guy on the Lenovo one vision foum:
This looks like a limitation of the hardware under very specific conditions. I suspect attempts to tune it out were determined to cause other side effects, but we will report it.
I´ve now asked if my device has to be returned/swapped if it is a hardware issue or if a future update can fix the problem.
I recieved the following answer to the above question from Lenovo:
Yes, that's what I mean. My personal recommendation would be to use the Night Vision feature, as previously suggested. Flash always leaves some kind of visual variation. Replacing it with a new motorola one vision won't make a difference.
I then took the attached photo (taken with night vision, indoors, not in low light) and sent it as reply asking if it is a general problem with the one vision or I and others that have experienced the problem have faulty devices.
I am tempted to returning/swapping the device in the hope of the latter.
Otherwise I will probably return the device to buy another phone. Which would be sad as I am otherwise very satisfied with the one vision. But I can't live with a phone that can't take perfect indoors photos.
That's only last update
This is before update.
Only SW issue
Aloha Folks!
I bought myself a new torchlight with an UV-Light and was fooling around with it until I finally pointed it on my Poco F2 Pro Display and saw something very odd.
I pointed the same light on different phones (Honor View 10, Samsung S10) and only the Poco has had this Display anomaly.
To everyone, who has a UV-Light, could you check your Poco? When every Poco has the same issue, then it's some kind of feature yet unknown or maybe it is something completely different?
Thank you all.
Despite this odd "feature" my Display works like a charm and has no problem with bleeding or contrast or whatever you might think of. Because of that this is really bugging me. What could it be? The screen protector glas is not the problem. I removed it and checked again. It stays the same.

There seems to be a problem with picture-attachments lately on xda. I had that too when I posted something two days ago. pictures weren't showing.
Try to upload the pictures on an external file/image -hoster and paste the direct links to them here.
I just need to get an uv light and I'll let you know
Yes! i also noticed this on my F2 i thought it was the tempered glass doing this
Did not notice this but another thing. Sometimes in sunlight you can see the fingerprint scanner(small rectangle) shimmer through.

No clue, I guess it's something to do with the under-display fingerprint scanner.
Yeah but that's waaaay to big for just the fingerprint scanner. It's all over the display.
I even mailed Xiaomi and asked them what it is, but since now no answer.
Hello, does anyone have a problem with green tint on Oppo the same as OnePlus 8 pro have. Interesting i had OnePlus 8 pro and have problems with green tint
I have sam problem with my Oppo Find X2 Pro. First didn't believe but after realised that have same problem. I bought another one and much lower but still exists. That can be noticeable on Chrome dark theme on 10-15% level brightness
No I am ok with my CPH2025 UAE model.
No Problem here too CPH2025 EU
Very strange,i am glad that you don't have any issue,my device is EU model from Germany, both of them have same problem. First one have much more issue than this one. Both of them i unpack, new sealed...at day light it's hard to see but you must be in absolute dark environment and open Chrome, dark mode, close all tabs and bring device to 10-15% brightness. And watch carefully display colour. Is it all grey or have some variations to another colour, somewhere lighter somewhere darker?

Yep, had 2x OP8 Pro and 2x Find X2 pro and all had issues in absolute dark with min brightness
+ dark band from punch hole
It was more prominent on OnePlus
OP8 Pro bought directly from OnePlus
X2 pro bought from German dealers

Agree man. But i am wondering is there any device without that problem i will get it ???. But if all are effected it's ok than.
Everyone that tells you that they don't have an issue are either lying or ignorant. Also you think it's bad now? Turn on DC Dimming (Low-brightness flicker-free eye comfort) and then have a look ?
OP8/Pro and Find X2/Pro have the same Samsung display, even S20 variants and Note20 have the same grey low brightness uniformity issue it just depends how well they hide it. Supposedly the technology for AMOLED screens isn't up to par to keep the quality consistent at 120 Hz refresh rate. Now don't misunderstand me - it isn't right and I don't feel like playing silicon lottery with my 1000€ device and if someone gets proof the issue is here because of cutting costs I'm all for class action lawsuit/forcing them to make a new and better batch but so far it seems like we're part of a screen "beta" test. Still the calibration seems better on the Oppo flagship so get that one if you don't mind the locked bootloader and find a lower priced model.

As you said do something and hide it ??. 3 x Oppo 1 orange two black have dame issue more or less noticeable 1 of two OnePlus have catastrophic issue but second one i think he have almost no issue . I would like to know is there any way to do to made this gone?

That's what I'm talking about. It's not big deal but we didn't get devices for free. It's pretty nice price. They should fix that
